New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Angie Fox writes sweet, fun, action-packed mysteries. Her characters are clever and fearless, but in real life, Angie is afraid of basements, bees, and going up stairs when it is dark behind her. Let’s face it. Angie wouldn’t last five minutes in one of her books.
Angie is best known for her SOUTHERN SPIRITS™ mysteries, and for her ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER books.
A LITTLE NIGHT MAGIC has a variety of enjoyable short stories from Angie Fox’s SOUTHERN GHOST HUNTER MYSTERIES and DEMON SLAYER series. I have read and reviewed three of the stories previously, but I included their reviews.
A GHOSTLY GIFT Verity Long is new to the ghost business. She has much to learn about the business and her new ability of sensing and communicating with the dead. Verity, however, has no intention of continuing in the unique line of work she fell into and intends to keep it secret from the residents of her hometown to keep from being further ridiculed. She prefers to hunt for a normal job with a steady paycheck. Verity accepts one more ghost job when her sister pleads for help for a friend with a ghostly problem before it ruins her business. She, and her sullen ghost sidekick, stay the night inside the shop and discover who is responsible for the destructive disturbances. Verity decides to aid the deceased solider in the search for his long, lost love and return her ring before it is too late. Verity's character has not changed overly much from the first book. I still love her quirkiness and sass. She never fails to make me laugh and grin like a loon. I enjoy the sisterly bond Verity shares with her younger sister Melody. The author shows just how tight the two sisters are and how much both women care for the other by their actions and decisions. And Verity shows how large her heart is. She may not have plans to pursue the ghost medium/hunting business, but she does not refuse to help when it's needed. The lengths Verity is willing to go in order to complete such an altruistic task is heartrending. I did not believe it was possible to like her character more, but I do. The only complaint I had with the story is that Ellis was not present. His name is mentioned several times and the author gleans hints to the state of Verity's relationship with him. Frankie's part is minimal but no less important. I do enjoy his interactions with Verity and other ghosts. A GHOSTLY GIFT is a short yet poignant story that wrenches the heart-strings. A GHOSTLY GIFT is a nice filler in the SOUTHERN GHOST HUNTER MYSTERIES to tie me over until the release of the second full-length novel. This novella may be quick yet the shortness does not diminish the emotion Angie Fox incorporated inside it. The author managed to make me get teary eyed on a few scenes and the ending brought a soft smile to my face.
GHOST OF A CHANCE Verity Long is a reluctant medium, thanks to a persistent, rowdy ghostly houseguest. She is approached by Major Matthew Jackson, a new ghost friend from the library, to fetch an important item from his family home. Verity grudgingly agrees. To gain entry into the Jackson estate, she volunteers to help her best friend Lauralee cater the well-to-do family’s annual Christmas party. While waitressing Verity searches for the spirit of Matthew’s departed mother and devises a way to reunite mother and son. I love the warm feelings this short story invokes. Verity continues to amaze me with her altruism and thoughtfulness towards the departed. She may not want the attention and recognition of a Ghost Whisperer, however, I feel the title and occupation suits her kind nature. I also like how Verity finds acceptance with ghosts when the living proves to be judgmental and harsh. Again, my only nitpick with these SOUTHERN GHOST HUNTER MYSTERIES novellas are the uber-sexy Ellis’s absences. GHOST OF A CHANCE is a heartwarming story of closure after death. Angie Fox has this knack of giving her readers glimpses of her characters’ lives in-between novels. I like how GHOST OF A CHANCE takes place around Christmas time without the holiday overshadowing the storyline or the plot.
