Fan favorite Ivy Bishop takes center stage in this newest volume of the Legacy Of Magick Series. Sure, Ivy Bishop’s life is a little unusual… The gothic-fabulous and youngest female Witch in her family line is now a full time college student starting her Junior year. Living on campus, Ivy and her BFF, Cypress are residents in the 160 year old Crowly Hall. The dormitory that the locals swear is haunted. When the school newspaper assigns Ivy to photograph the expansion of the new University Museum, Ivy is on hand when human remains are uncovered within an old stone foundation. Construction comes to a screeching halt as first the police, and then archeologists descend on the site. Whatever they dug up has apparently opened a supernatural can of worms. Life at the dorm goes from mundane to eerie. And when a Witch thinks things are eerie— you know that’s bad. Ghostly sightings at Crowly Hall, bizarre paranormal activity, and a series of accidents at the dig site, are only the beginning. After an unknown entity appears and warns of calamity, Ivy realizes that she must rely on her intuition and the legacy of magick. Trying to solve the mystery of who the entity was in life, may very well put herself and her friends in danger. Digging into the history of William’s Ford could prove to be hazardous— especially for Witches.

Ivy Bishop is no push over, she will stand her ground no matter what. When faced with an angry ghost, wanting to keep her past a secret, Ivy and Cypress work together to find the truth. Even if it means tarnishing their college namesake. And, exposing the truth about another's woman's murder. Ivy finds romance while ghost hunting, a tight ass man who believes magic should be kept quiet. A man that is also investigating what is going on at the college campus, but doesn't believe Ivy and Cypress should be involved. You can't help but like Ivy and how she goes about life.
The beat part was introducing new characters ( and I want to know so much more about Nathan, and Hal). The worst part was not covering what was going on with established characters like Holly, Rene and Autumn, and even the Drakes. (Is Autumn still seeing Papa Legba? Enquiring minds want to know.) Clearly the series is well and truly established.
Dugan is a good storyteller creating interesting characters and plots. I am truly enjoying the series. Does a good job creating believable characters people can identify with.
I appreciated the development of Ivy's story. Each of the Legacy books have lead quite neatly into the next. Each story develops the each character more fully.
Fourth book brings forth one of the younger generation of characters. The action and focus, still magic and relationship based…..but bright in discovery. Fast paced and wonderful paranormal adventures!
I enjoyed the continuing story from Ivy's perspective, and particularly the paranormal events. I enjoy the character development and relationship development!
This rating is due partially to the amount of time s the word "energetically" was used. But, other than that and a few typos this was a great book. Could be read and enjoyed by both magic user and non believers too.
I'm always sad when I finish the book because I don't want It to end. I really loved this story it keeps you on your toes the whole time wanting to know what's gonna happen next. Time to start the next book yay.
