About the Author:
Judith Viorst is the author of eight collections of poetry and five books of prose, including the bestseller Necessary Losses and her comic novel, Murdering Mr. Monti. She has also written twelve children's books, among them the classic Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. A graduate of The Washington Psychoanalytic Institute, she is the recipient of various awards for her journalism and psychological writings. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband, political writer Milton Viorst. They have three sons.

He's starting conversations with me when I'm reading.I also think that "The New Alphabet" is a perfectly humorous and true description of later life: "A's for arthritis." "S is for sleepless nights counting my fears." Fun to read with quite a few laugh-out-loud moments!
He's chiming in when I talk with my friends on the phone.

So I won't have to shop alone. I like alone.