GENTLEMEN PREFER VOODOO Amiele Baptiste owns and operates a voodoo shop in New Orleans. She is descended from a long line of mambos, good practitioners of voodoo. Amie dares fate and uses magic to call her destined mate. The spell she invoked works and brings the man-of-her-dreams straight to her door. To her ultimate dismay, Amie learns the enormity of her love spell. She decides to try and undo her mistake, however Dante refuses to cooperate. The man is too tempting to resist. Dante Montenegro has been waiting two centuries for his second chance at finding his soul mate. He answers the call of Amie’s love spell, but the woman balks after learning exactly where he came from. Dante strives to prove to her that they truly belong together. Amie continues to fight his wooing and he needs to convince Amie they are destined for each other before running out of time. I remember Amie and Dante from their appearance in book seven, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEMON SLAYER. I admit the couple garnered my curiosity, especially what set Dante apart from ordinary people. I was happy to discover that the couple indeed had a story that explains about Dante. I felt for Amie. Her mother’s failure with relationships influenced Amie’s reluctance to take a chance with love. I identified with Amie on her determination not to repeat her mother’s follies. Dante is a definite keeper. I love his optimism and the way he went about wooing Amie. I found it incredibly sexy that Dante willingly cooked and cleaned for her, knowing what century the man came from. GENTLEMEN PREFER VOODOO is an uplifting tale of true love, conquering not only time but death as well. I love how Angie Fox gives readers another couple to enjoy and love.
I BRAKE FOR BIKER WITCHES Lizzie Brown is the last remaining demon slayer the world has. She and the biker witches leave Las Vegas to return back to Los Angeles. The rowdy group is stopped on the way by a familiar ghostly visage. The phantom asks for Lizzie’s particular brand of help. While the Red Skulls reunite with their fallen comrades, she investigates the evil aura that set off her demon slayer senses. I BRAKE FOR BIKER WITCHES is book 4.5 in Angie Fox’s DEMON SLAYERS series. I like how this story takes place two weeks after the events in book four, LAST OF THE DEMON SLAYER, showing how Lizzie and the gang handled their last foray. It is always a treat to see Lizzie, Pirate, and the Red Skulls on their down time, witnessing that their hijinks are a normal part of their existence. I found it poignant that deceased members of the biker witches, particularly the ones who had lost their lives from previous battles helping Lizzie, make one last appearance and that they remain as zanny in the afterlife as they were when living. I BRAKE FOR BIKER WITCHES is a fun and entertaining story. The story is on the short side, however, it did not disappoint me. The biker witches and Lizzie’s talking dog continue to amuse me with their crazy commentary and wacky behavior and antics.
DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER Lizzie Brown-Kallinikos, demon slayer extraordinaire, and her were-griffon husband want to spend their first wedding anniversary free from anything supernatural. Dimitri finds an antebellum plantation house turned restaurant, and Lizzie agrees the place is perfect for a night alone with her husband. The couple learn while dining about the house's history and the unexplained incidents that have plagued the place. Lizzie and Dimitri find themselves sucked into another dimension and stalked by the malevolent poltergeist of the plantation's first owner. Help comes to the couple's rescue in an unexpected guise. Lizzie beseeches the biker witches' help in dealing with the malicious spirit so he can no longer do any harm again. Lizzie and Dimitri continue to prove what a formidable pair they are. The couple, however, cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to the supernatural. Something always happens whenever the two want a brief reprieve from the dangerous world they belong to. The two face a paranormal aspect that they do not have the ability or skill set to combat, yet this does not stop them from risking their own lives to protect each other, hence why Lizzie and Dimitri are my favorite couple in romance books. I really like how neither are the hero but the one who saves the day is Pirate, Lizzie's pet dog. DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER is book 7.5 in Angie Fox's fun DEMON SLAYERS series. The story takes place after the events in NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEMON SLAYERS. I never get enough of the biker witches or their brand of insanity. DATE WITH A DEMON SLAYER shows that heroes can come in small and furry packaging. It is always a treat to see how the characters behave between books and how situations keep on cropping up when they are least prepared.
