These three authors are on my favorites list and I love to read their stories and how they manage to tie them each together with a common thread. In this case, it's a hotel. The Mariposa Hotel is in a great tourist town in California and is fairly new to town. A wishing well sits in the garden and is the source of many great wishes.

The book begins with the story of Mari, a hotel maid. That would definitely be a hard job to do, but Mari is very good at it and is specifically requested to take care of a certain room. The room is so spotless that it seems a ghost lives there. I love the way the story plays out, showing a great, strong female lead, who is determined to make her own way in life. I really admire Mari and love the romance angle--love doesn't always come in the expected package.

Keeping with the hotel theme, the second story tells about Ridley and Brooke. Ridley used to work as a hotel concierge and steps right in to help while staying there for his job. While "working," he meets Brooke, another guest. In this case, both characters are assumed to be something they're not and there are some laugh-out-loud moments that happen because of this. People can't always be put in a little, tiny box and the journey and discoveries are great! I laughed, I sighed with contentment, and I swooned a little. The Tom Hiddleson references didn't hurt.

What other job could possibly relate to a hotel? Raegan is the hotel's events coordinator and after assuming a few things about a big Hollywood producer, she, too, discovers that things (and people) are always how they seem to be. Kevin is a great guy with an undeserved reputation. Here again, there are swoony moments, misunderstandings, and a great journey of self-discovery.

The Mariposa Hotel is full of sweet, clean romance in a fabulous setting. Really...how can you go wrong with a beach? I loved the characters and the fun stories that left me feeling good and happy. This is one that I finished reading with that happily ever after sigh of contentment.

Content: mild romance (kissing, some vaguely implied events); nothing else of note. Clean!

This is another Tangerine Street book that I wrote with Heather Moore and Julie Wright. I wanted to write a story about Tom Hiddleston, but I restrained myself and wrote him into the story as a minor character who doesn't actually show up. But I think it's pretty funny. And I love writing stories in this seaside town. Super confident Ridley meets his match in Brooke, who is not at all what he expects. :-)

This is the third and last of the confusingly-attributed books by three authors telling three stories. You don't have to read them in order, or anything, because they're only barely related at all (though some of the characters from others stories do show up occasionally). If you're only going to read one, read the second book as I think it's the best. I'm going to take it easy on this review and rely on a) it's a lot like the other two and b) read my notes/updates if you want more individual takes.

Suffice to say that in aggregate, I'm calling this three stars. The second and third stories are a declining experience, which makes it feel like the book goes more downhill than it really does. If you don't mind cutting it up and reading only part of the book, you're best off taking in the first story and being content...

I wrote one of the novellas in THE MARIPOSA HOTEL with co-authors Melanie Jacobson and Julie Wright. What I love best about writing these Tangerine Street Romances is that each book has just a touch of magic realism... and it's up to the reader whether or not to believe in dreams coming true and good things happening.

The Ghost of 913
Mari, a hotel maid working to pay college tuition and studying criminology, notices the tiniest details and is intrigued by the "ghost" who barely leaves a trace in his room. U.S. marshal Grant is involved with witness protection and feels he can't share details about his work with Mari which sets the scene for misunderstanding as they instantly connect but his job eventually gets in the way.

My favorite story of the three, I loved the dimension to each of the characters. Mari and Grant both have deeper struggles they are working to overcome and find healing in their relationship with each other. I also appreciated that they took a week or two to get to know each other before diving into a romance.

Butterfly Kisses
Ridley, acclaimed photographer who subs as concierge while in town shooting a surf competition meets Brooke, a plastic surgeon trying to recruit doctors to join her on a charity trip to repair cleft palates. Both make assumptions about the other based on stereotypes without getting the whole story, but end up falling for each other as they entertain what was supposed to be just a fling.

This story seemed a little more "surface" to me as Brooke and Ridley flirted with each other despite the stereotypes they each disdained about the other. They did share some pretty romantic moments, but there wasn't a foundation of trust behind their initial relationship.

Dreams Come True
Regean is the hotel events manager handling a charity gala for Hollywood producer KC Woods with a demanding assistant, but when she meets Kevin in the lobby, accepts a date only to discover later he is one and the same. More mistaken assumptions complicate things but Reagan bravely gives him a second chance and helps him smooth out some family drama that followed him to the hotel.

I liked the chemistry between Kevin and Reagan, even though it moved pretty quickly. There was a decent balance of physical attraction and appreciation of personality. The fact that Reagan stepped out of her comfort zone to embrace the romantic moments with Kevin made their relationship more special. The subplot of Kevin's family drama rounded out the story nicely.

The Mariposa Hotel is the third installment of the Tangerine Street Romance series and it is probably my favorite one.

