Elizabeth’s dad was Henry the eighth, and her mother was Anne Boleyn, and her sister was Mary. Her father was king, and when he died, the crown of England passed to Mary, and in November 1558 she finally died, so Elizabeth was queen. Elizabeth made the country a lot more prosperous by limiting the amount of execution and charges for treason. She has a smart walk in the palace grounds at 7a.m, breakfast at 8a.m, audience with secretaries and sign letters at 9a.m, work on state papers, then meet with privy council at 10a.m, dancing at 11:30a.m, dinner at 12p.m, meet foreign ambassadors at 2p.m, state banquet at 5p.m, state paper at 8p.m, and bed at 12a.m. Elizabeth never married to anyone. She also delivered remarkable speeches, and she won all the hearts of her subjects. She provided funds and supplies to the army and navy, and she helped so much that even the Spanish Armada was defeated. She died on 23rd March, 1603.
I enjoyed this book it made history very fun and easy to remember.

For some reason I adored this book in primary school - it wasn't similar to any other book I was reading at the time, but I remember I read it over and over. A fun, humorous way to learn about history - engaging, easy to read, and very interesting!!

All about her and some secrets which may have been true. Interesting and a very hard life for Liz, easy to imagine. (although not entirely as I obviously have'nt been through it before.)

I have always had an interest in the English and Scottish monarchy, especially with the Tudors, the Tudor court and their relations. Elizabeth I was arguably one of the most successful monarchs in English history. She was incredibly smart and courageous, she knew to keep tight lipped on her true feelings, she had a temper and was strong enough to know that she could rule her country without a king by her side. I believe her opposition of marriage stems from the childhood trauma she suffered from the antics of her parents. A father who married six times, her mother beheaded for crimes she did not commit, Thomas Seymour only showing an interest in her for her wealth and power... I'd say that's enough to put anyone off marriage. Had she not been born into a royal family and both she and Robert Dudley were commoners, then I think they probably would have married happily.

Usually, when reading a history book the text is too long and too informative for me to take in. But with these Dead Famous books, the history is written in bite sized chunks, and with a humourful flair. They also make learning FUN. The illustrations and captions are also witty, funny and bare resemblance to the people they're based on.

Despite the series being aimed at children/teens, I nevertheless found this book to be well written and enjoyable. I'll be looking out for others in the series.

Horrible histories used to be my favourite when I was a kid and this is just like an extended version of that, with the focus on people instead of a specific time period. These books are good, perfect for any child who is interested in history, especially historical figures. If they like history as a whole, horrible histories is probably better but if they are interested in the person on the cover, it's a must have.

I picked this up after buying two novels by Phillipa Gregory. I wanted to "remember" what Tudor times where like before going knee deep on the novels. It was very fun, as this books tend to be, and I found out I remmember much so I was quite happy with it.

With smooth flow of writing and well presentation of characters, this book presents the Tudor era in an easy to understand, not so grim chunks.

E' un romanzo molto carino per i ragazzi. Le vignette rendono la lettura scorrevole, poichè l'impatto visivo lo fa sembrare più simile ad un fumetto che ad un romanzo vero e proprio
