This is one of my favorite food storage books because it is intent on making food storage a normal thing in daily life and not something that you eat in dire circumstances. All of the recipes I have tried so far are delicious and easy.

Many have not liked the family home evening lessons in the front of the book. I appreciated them. While I haven't used them - it's something that we have already covered a number of times, I can see that I might have used them years ago.

The only thing I would change about the book is to include more recipes. That seems kind of silly since the idea of this book is to cook what you normally do, but do it in a way that uses your food storage, but I liked the recipes so much I wished I could have more.

One of my favorite food storage cookbooks. I love that she encourages you to use common dried or dehydrated foods in everyday cooking. That's a great way to rotate your food storage and stretch your food budget. Crystal was the one that introduced me to using beans to replace all or part of the fat in a recipe. Reduced fat, increased fiber and nutrition, and you usually can't even tell. Now I do it all the time, with great results! If you go to her website (noted by another reviewer) you can print out handy charts for using nonfat dry milk in recipes. Although I haven't loved every recipe I've made, overall they're delicious and easy.

This has been a great book to help me realize that food storage items can actually be used in real life AND in an emergency. It not only teaches the basics, but has lots of fun recipes using food storage items.

9-11 This is one of the best food storage books I have ever read. I like that the author describes how the long term food storage items are made. And I like that she added the cost benefits.

9-12 I found this book so helpful that I plan to buy it!

DNF There should be warnings in such books that should be over the obvious topic of food storage but have to drag religion into it.

What a great book! So far I have only tried the Whole Wheat EZ bread, and it is AWESOME (read easy and yummy and nice texture)! Her website (www.everydayfoodstorage.NET) even has video hints on how to make the bread recipe into cinnamon bread or baked twist donuts. Yum! I look forward to trying more of the recipes . . . but will have to ADD potato flakes to my food storage since I didn't know they're so helpful in enhancing wheat breads. (Otherwise, I'm not a huge potato fan, as my family will attest.)

This book was recommended to me by Annette. Probably the omst useful cookbook I've read/had for a while - I now feel confident adding some of the essentials (powdered milk and eggs, for example) to my food storage rotation. The book basically discusses different things you probably have/need in food storage, and how to better use them in day-to-day cooking (thus rotating your storage, just like you should be doing!).

I am working my way through the recipes in this book and they aren't all fantastic (according to the obnoxious men in the household), but there are some serious possibilities.

The powdered milk-made-into-sweetened condensed milk is really good!

The best thing about her methods is her challenge to look through your own recipes and learn, and do, adapt them now. Great idea!

She has a blog too!

Of all the food storage books/web sites/presentations I've read/seen/been to, I have to say I LOVED this one. She was at the cute little bookstore on Lehi Main St and I learned new things. And I've used them! (just tonight, made cupcakes for the kiddos and neighbors and substituted the oil with pureed white beans. NOBODY NOTICED! Even after I told them, they didn't believe me. Awesome. Good stuff.

I was really disappointed in this book. Only about half of it was recipes... the other half seemed to be "Family Night" topics. I thought it would be something that would outline things in recipes that I could substitute out... for example, black beans for oil. It didn't end up being that way at all. I would definitely not purchase this book again. It's too much religion and not enough practical for my liking.

I really enjoyed reading through this book. It is full of great information for planning, buying and then USING our food storage. She encourages us to begin using food storage in our own daily recipes, but she also has many recipes included. Food storage is not only meant for "the end of the world," but it can also save us from unemployment, health challenges and rising food prices. I am not afraid of "food storage" anymore!! :)

I think the author has done so much work to put this book together and I appreciated her expertise on the subject. If it is still at Costco the next time I go, I'll probably pick it up, but honestly, it isn't something I would use right now. I would love to have it as a resource if there is an emergency, though.

Makes me want to buy some powdered milk! A gift from my mother-in-law, this book has simplified food storage for me. Has some great recipes, information about different long-term storage items (never knew how powdered milk was actually made!), and tips for saving money and eating healthier by using food storage. A great reference with tons of information.

I have a hold on this at the library, but have been following her blog for a little while. (everydayfoodstorage.net) Info like this is helpful - not too overwhelming, but instructive for one with no experience in bulk foods, how & what to store, how to cook it (in a yummy format:), etc.

Love the information/recipes for powdered milk & powdered eggs in this book! I also can't wait to start secretly using my beans! You could easily apply the information in this book to your own recipes, but I'm excited to try some of the author's.

Wow. Even for a total food storage greenhorn this book is completely accessable. It's the only food storage book I've seen that is actually approachable and helpful. I intend to buy my own copy and one for each of my daughters.

Easy read. It really does make planning for, storing and using food storage seem so much easier to take on. I'm glad I was given this book and would suggest it to anyone who wants a food storage, but doesn't know where to begin.

I won this signed book from the author by entering a giveaway on her site: everydayfoodstorage.net. I love the book and her website! I have learned so much! Most of the recipes in the book I am only lacking 1-2 ingredients! I will definitely save some money on my groceries! :)

I don't even know how to evaluate this book. The title did not quite let me know that it is a book of mormon doctrine on food storage! If that's what you are looking for its probably good. If you just want some freezer recipes...try again.

I have a real weakness for the books at Costco, especially cookbooks. I recently bought this one because of the yummy-sounding recipes using typical basic food storage items, but haven't read it yet.

Great book. It helped me realize I can use dried food and my food storage on a regular basis to help me with those everyday emergencies I have when I am out of onion soup mix or cream of chicken soup or evaporated milk. I can make my own from basic ingredients!

Okay, so I really didn't read this book cover to cover. I skimmed it, got what I needed out of it and decided that I really can do a better job integrating food storage into my everday cooking...especially those beans!

I own this book and I will be implementing the steps over the next year. I like the way it's broken up into steps-not such an overwhelming idea then.
