Two weeks have passed since Kevin Swift was kidnapped by spandex-clad secret agents, rescued by Lilian, and they were both subsequently saved by Lilian’s faithful maid-slash-bodyguard. Since then, Kevin has nabbed himself a foxy girlfriend—pun very much intended—and a person willing to train him in the arts of badassery. Needless to say, life has been good.
Then Lilian's family decided to pay a visit.
And everything went to hell.
Sometimes, life gives you lemons. Other times… well, you get the picture.
Brandon Varnell is the author of several book series, all of which involve anime-inspired fanservice. Having been an anime nerd for basically his whole life, his books tend to reflect that. He likes writing stories with loads of T&A, shonen-style battle scenes, and steamy romances that are both light-hearted and erotic. He is also a huge fan of harem anime, so most of his books feature harem romances. If that bothers you, you probably shouldn't read his books.

Yes, even the average reader can enjoy the antics of Brandon Varnell’s A Fox’s Family. From the start this series has been quirky, crazy and full of eye rolling humor and happenings. If you like comedy with some romance, adding our hero, Kevin, Lilian and the rest of the Kitsunes to the mix makes this a fun read that speeds by.
Kevin is growing up and Lilian has proven she is more than just some pretty tails (fox tails that is), but when her family comes to town, life can get a little hairy sometimes.
If you are looking for a read that will enrich you, change you forever and go down in history as a classic, well, um, this may not be the one you are looking for, but if you are looking for a few laughs, some attitude, a lot of plays on words, and a world that only the most vivid of imaginations can conjure, Brandon Varnell’s A Fox’s Family has enough in it to equally surprise, skate the offensive and come off like a cartoon with words instead of pictures! I liked it!
I received this copy from Brandon Varnell in exchange for my honest review.

Getting the negative out of the way first: the main villain of the piece comes across as a bit one dimensional. A lot one dimensional, really; I feel he could have really been fleshed out better and made even more unlikable, but as it is he ended up being more a caricature than anything.
The positive is that having started off the series as a festival of anime tropes and T&A (and let the record show that I am a great fan of both those things), the author (the Author?) has progressed into fleshing out both the world and the characters, adding more complexity to what had been, at least in the beginning, a fairly straightforward sendup of romantic comedy anime.
The book was a lot of fun and this one I think was the best so far, there was comedy, action, family and a bad guy to defeat. The story escalated a lot from the first two books with maiming and actual deaths of characters. Kevin is still a virgin, which worries me that they will never get around to taking the next step in their relationship, even though they are getting more comfortable giving each other affection. I have read all the so far released books in Brandon’s Unlikely Hero series and at least Kevin is further ahead in progressing his relationship than the MC in that series.....
As the author has stated, this book is definitely a deviation from the first 3, but it also supplies a much needed darker contrast that just fleshes out the world and elevates the story. Well done
This has quickly become one of my favorite series. Mr. Parnell has a true gift, the story is painted in my mind the characters are full and loveable, the series captures the best of short novel, and manga with the passion themes and joys in both eastern and western writing. My one critique is that there are some typos that must of slipped through the cracks. Again not a big deal but I know this might put some readers off. Again fantastic story absolutely recommend!
The best since book three, seriously the humour was as always the best. Poor Eric got really close to death... Oh and yeah ! The story was a bit Dark but nothing you can't handle if you read the whole Antimagic academy novel.
