They survived the Grand Voyager. They believed they were safe. They were wrong.

After a violent ambush, the survivors find themselves thrust into a harsh, unrecognizable world. No communications. No shelter. No food. All they have is each other—a ragtag group of elites and misfits.

Amelia faces her deadliest test yet. Guilt-ridden Willow must save her brother at any cost. Gabriel seeks penance for his crimes, while Micah wrestles with his conscience even as he vows to protect his people.

With no rescue in sight, they begin a perilous journey in search of safety. Dangerous enemies lurk on every side. And someone—or something—is hunting them.

To stay alive, they’ll need answers—What is the Hydra virus? How can they stop it? And who can they trust when they can’t even trust each other?

In a hostile world falling to pieces around them, the only way they’ll survive is together.

☀︎ 𝙵𝙰𝙻𝙻𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝚂𝚃𝙰𝚁𝚂 ☀︎ Is the second full length post apocalyptic book in (The Last Sanctuary World) series by Kyla Stone. Told in Alternating POV's. This picked up right where the previous book left off.

If anything this one was more action packed than the previous book. And I was here for it all. I love how this author weaves her stories, everything unique, she pulls you in each and every time.

Having survived the voyage ship, and learning that the world they knew is gone, not only can they not trust people but feral diseased dogs are roaming the earth, stalking its prey. Them..

No shelter. No food. No one to save them but themselves.

Gabriel (21) and brother Micah (19) Micah is slowly stepping up into the role as the protector of the group, one they can all look up to and depend on as they seek a sanctuary. Gabriel transforming is before our very eyes, held prisoner by the group, as he comes to terms with the consequences of his actions. Out of the group only one person trusts him, a girl who sees the goodness within him. He just hs to see it himself.

Amelia Black (18) The daughter of Declan Black, Billionaire CEO, a powerful leader of the Coalition. Her brother Silas (16) who appears older than his years. The black sheep of the family.

Willow (17) siblings Zia (13) and Benjie (8). Willow will protect her brother at any costs, learning to fight hand in hand in combat, to shoot, to kill if necessary. Like a chrysalis coming out of her shell, she's a tough force to be reckoned with size be damned.

Quick review because I ain't trying to delay jumping into book 3 longer than I need to, but....

A super solid sequel that was damn near perfect. It continued where Rising Storm left off (well, a few weeks later, anyway), but the passing of time worked well. It gets right to the point and barely slows down. I loved getting to know core group of characters more, (Micah, Amelia, Gabriel, and Willow). I loved the tension and drama and heartfelt moments. This thing managed to wring some tears out of me and that's always a plus. Kyla is great at creating moments that tug on your heartstrings and get you all sorts of emotional. The action is fantastic, and I was effectively on the edge of my seat when it mattered most. I loved, loved, LOVED the cameos of Raven and Shadow, whose book I read first before this entire series. Obviously, had I read this book first, they would have been unknowns to me. But I was sorta happy I knew who they were already. That was great, and their presence was super epic.

I did have to take one star away, though, as there was still too much left to be desired or things left undone, some of them petty, some of them not. Where'd our crew get water as they traveled? Where was Gabriel during some of the chapters? Why was Amelia no longer contagious when she recovered? My biggest grumble of all, though, was not having Amelia and Gabriel share a single word with each other during this entire book. It was brutal and unrealistic. I get that she still feels sullen and betrayed, and I get that he's drowning in regret, self-hatred, and despair. But to have them share only fleeting glimpses and no words for the ENTIRE book? No. Didn't like it. Even when Amelia survives her infection and finds herself no longer feeling anger towards him, or even when she suggests for Micah to forgive him, she does nothing to mend things with him when she gets plenty of chances, nor he with her. They have zero conversation the whole way. I hope that gets rectified in the next book, even if it's fleeting, or even if Amelia is ends up being involved Micah. I'll be honest, I don't much care for a Micah and Amelia relationship and don't know if I wanna deal with a triangle, but if that's what Kyla wants, that's what she'll get. Either way, I want Gabriel to find peace and I hope Amelia can help him get there.

At any rate, that's enough outta me. I want book three and that's where I'm going. Till next time....

A brilliant page-turner.

I totally loved Falling Stars it is an excellent book to read. It definitely has the wow factor. Do not read in bed because there is no way you will sleep. It's got great pace and lots of stuff going on to hold you. I would definitely recommend to others.

Rollercoaster of action and emotions!

Wow! This series is getting good, to go from a luxury cruise ship and thrown into this post apocalyptic world. Kyla Stone has a beautiful way of writing, I find myself drawn into this world, and the hours just go by and bam I’ve finished the book.