SOME LIKE IT HEXED Lizzie Brown-Kallinikos is the sanctified demon slayer of Dalea. She attends a spur-of-the-moment Halloween party hosted by her grandmother and the rowdy Red Skulls biker gang. Lizzie discovers, much to her surprise, the party is held at a retirement home. During the bash, she senses the ominous presence of black magic subtly hidden beneath the positive magic of the biker witches. Lizzie grows worried when her grandmother falls sick, and she searches desperately for the cause of the strange malady. It almost feels as if Lizzie and Pirate took secondary precedence in this novella. Instead, it appears like the author focused more on Lizzie's grandmother, Gertie. I like how Gertie shows she too is liable to weakness and susceptible to the effects of strong, dark magic too. Lizzie demonstrates the lengths she is willing to go to protect and save her eccentric matriarch, proving just how important the old witch is to her. Sadly, I miss the sexy were-gryphon Dimitri. He is glaringly absent in the zanny chaos of this story. SOME LIKE IT HEXED is a Halloween-themed, short story belonging to the Angie Fox's fun and quirky DEMON SLAYERS series. I rarely ever see Halloween or Samhain being the main focus for romance books, so I am delighted the holiday finally gets some love and exposure. SOME LIKE IT HEXED is an entertaining, quick story guaranteed to invoke the Halloween mood. The novella is a great filler to tie over fans until the next full length DEMON SLAYER book. I always enjoy seeing that the hijinks never stop for Lizzie and her motley comrades, that there is never rest for the wicked.
A LITTLE NIGHT MAGIC is a must-have collection of short stories from two of Angie Fox’s popular series. The stories range in variety from a voodoo mambo in New Orleans, to the crazy antics of rowdy biker witches, a food obsessed talking Jack Russel terrier, to a southern-sassy styled Ghost Whisperer and her ghostly side kick. Each story is full of their brand of hijinks and hilarity.
A collection of 6 novellas from Angie Fox. The last three are from the Biker Witch series, one from early in the series 4.5, then 6.5 and 7.5. If you haven't read the series, these are understandable but more enjoyable if you've read at least a few of them. The first two novellas are from the Ghost series, basically 1.5 and 2.5. These are easily read with having read the series.
Ghost of a Chance Verity goes on a errand for a ghost and reunites a mother and son. A touching holiday novella where family and friends are the most important part of the season. You don't need to be familiar with the series. The author does a good job with background information.
Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo This is a cute novella that is back story for characters that you will meet in the Biker series. Amie is a voodoo mambo and she raises Donte from the dead. He has only three days to convince her that she loves him. The Kongamato was fun and a mischief maker.
I won a print copy of A Little Night Magic by Angie Fox in a Goodreads Giveaway.
A Little Night Magic is the second book from Angie Fox that I have had the good fortune to read. Here we have a collection of short stories involving characters from two different series written by Ms. Fox.
We start with Verity and Frankie of the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries. Two light, funny and heartwarming tales which bring to mind Ghost Whisperer, only leaning more to the humorous side.
Next, we have Amie and Dante from the Accidental Demon Slayer series and a great story set in New Orleans voodoo. Still a funny, while suspenseful, read.
Finally, three stories starring Lizzie and the Biker Witches, characters I met in The Accidental Demon Slayer. Biker Witches who are also senior citizens are hilarious, and frustrating (at least for Lizzie).
Angie Fox has a talent for presenting us with leading ladies who don't appear to have to be more macho than the men they are around. I like this approach, they are women, not weepy girls or out to prove their superiority. They laugh, joke, and have sexual thoughts at inopportune times (kind of like men do, okay, like I do). I guess what I am getting at here is that we get fun stories without a heavy dose of social commentary, and I like that. I like my reading to be fun and so far the two books I have read by this author have been that; great fun.
A Little Night Magic is a sampler platter of MS. Fox's story telling ability and does its job of enticing readers to want to read more of her work. It has for me anyway. I recommend A Little Night Magic as an introduction to Angie Fox's work, or for fans, a visit with characters you have come to know and love. Either way; Enjoy!
