Since the late nineties his services have been employed by the publishing industry in such sectors as sport and entertainment. He is also a keen rock music fan and has played guitar in various local bands.
Born in Kingston-upon-Hull in the county of East Yorkshire, he moved to North Lincolnshire in 2011 to be with his then future wife, Lindsay. He has four children and two stepchildren.

A very short and spooky little read. David Patzpowski is enjoying breakfast at his usual diner, when a stranger joins him at his table and doesn’t even ask if he minds, now this really annoys David, I mean what is this guy thinking, intruding in David’s space when there are plenty of empty tables? Well, David is about to find out, and so are we!
For a short story it managed to pack a real punch, especially that ending!

Well...This is a Treasure!
Came across this in my library, today. Don’t know how long I’ve had it, but felt it was time to read it.
Although he doesn’t look like it...David is lucky enough to get everything he wishes for. Everything!

I so enjoyed this strange little book. This is a such a prime example of good things coming in small packages.
So David is just a regular Joe, sitting at the diner eating a meal..when a strange man sits silently down across from him.
Obviously, David is baffled as to what the guy wants. So are we, the readers.
The man across from David wants David to answer a question for him. Does he think he has been lucky in life? Well.. actually David HAS been lucky. Things have always gone his way. And he knows it.
No more..no spoilers..let's just say irony plays a huge role in this short story.
This was fun. I will look for more of the author's work and highly recommend.

A very short story that certainly packs a punch. Who is the uninvited man who sits opposite David while he eats a cholesterol laden Full English in a cafe? How and why does he know everything about him? What unfolds is intriguing to say the least and I like the dark humour of the final paragraph!

Be Very Careful
Maybe I’m just easily amused, but I loved this short story about a mostly very “lucky” man.
The story was well written, flowed smoothly and you understand the main character and his motivations… such as they were. Well done quick read.

"Be Careful What You Wish For" by A.C. Hutchinson is a fabulous short story. At just 11 pages I have never read anything this short that completely caught me off guard.
The story revolves around two guys having a conversation at a diner during breakfast.
The story is well written and executed beautifully. The characters (both of them) carry themselves off as having a real conversation until a certain revelation is made.
Well worth a read and it will not disappoint.

Yes. I know that I just reviewed a different short story by this author but I can't review that one and not review this one. I have to share this one with you. Another great piece from this author. Well written with excellent characters. Definitely one that was thought out. Surprising end.
I am rating this short story Four Stars because I found myself a little upset about the length. Well developed to be so short. I wholeheartedly feel that the premise could have been used towards a longer piece. Once again impressed with the way that the author draws the reader in. Will be keeping an eye on him. It will be interesting to see what he has for us later on. Will be recommending.

Although this story was promoted as 'horror', there's no creepy atmosphere at all.
This has to do with the writing style which spells out e-ve-ry single thing.
Just like in photography, the most important is sometimes what's left out.
Or in the case of a story: the things that stay unsaid.
Those often add much more than all the written words together.
There's a reason why "reading between the lines" is a common saying.

Not for me
This was in no way scary or creepy to me. Was this a child's tale? Just didn't work for me in the horror short story department. Choices of words, the storyline itself...I've read much better Angel of Death tales.

Very short story but I thoroughly enjoyed it. No problem reading this one from front to back in one sitting. I don't think I've ever read this author before but I will try another book or two.

A short little story about a guy whose hard wishes always come true. His last wish also comes true: that his wife's wish to come true - granted (him to drop dead :-)) )

Definitely short but what a great story. The ending was a surprise and packed a punch. Short stories are tough to write but Hutchinson did it well.

"Be Careful What You Wish For" (2015) by A.C. Hutchinson is a terrific short story about wealthy, successful, chubby, unattractive David, who’s sitting by himself at a diner and is joined by a stranger who knows all about him. The stranger knows the secret to David’s success and is there to grant a wish David made just that morning. It’s a great story I downloaded for free and read in fifteen minutes. Highly recommended.

Karma Comes Calling

This story says a lot in very few pages. It's humorous, surprising, and nostalgic in a way that harkens back to the "Twilight Zone." I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The story was full of suspense, and I loved the twist the end. Be careful what you wish for indeed! The author did a great job capturing David's personality.