I’m loving the characters, again we’re seeing them grow and develop. Willow is a little irritating with repeating that is her responsibility but it’s understandable due to her losing her sister and mother. Micah is growing as a protector of the group and Gabriel is coming to terms with the consequences of his actions in the previous book. I do love Amelia, there’s something about her ... well other than her overcoming the Hydra virus and living.

I’m really intrigued to see where this story goes, I feel that there’s a lot that hasn’t been explained to us yet or shown. I’m curious to see how getting over the virus will affect Amelia, will it change her?

Overall, this series is amazing so far and there are 3 more to books to read. I hope the rest are as amazing.

Kyle Stone does it again. Falling Stars is a great sequel to a great book. The trials and tribulations of our surviving group of Rising Storm continue and they as a group continue to rise above all of it. Even those that appeared to be beyond saving spiritually step up in this novel. Some prove once again that often times it is the good and the young that die early because they are too good for the world. There is a new character in this story that I am aching to learn more about and hope she continues to be a part of the next story.

I love the way Stone describes the world and the characters in her stories. She really gives you enough to honestly know them and get a feel for them and whether you would want them to make it in this new world. I enjoyed these two books so much, I joined her group online so I will know when she has more books coming out.

I gave this honest review after reading an advanced fewer copy of her book.

Read NO SAFE HAVEN. That's where I started with this series and I LOVED it. Maybe if I had started with the first book of the series, I would feel more connection with these characters. I like them, but I read this to learn what happened next for Raven, the shero of NO SAFE HAVEN.
This dystopian series uses the horrendous mutating virus the bring on the apocalypse. There's a power sect inside the corrupt government and a bunch of "terrorist" organizations who are trying to stop them, or at least kick them out of control.
Stone's ideas aren't unique but she does a good job mixing rich versus poor themes with the poor unloved rich kid tropes.
I picked up the next book in the series (mostly because I wondered if Raven would ever join them), so you know it's well-written with somewhat relatable characters in gripping situations.

(second book out of five)

I read the omnibus edition (The Last Sanctuary Omnibus #1-5: The Complete Post-Apocalyptic Survival Series) and it starts really well with this opening book the opens the way to... the end of the world maybe!
The story and the setting is well written and the characters are quite good.
It was sometimes just a bit too much on the young side of the young-adult genre and it didn't go very far in describing the world descending into chaos (I was expecting more).
That said it's a good series but not a great one.
I enjoyed reading it at first but slowly my interest dimmed.

Heart-pounding Continuation!!

I gobbled up the first book, Rising Storm The Last Sanctuary Book One... yes, it is a must read for you to understand the story, and to meet all the characters. I devoured it!

As I did with the second book. I could not wait to see where the band of heroes were headed!!!!

And boy did they take me on an adventure. I smiled. I laughed. I cheered as I again became captivated by this heart-pounding continuation.

All the characters are there, and some new ones... some nice, and some not-so-nice. Perfect combination!

The details Kyla gives us, as the reader, are exceptional. I can picture everything happening!!

I cannot wait to read the next book!

Falling Stars is a thrilling apocalyptic survival adventure centered on Amelia and the team of the Grand Voyager. Betrayed by her boyfriend, Gabriel Ramos Rivera, Amelia and Micah, Gabriel's brother Amelia and Micah find themselves in battle of the fittest, where their friends and family is now their enemies, and no place seems safe at the moment. This small group went through hell, watching they their loved ones die from either from gunshot wounds or from the Hydra Virus that seems to be plaguing them. It appears they couldn't run far enough or fast enough to escape it.
Told from alternating point of views, the store is fast paced and action-packed. It’s a great thriller for anyone who loves thrillers.

Amazing story and can be read as a stand-alone.

This is the first book I've read in the series and I found it to be a great stand alone. Even though there were references made to the previous book, I could still follow what was happening. The main characters took me on a heart-stopping journey that had me wondering what will happen next. You got a feel for each character as their bravery and determination to survive became clear at each obstacle and I must say I held my breath as death crept closer to many of them.

Overall this action-packed dystopian novel is sure to take you through a range of emotions that will leave you wanting more. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys an end of the world science and action story.

Back on land, Kyla Stone takes the group of survivors on a quest to find a safe haven from the Hydra Virus pandemic. Along the way the characters form a sort of family, establish leadership roles and try to balance the morality between the Elite and the common.

Stone creates the beginning of a love triangle between the two brothers, Gabriel and Micah with Amelia. Each loving her for totally different reason, the two work together to get her to safety.