I really enjoyed the short stories in "A Little Night Magic" by Angie Fox. They are cute, entertaining stories about good witches trying to help people with their ghosts or demons or other supernatural entities. I wish I read them around Halloween time. Apparently, the author writes a series on several of the characters in the book. All of the stories stand alone. Personally, 'A Ghostly Gift' and 'Ghost of a Chance' are my favorite. Then, 'Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo'. I like the others too, but these were my favorites. There are very few language issues and in a couple of stories more adult settings are included. I don't remember any in the first two stories to be concerned. I think the'"I Brake for Biker Witches' has some. I only mention this, because they make good stories for the young, except in a few area.
A Little Night Magic is a compilation of six short stories of the paranormal and romance variety. I would first like to state that I received this through a Goodreads Giveaway. The tales in this book are short but sweet and well-written. They encompass multiple facets of love be it romantic, familial, or even for a pet. Most are companion stories that lead into various full-length book series but all have a satisfying conclusion. The characters were surprisingly well-defined for the length and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I would definitely recommend this to fans of the genre and am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Fox.
This was a good book, but I suspect that it's just condensed stories already in other books. At least, the first two were. But it has introduced me to Ms. Fox's other characters, and I liked them. It did take a while for them to grow on me, but I will be reading more of her stuff than just the Southern Ghost Hunter series. I recommend this book to get to know Ms. Fox and her characters. If you are already familiar with her books, you may want to give this one a pass since the stories appear in the full-length books.
This is a combination of several of the series starters by Angle Fox. I of course love Southern Spirits and the story about the voodoo store owner and her one true love, who happened to be a zombie come back to life. The Demon Slayer and Biker Witches weren't as appealing to me, but I'm sure they are excellent series also, just not what I'm into right now. Its great to have this book so you can get a feel for which series you'd like to read first. 🙂
I wanted to love this book. Sadly I did not. I picked it solely based on the cover and thought it was going to be so fun. I did enjoy the two ghost hunter stories and the voodoo mamba story as well but I did not at all like the demon slayer/witch stories. Those two stories are what took me down to 2 stars. I’ll definitely try out some more of this author’s stuff though - probably the ones about Verity.
Fun cozy fantasy short stories set in modern day. I found this at random when looking for a fantasy book in the Libby app. It turns out a lot of the characters come from full length novels by the same author. The first setting from the Southern Ghosthunters series gives me a similar vibe to the TV show Ghosts. And the Demonslayer setting gives Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes. I might take a look into the full length novels in the future, especially the Demonslayer ones
A Delightful Journey Into The Worlds Of Angie Fox!
This is a perfect mix of short stories to be able to test the waters of each series by Angie. Or, if you've read the books, you get further glimpses into demon slayers, biker witches, griffins, talking dogs, Southern Belles turned ghost whisperers, Prohibition era gangsters, and more!
This was a nice introduction to a couple of the authors series. I picked it up as I was reading one of the series and wanted to read the companion short stories. They frequently add little points that you would miss otherwise. I hadn't read the other series represented in this anthology so it was a nice intro to them.
I enjoyed the first three stories. My favorite was the one where she called up a man from the grave. I found myself laughing at her predicament. I was not fond of the biker witches. Maybe because I haven’te read their stories before. But I hadn’t read about the guy from the grave either and I enjoyed his story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This short story anthology contained a mix of stories from the Demon Slayer world and the Southern Ghost one. I don’t think you really need to have read the series before, but it would help you get maximum enjoyment out of them. A Ghostly Gift: This is a short and sweet read to fill the gap between book 1 & 2 of this series. I highly recommend reading the series in order so you don't get accidentally spoiled.
Verity is still scraping along, but happily occupying her own home. She may have upgraded from ramen dinners to her sister's takeout "leftovers," but she is still lacking in the regular job department. While playing chess with her ghost BFF (as one does), her sister gives her a lead on a possible job offer. No, it doesn't involve using her graphic design skills. Instead, it uses her supposedly secret ghost management skills. She and Frankie take off for a second hand store that is being "broken in to" by ghosts.
