Absolutely loved this book!
I love the illustrations and I just love the main character. She’s so relatable! When we are at this age, we try to juggle so many things and be someone who’s “acceptable” in school, in group activities and yes, at home too as well.
Abbie Wu is really struggling in her outdoor school trip trying to be as cool as her brother, be inclusive as her popular friends and be someone who can become reliable. But can she do it all?
I just love how honest the character portrayal is and how realistic everything is there in the book.
We feel more stress and anxiety when things pile up, when we expect too much from ourselves and this is where reading this book will help you listen to yourself better and your surroundings; become more approachable and be more resilient without compromising our mental and physical health.
Abbie Wu ultimately allows herself to confide in someone she can trust and she comes to know what matters more rather than beating ourselves with fear and anxiety.
Such a good book!