This novel revolves around the Mariposa Hotel and the first story is The Ghost of 913. Mari is such a strong character and she's been through some difficult things in life already. She's specifically asked by her boss to take care of Room 913 and when she goes in, it doesn't look like anyone's really stayed there. When she looks closer, however, she sees that the pillows are arranged differently, or the lamp is skewed, just little things like that. It becomes a little game between her and Grant, the U.S. Marshal who is actually staying there. Things get complicated, though, when Grant and Mari get closer and his job gets in the way. A sweet story of misunderstandings on the road to love.

The second one was Butterfly Kisses. Ridley is a world-renowned surfing photographer, but he pinch-hits as a hotel concierge for his friend who is the Mariposa hotel manager in a bind. During his concierge time, he meets up with the beautiful woman he'd seen car-dancing on the way to the Mariposa Hotel. She's a bundle of contradictions, (a do-gooder plastic surgeon. Those are hard to find!) and he wants to get to know her better, but misunderstandings abound when he doesn't tell her he's not exactly a concierge. It was a cute story with an underlying spread good in the world theme that I really enjoyed.

The last one was Dreams Come True. For a short story this one had a lot of depth. Reagan is the events coordinator at the hotel and she is dreading having a famous film producer come and stay, but he's sponsoring a big event so she's put up with his obnoxious personal assistant. When she meets Kevin, she has no idea who he is and is stunned to find out he's the guy she was dreading having to deal with. So many misunderstandings that ultimately lead to a fun and sweet love story.

I thought all the stories had very relatable characters, a great setting, and a fun theme. There were sigh-worthy kisses and just enough romance to leave you with a smile.

I love this series. The Mariposa Hotel is the latest in this series of Tangerine Street. The three stories in this book, are fun and sweet. As with all novella's I wish the stories were longer!! One of the interesting things about this book is how each story has characters who assume things about each other and the only thing to straighten it out is a face to face chat.

The Mariposa is a hotel that sits on the beach which makes for some fun scenes. It also has a magic wishing well that grants wishes immediately.

In the first story Ghost of 913, one of the maids working at the Mariposa finds a room seeming to be occupied by a ghost. I like how the two characters start to interact with each other without having even met. I like how Mari is determined and has things she wants to do and is a strong girl who has seen some of life and has brought herself to a good place.

The second story Butterfly Kisses Ridley is a Plastic Surgeon who has a huge heart and works in Beverly Hills in order to do humanitarian aid in a 3rd world country. She meets someone who on the surface isn't who he really is. They work through some misconceptions and come to a friendly understanding. Again the young woman is a strong person who is happy with who she is.

The third story Dreams Come True deals with parental abuse and abandonment. Reagan is the events coordinator at the Mariposa and also a strong character. She meets a film producer who she assumes is a jerk but finds out how wrong she is. The story touches on parental abuse and neglect. But it is also sweet and fun.

It was a fun quick clean read!! Great job ladies I can't wait to read the next one.

I loved this novella collection! All three stories had great romances! They are all a little on the quick side but that is to be expected with the nature of a novella. I felt like even though the romances were the instant attraction/falling in love type of story, the characters also got to know each other in depth to some extent. And even though there were some miscommunications to bring a little drama to the story they were resolved without some of the major angst that a longer story would probably have. Which makes me happy because there's nothing I dislike more than for miscommunication to ruin a good love story. :D

I really love this series and always look forward to the next book. Each book takes place at a different establishment on Tangerine Street. I totally want to visit this seaside town, it sounds like perfection. Each of these three stories was very unique, I liked that they all took place around the hotel and had that consistency throughout the whole book. There are some great romances and swoony moments, just an overall fun escape. Look forward to many more books in this series!

What a fun book. I loved all three romances. They each seemed completely impossible but love triumphs in the end. I have liked all the books in this series. Clean, sweet, fun romances with a little sass and kick.Lots of great kissing scenes:} Each of these stories takes place around the mariposa hotel and each involve the beautiful wishing well. Each story was unique and didn't have much to do with the others. You can read the books in order or out of order.

It’s no secret that I read a lot, so when I get my hands on anthologies, I’m thrilled because I get several stories in one book; it’s like a treat to this book-a-holic. Julie Wright, Melanie Jacobson and Heather B. Moore each spin a wonderful, clean and inspirational romantic tale. The Mariposa Hotel is a great read because it takes three separate characters and connects them in one beautiful hotel complete with a beautiful three-hundred-year-old wishing well brought from Mexico. With a toss of a coin and a well placed wish, three couples find true love.

Ghost of 913

Mari is working as a hotel maid trying to work her way through college in order to attend law school and she gets the lucky job of cleaning room 913. She’s lucky because it’s as if the occupant is a ghost, leaving not even a fingerprint behind. Lucky for Mari, her “ghost” is living and happens to be a very good looking U.S. Marshal. Grant helps protect witnesses in the Witness Protection Program; he is very organized and pays attention to detail. When he discovers that Mari is just as detail oriented as him, and she’s beautiful, he perks up and pays attention. Still trying to pick up the pieces from her previous marriage, Mari is a little leery of the secretive man that is working his way into her heart, and unless he starts to open up Grant will find her walking away.