This has a bit of a love story edge to it when Verity begins to solve this mystery. There are misunderstandings, lovers torn apart, and oodles of ghosts. I'm loving this world more and more with each new story installment.
Ghost of a Chance: This was another short story set in the world of Verity Long, (secret) ghost whisperer extraordinaire. The ghost we met in a previous tale comes back to ask a favor of Verity, who is very short on both time and money to help. Luckily, this one overlaps with a paying gig at a party and allows her to give a little bit of a gift to a pair of ghosts that are made for one another.
When she shows up to a party expecting a simple discussion, you know things are going to go wrong. Nothing is ever simple for Verity. While there was a distinct lack of her maybe-sorta-boyfriend, the story made up for it in familiar ghost faces. This was a cute redemption and reconciliation tale to read around the holidays.
Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo: This really wasn’t that short a story to me. It had all the makings of a heart-wrenching book that gave the reader a good rollercoaster ride through the life of Amie Baptiste.
Amie is the owner of a voodoo shop that specialized in love. It only makes sense that she is the one most desperately in need of it herself. After a lot of bickering, she finally listens to her mythical pet and works some magic on herself. Somewhere along the line, she ends up wishing for a specific dream man and not just some hypothetical one. Much to her surprise, he shows up naked and sort of a zombie.
Dante is Amie’s dream man, but she is terrified to admit it. He worked some magic after his death to make sure that he could be called back to life by his one true love. It seems pretty clear to him, but it is an uphill battle to convince Amie that they were meant to be. She’s got to take a leap and believe that he will catch her. These two have to really work at their HEA, but it is completely satisfying in the end.
I Brake for Biker Witches:
This was a super quick trip down memory lane. Lizzie is on the road between jobs when she and the biker witches run into a ghost from their past. They are literal ghosts because that’s the kind of life Lizzie leads. Even after death, though, life isn’t easy for members of Lizzie’s gang. She’s got to step in to defend the afterlife of said ghosts in a battle showdown unlike any other.
Date With a Demon Slayer: This was a cute, funny, short read that gives you a little yummy taste of the series that made me smile. It can easily be read in a few hours and is 100% pure enjoyment.
Lizzie and Dimitri are trying to celebrate their anniversary with a minimum of drama. This, of course, does not go as planned. How can they possibly expect to have a relaxing evening when their family of biker witches is right down the road? Their “normal” dinner turns into their more typical evening when they discover a dangerous haunting happening in the restaurant/inn. Though there is some excitement and magic, our favorite couple ends up celebrating their anniversary in the only way possible for a Demon Slayer and a Griffin. Oh, and Pirate helps in his own special way, too.
Some Like It Hexed: This short, adorable, silly, antic-filled, wild read is exactly what you expect to compliment this series. While I don't recommend reading this one if you have no other experience with the series, it probably wouldn't hurt too much.
Lizzie gets invited to a last minute Halloween party thrown by her biker witch friends - what could go wrong? Well, for starters, why would this be happening at a senior center? Oh, and why are there some more magical things happening in front of the normals? It wouldn't be a holiday if there wasn't the appropriate amount of magic and mayhem. The only thing missing from the story was the yummy Dimitri. This story, however, still managed to jam some sigh-worthy romance in with some unlikely participants. If you're looking for a quick, fun read that will make you smile - this is the story for you.