What I loved most about this one is Gabriel's character arc. He starts this novel off as a convicted terrorist, however his brother's morality wears on him as the younger teaches the older how to survive this world. As they trade places, their relationship changes and develops into a unique addition to the story.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of Falling Stars: The Last Sanctuary Book Two. I really liked the way the plot changed from the first book. Still suspenseful, but in a different way. The characters develop so much more in this sequel, but it still is difficult for me to pick a favorite. I'm almost there though. The story is believable, which is important to me in a futuristic, apocalyptic novel. It held my attention from the very beginning of book 1. You'll enjoy this if you like novels about survival in difficult environments and circumstances.

Book two of this series sees Amelia, Willow, Micah and the rest thrust into a harsh world of gangs, unfriendlies, infected dog packs and more...

It's easy to distinguish the good from the evil and yet there are more sides to humans - can anyone be redeemed? The truth has been hidden, while they search for sanctuary, but can anyone be trusted?

I really enjoyed this story, and it will be interesting to know what the future holds. The girl and wolf are intriguing.

Well-written and highly recommended.

I thought the bar was set high after the first book, but this one exceeds that previous standard. You could read this as a stand-alone, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You’d miss important pieces of the backstory. This book picks up where the first one left off and takes us on a wild ride filled with drama and emotion. The characters are so dynamic, and the scenes are descriptive and vivid. I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

What a great follow up to the first book, 'Rising Storms'. Kyla Stone's action packed adventure could be read as a stand alone, but why miss the first book, when the writing is so gripping? The characters are real, gritty, and hurled into an action packed chase from the outset of the story.
If you are looking for a page turning exciting dystopian tale, read this and read the first book. Five well deserved stars!

I was blessed with a free copy of this book, and I have chosen of my own volition to share my review with you!

The tale continues in book of The Last Sanctuary Series. This book's only disappointment is that it ended. The characters are so complexly developed that they seem like some of my closest friends. The story line moves along at a decent clip, but there is adequate embellishment to make the story seem life-like.

I cannot wait for book 3!

Again, a great story. Such insights into the characters who are flawed and vulnerable. The balance between action and retrospection was much better. However, I found the constant changing of character perspective a bit jarring. I had to keep looking back to the beginning of the chapter to see who was talking as the pronouns weren't always defined.

I can't believe how amazing this series is!!!
I'm in love with all the characters and all their different dimensions. The growth from one book to the next left me stunned. Gabriel and Michah? When am I not rooting for them? I swoon for them both on completely separate occasions and reasons and i just love them so much.

Great characters and edge-of-your-seat action!

This book had everything I liked about book one: characters with realistic motivations, action, suspense, and insights into the human heart. I'm looking forward to book three, Burning Skies. This volume ends at a point of tension. It's not what I consider a cliffhanger ending, but I understand the title for the next book, and Burning Skies fits!

Even better than book one!
The characters continue to grow in a very honest and genuine way. The group faces challenges in a manner that shows the reader both the light and dark that can manifest within the human soul. We see the best and worst a person can be, and how the needs of survival can break down the self imposed morals we live by in a civilised society.
Looking forward to book 3!

Very entertaining

The survivors of the terrorists attack on the luxury cruise ship have been rescued and placed in quarantine for the hydra virus. Now released and escorted to safe haven when their convoy was attacked. All the armed escorts have been killed, all medical and food supplies have been taken. They are on their own.

Intrigue and excitement make books 1 and 2 great reads. Kyle Stone has done a superb job with the characters while continuing terrorizing and frightening her readers. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

Stone writes characters with depth. Her post-apocalyptic series reminds me of Tom Abraham's Travel series -- people finding courage to face impossible odds in a world gone crazy. I'm looking forward to book 3.

Very Good

Life doesn't come easy. You need to learn many things and decide what kind of person you want to be.
Life has hard lessons, the characters in the Sanctuary are learning some of the hardest. Some people live and some people die

Decent End of Civilization Story

Filled with plenty of characters, bad guys, and a couple unknowns, this is a well balanced story that adds plenty to the first book. In fact, it’s better than the first book.

Increasing tension

This second book has more excitement than the first. I believe Ms Stone was developing the characters in books 1&2. Now we get to travel forward with them and find out if humanity can be saved.

Book two is much better than book one, but I'm glad I have all of them to start the next one immediately. It would be irritating since they are shorter and one big continuous story broken up into pieces.

Ok but not as good as this author's other books

Ok but not as good as this author's other books. An ok read but not page turner. I don't think I'll read the next one in the series.
