Beautiful book going over the very basics of French cooking. Sometimes they spent more time on graphics than content it seems as I often found photos and numbers didn't match.

Nutshell: Beautiful step-by-step photos and preparation instructions. The second French cookbook in my collection, the first, Julia Child's.

Upon close read, I discovered some of the recipes are missing steps or have unfinished sentences - neither of which are the author's fault. How do I know? I found her on social media, and asked for some of the missing info. Apparently, the American version has a small amount of these errors - none of which will prevent you from attempting any of the beautiful recipes or techniques in this book.

If you're interested in learning a bit of French cooking, add this substantial and user-friendly book to your kitchen library.