Angie Fox has done it again! "A Little Night Magic" is a delightful collection of a sampling of her best story collections. The collection starts with "A Ghostly Gift". It is another adventure with everyone's favorite ghost hunter Verity and her ghostly side-kick Frankie Valentine, a deceased gangster she accidentally trapped on the earthly plane. The ghost hunting duo helps Verity's sister's friend who has unwelcome and other worldly visitors in her resale shop. In the holiday tale "Ghost of a Chance" Verity and Frankie assist the ghost of a Union Civil War Soldier by infiltrating Verity's former fiance's (whose relationship didn't end well) Holiday party so he can win his hearts desire. "Gentleman Prefer Voodoo" is a new series for me and I cannot wait to read more about Voodoo Queen Amie and her interesting familiar. In this tale, Amie is looking for love and takes rather drastic measures to obtain her hearts desire, with surprising and unexpected results. "I Brake for Biker Witches" is a fun visit with my favorite demon-slayer Lizzie and her Biker Witch coven/family (and of course her talking dog Pirate). The witches get invited to a biker bar inhabited with passed on bikers and long lost coven members to help them deal with an evil presence at their hangout. "Date with a Demon Slayer" joins Lizzie, Dimitri and the Biker witches for Lizzie and Dimitri's first wedding anniversary at an old yet cozy inn. Well, their anniversary date doesn't turn out the way they expected it to and honestly, we didn't really expect it to be normal either. The final tale in this collection is one of my favorites "Some Like it Hexed". Lizzie joins the Biker witches at a local retirement home for a Halloween Party. As well as music and snacks there are party surprises that no one expected. Angie Fox never ceases to entertain with her light hearted tales of magic and mischief. You can never tell where her tales will lead you and each adventure is a delight.
A Little Night Magic by Angie Fox This anthology provides the opportunity for the reader to see a broad range of the writing talents of Angie Fox. It starts with the newest series concerning Verity, a modern Southern girl who decided not to married a favored Southern son and Frankie, a ghost. The adventures of these two endear the reader through the vibrancy of their characters as well as the uniqueness of the interactions with other ghosts and town members. The third story brings us to New Orleans and voodoo through a classic love story with a twist. It is a race to save love and secure a happy ending but will the characters realize what is necessary for true love. The author keeps the reader engaged with this venture in a New Orleans classic. The last three novellas provide the reader with snapshots into the world of Angie and the biker witches. Each individual episode shows insights into the relationship between Angie and the biker witches. Adventure abounds in the biker witch universe created by Angie Fox. Readers are engaged by the fun, bizarre aspects of the biker witches as compared to Angie. Pirate, the talking dog, adds another fun aspect of comic relief, especially in the second story. The third story resonates with all those who have lost and loved. I received an ARC for review. I would highly recommend this anthology for those who are looking for a great fast read and those who already love this author. To those who unfamiliar with this author, be prepared to find a new favorite.
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review, it in no way effects my opinion of the book* - Angie Fox lovers Rejoice! You can now find all the short stories you were missing in one place! If you like me had missed out on a few along the way this inexpensive little ebook can rectify that problem. This contains 2 short stories in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries (A Ghostly Gift, and Ghost of a Chance) both of which are really cute and sweet! It also contains 4 short stories in the Demon Slayer Series (Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo, I Brake for Biker Witches, Date with a Demon Slayer, and Some Like It Hexed), all of which are fun additions to the Lizzie world. Some of these had been previously published and you might have read I know I had already read I Brake for Biker Witches. However being as I don't normally purchase ebook shorts the rest were all a new pleasure for me. I suggest this book for anyone who loves Angie Fox's book and has also like me not purchase previous shorts. Some of these little shorts give you some incite into past books and let you in on secrets you didn't know you needed the answer too!
This was so much fun. Each story had special moments. A Ghostly Gift: The ghost's at the bar jumped off the page. I could almost see them in all their obnoxious glory. And then that moment your fear of being different is overshadowed by the peace you can give. This left me with a sense of teary peace. Ghost of a Chance: So that's how you save a party. Now maybe Frankie can have a bit of fun. Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo: The foolishness of complete control. Finding love and sharing it heedless of losing that shield of tight control. I Brake For Biker Witches: The desert is huge and empty in most places. Leave it to the Red Skulls to bring excitement to that emptiness. Such a small taste of their adventures. Date With a Demon Slayer: Some things should stay in the grave. Using a twisted belief and hurting others to intensify your power to cause harm, not nice. Biker Witches clean up and the party goes on. Some Like It Hexed: Halloween party at a rest home hosted by the Red Skulls, and the crazy ensues.
