I read this to my almost 3 year old grandson who is crazy about Mozart. He got through the serious stuff because he loved the cartoons that are included. Really well done, cute, and full of important information.
I have a collection of Mike Venezia’s “Getting To Know___” series, for my kids. All the titles share a distinctive format: dense with photos and pictures relating to the subject and historical period, a cartoon or two by the author ( including a different cartoon for the author’s bio on the back cover of each book), and a good basic, yet insightful, narrative of the subject. Venezia’s goal was to be informative and humorous, believing that would draw children into learning about the subjects. I think his books succeed in doing that.
This is an excellent series for learning about composers. Includes biographical information, information about their various works and some silly cartoons as well.
Another great book about the worlds greatest composers! This story was sad in the fact that Mozart struggled with keeping a job and died young. But he also wrote over 800 pieces of music! We will add this to our homeschool curriculum as well!
