Ha-ha! Ternyata pengganggu itu takut hamster!

Setelah kejadian itu, George ganti diganggu anak-anak sekelas. Katie yang bertemu dengannya sepulang sekolah merasa kasihan padanya. Dia pun mencari tahu mengapa George selalu mengganggu teman-temannya.

Katie Carew is having a terrible day! She loses the football game for her team, and she gets mud all over her jeans. George, the class bully, teases her and calls her Katie Kazoo. She goes home and makes a wish on a shooting star to be anyone else! The next day in school a strange wind comes around Katie, and the next thing she realizes, is she is the class pat, Speedy the hamster! At first Katie panics, but then ends up getting loose from the cage. While on the run she learns something about George.

Out of the four Katie Kazoo books I have read so far, this one is my favorite. It deals with the sensitive topic of bullying. Every child encounters this in some shape of form, and although what happened to Katie is unrealistic, how she handles the situation is a good lesson for children. Katie has the opportunity to get back at George for teasing her, but she takes the high road and is kind to him. She ends up becoming friends with George and showing him another way to make people laugh instead of making fun of them.

Great series for beginning readers. Katie is eight years old and in the third grade. These books are more for first and second graders, but they may look up to Katie and her friends.

Anyone but Me is the first book in the series Katie Kazoo. In Anyone but Me, Katie is bullied by a new student named George. That evening Katie wished that she was anyone but herself. What she did not realize is at that exact moment a shooting star crossed the sky. The next day Katie was nervous about entering the school because of George. All of a sudden Katie felt a breeze and she turned into the class hamster. Now Katie had to find a way out of the cage and to turn back to herself.

I have a lot of love for this series - sentimental from my days in third and fourth grade. I decided to reread (in 20 minutes) over a decade later, and I still remember many of the characters. This first book in the series tells the story of the first time Katie “switched” to another body after having a bad day. It also features her receiving her nickname, “Katie Kazoo.” This was an opportunity for her to get back at George for being mean. While she did kind of do that, this story isn’t about revenge. George got a redemption arc and the reconciliation was nice.

The first book in a popular series for grade three students who are just getting into chapter books. I found it rather mediocre but I probably would have enjoyed it at that age since I loved did-it-really-happen, switcheroo kind of magic stuff. Katie transforms the class bully into a friend after she gains some insight from spending the day magically transformed into the class guinea pig.

I read this book in 1st grade and it was the first book that got me into books. I read the entire series and back then I loved it so much. I kinda like it now but if you are wanting a YA book that is like this, read Every Day.

I used to be obsessed with this series when I was little due to the fact that my name is also Katie. When I took my students to the library a few weeks ago I saw this book there and thought it would be fun to revisit. It was a super cute kids book with a great message. Obviously I am an adult and it wasn’t made for me, i’m judging it as a kids book!

I never read this book. MY little sister did after she bought it at the School bookfair. All I know about it is that my sister never reads, but after she read the first book in this series, she stole my computer and went on amazon to buy the next 45 books!

This is a cute series of books. I just finished book one in the Katie Kazoo series - Anyone But Me.

Her real name is Katie Carew. She got the name Kazoo because her burping sounded like a kazoo.

Katie has two best friends - Jeremy Fox and Suzanne Lock. Then is the class tormentor - George Brennan.

She unfortunately has many mishaps and becomes the brunt of the children's laughter. This results in her not wanting to go to school anymore. But she does and the way to school there is a magical wind. The next thing she knows - Katies is transformed into the class hamster - Speedy. After a few adventures as a hamster - she gets back her human form.

By the end of the book she becomes friends with Georget Brennan.

I look forward to her next adventures.

Katie's third grade woes are all made infinitely worse by George, the class bully. Every tiny mishap gets blown up into a major embarrassment by his mockery. She gets so upset she accidentally wishes on a shooting star to switch lives with someone else. Little does she expect to have her wish granted by being turned into the class hamster! It's a mild, cute story about dealing with bullies. Seriously, though, is no one else worried that Speedy the hamster was probably running around in Katie's body when she was in his?

Katie Kazoo was a normal girl in 3rd grade until one day the magic came to her life she realized that when she really wished something like being a hamster or a baby she could, so she had more and more adventures changing into people’s bodies. The characters are Katie Kazoo and all of her friends. I don't really think the book changed me but it did teach me that friends can help you a lot. I would recommend it to Ruthy because she likes short stories.

If you have any love for your children don't let them read this series! I read it as a young kid and it scarred me for life! I can't go a day without worrying I'll "switcheroo" into someone! Live theater is forever ruined for me!!! The thought of what to do if I were to suddenly turn into one of the actors is always in the back of my mind!!! If you appreciate any sanity you may have DON'T READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!

I read this book when I was in elementary school and I always refer back to it when I’m asked what my favorite childhood book is and for my college literacy class I have to bring in my favorite childhood book to share so I just reread it and I remember why it was my favorite. As a 7 year old girl I could relate to Katie on many different levels. Definitely going to have to buy more to add to my future classroom.

[memory lane] I read this (& many other books in the series) years ago – sometime around primary school, so possibly as a 7-12 y/o? – and remember being quite taken by the whole series & concept! The formula of Katie-switching-into-someone/something-else was always the same, but all the different scenarios & the laughs that came along were more than enough for me to aim to complete this series every time I visited the library :>

Honestly, this book really does capture what it’s like to be in 2nd/3rd grade. Losing games at recess and burping in class were literally the end of the world, and bullies really did just relentlessly make fun of you just for getting some mud on your jeans. Wild times.

I don’t know why I felt the urge to read this though.

I read this in elementary school and it was my favorite series. After a trip to the book fair with my students today I decided to reread this. It was super cute and as good as I remember. Obviously the writing is simple and meant for kids but I still enjoyed myself and it was still good.

Very basic, beginner book. I let Jane pick our next audio book since she didn't like the last one and this is what she picked. Oddly enough, all of my boys seemed to like it too. Just okay for me.