This is the best way to get introduced to the wonderful world of Angie Fox! This is a fantastic anthology of stories that take a peak into her current series and the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries ( Verity and her ghostly friends) and the Biker Witches ( Lizzie, Dimtri, and the crazy Red Skulls) I enjoyed all of the stories in this book, I do wish there was a longer story for Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo. I feel like there is so much more to these characters. This book has everything you need, crazy ghosts, sweet skunks, Demon Slayers, sexy griffins, and CRAZY biker witches! These stories are laugh out loud and just a really fun read! I can't wait for the next book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series- A Haunted Heist.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is an entertaining and fun anthology of short stories by Angie Fox. I got to spend some time with old friends like Lizzie, Pirate and the whole gang and can't forget Verity and Frankie. I also got to meet some new friends Amie, Isoke and the gorgeous Dante. This anthology is a a good introduction to Angie's books if you haven't read them yet and your just not sure if you would like them. But, take my word for it you are going to fall in love with her quirky characters...... They feel like family. And for the die hard Angie fans this is like the desert table at a buffet. Angie's books are suitable for anyone who enjoys a little bit of fun escapism.
Pure fun. These aren't complicated stories, but are full of magic and fun. I enjoyed this book and will now be looking out for Angie Fox books to read. I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway.
**I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.** -------------------------------------------
A fun"sampler" of novellas from Angie's series to introduce (or catch you up) on some of the shenanigans Lizzie & Verity have been up to! Whether a ghost is causing some trouble, voodoo has gone awry, or demons have wormed their way out of hell, the girls are bound to get into some trouble. But, using their quick wits, sarcasm, and natural good luck they manage to win the day!
What could be better than a book with six of Angie Fox's stories! There are ghosts, voodoo, demon slayers and a delightful biker gang. This is a truly great read. It only took me a couple of days because I did not want to put it down.
Angie Fox creates lovable characters with wonderful humor. Some of these genres are not something I would have thought I would like. I truly cannot get enough of them! If you think you won't like them, try them and you might be surprised! She truly creates A Little Night Magic!
I don't usually care for short stories as much as I do novel length books, but as I noticed this held two short stories that are part of the Southern Ghost Mysteries series, I just couldn't resist. I read Skeleton in the Closet (book 2) recently, and I enjoyed them so much, I just had to read more. Short stories or not, this series by Angie Fox does not disappoint. I might just have to try her other series as well. If you want to put a smile on your face and you are ready for a light hearted romp, then check out this and other books by Angie Fox. I am so glad I did!
A Little Night Magic is a must read by Angie Fox! Verity, and her gangster ghost, Frankie are solving mysteries, Lizzie, Grandma and Pirate along with a gang of biker witches are fighting demons while in New Orleans a dead man is given another chance at love. All these stories are well written, when the action happens it is fast and intense. This collection of novellas will grip you until the end.
What a treat! Angie Fox’s new anthology- A Little Night Magic- is made for her fans! What fun to get extra stories about beloved characters. A little sumpin’ sumpin’. For readers who haven’t yet discovered Angie’s books, the anthology is a delightful introduction to engaging characters who find their ways out of dicey situations in creative and of course paranormal ways, well mostly. Sometimes it just takes love.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love Angie Fox, and this anthology of her short stories is a fantastically good time. There are a couple short stories from my favorite of her series, the Demon Slayer series, and two from her newest series, that is quickly becoming one of my favorites, the Southern Spirits series. I highly recommend this to everyone.
All of these wonderful stories by Angie Fox all in one place. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of these stories. They are fun and entertaining. This is an amazing opportunity to get to meet the characters that I have come to love. There are biker witches, people who can communicate with ghosts, and lots of other interesting personalities in these pages. Be sure to take this opportunity to read all of these wonderful and engaging stories.