Butterfly Kiss

The surfers love the waves at Seashell Beach and as a professional photographer Ridely goes where the waves are good. He just happens to live in Seashell Beach and gets to enjoy the patrons of the Mariposa Hotel. His friend, who runs the hotel, finds himself short a concierge, and Ridely volunteers to step in to help. As luck would have it, a beautiful woman steps through the door and instantly catches his eye. However, his mind becomes clouded with judgments and Ridley finds he's making mistake after mistake with Brooke and realizes that she may be more than just a weekend fling. Brooke is swept off her feet by the good looking concierge, as their whirlwind relationship starts to blossom it comes clear that Ridely is hiding something and he’s not just a concierge after all.

Dreams Come True

Regean holds down a very stressful job as hotel events manager, but she enjoys every minute of it and wouldn’t have it any other way. When it’s time for a charity gala for KC Woods, a Hollywood producer, she does what she does best and prepares for it. However, KC just happens to have a very bossy and secretive assistant who demands on chocolate covered strawberries and a shared room waiting for them. Regean must learn to look past her preconceived opinions and open up to the possibility of dating KC Woods and maybe she’ll realize that there is more to a story that what meets the eye.

3.5 stars. I liked it.

This is a set of three novellas, love stories that all involve the Mariposa Hotel. They were short and sweet, all clean romance (meaning no sex) but with passionate kisses. By the time I got to the third story, I felt like I was kind of reading the same thing. Strong & independent heroine, misunderstood but equally strong hero. Because these are novellas, they fall in love really quick. It's the nature of the genre, I think.

Part One: Ghost of 913. I think I enjoyed this one the most. It was well-written. Our main character, Mari, is a maid in the hotel, trying to earn her way through law school. She gets assigned a room that is totally clean and it looks like no one is really staying there. They meet and the sweet moments begin.

Part Two: Butterfly Kisses. I struggled with this one the most. Not because of the story line but because of how the main character was portrayed. She was a beautiful doctor in her late twenties, who specialized in plastic surgery. She has a non-profit and an established practice and is coming to teach new surgical procedures for cleft palate at the conference in the hotel.

So, my husband just finished his medical training. He went to school for 14 years. He is just starting his practice. He, and all the other doctors in his class, are now focusing on building their practices and paying off debt. And they are in their thirties. It was just so far fetched for me to believe that this character could be done with that much schooling, already be in a lucrative practice, start a non-profit, AND be in a spot where she is teaching other surgeons, and be beautiful all by her late twenties. No way. If she was in her forties, that I would believe.

So once I started reading about the main character, it was just frustrating. But that would start a rant on how the public views doctors, so I'll spare you.

I will say it was a well-written story and if you or someone close to you isn't a doctor, you will probably really enjoy the story.

Part Three: Dreams Come True. Here we meet Reagan, an events coordinator at the hotel. She is coordinating an event for a non-profit and has some preconceived ideas about the founder of the non-profit. When she meets him, her views change and it's a great little romance.

I am thankful for the chance to read and review these novellas. If you only have a few minutes to spare to read, these are perfect little reads that you can read in one night. If you like clean romance, with passionate kisses, than I can highly recommend these well-written stories.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed going back to Tangerine Street and peeking into the lives of employees at the Mariposa Hotel.

The first story is about Mari, who is a maid at the hotel, and is also taking online classes to realize her dream of being an attorney. She doesn't have much time for men (especially with an ex that treated her badly) until she meets the US Marshall and he sparks something in her to give men another chance.

The second story is not really about an employee - Ridley steps in as concierge as a favor to his long time friend, and manager of the Mariposa. He is really a photographer and is there to capture a surfing contest. But he meets Brooke, a plastic surgeon whose passion is helping those in 3rd world countries and are born with cleft palates. Needless to say neither of them is who the other thinks they are.

The last story is about Raegan who is the events coordinator for the hotel (and she is friends with Mari from story 1) who is organizing a charity event for a well known producer, but she doesn't realize who he is when they first meet. He has issues of his own with his sister's past behavior and trying to keep his niece from going down the wrong path.

All of these stories have strong women who realize that maybe there is more to live than work/school and perhaps love can balance out the work aspect. Since all of these are novellas, the relationships move rather quickly (in a matter of days) but they are all clean romantic interludes.

The only "issue" I had with this book is the flow from story to story. While they are all independent of each other, Mari appears in all 3 stories. Now normally that wouldn't be a big deal. But as I am reading each story it seems like the time frames happen one after the other, which would seem normal. However, in story 1, Mari is fired from her job as a maid yet in story 2 and 3 she is still a maid. I think if they had put this story last it would have had a better flow time wise (imagining all 3 taking place over a few months time span) because when Mari pops up in story 2 and 3, I couldn't figure out how she would be there if she was fired in story 1. If the events that happened in stories 2 and 3 were mentioned in story 1, maybe it would have made more sense, but I truly imagined story 1 taking place in say April, story 2 in May and story 3 in June (or something like that). So you can see where it might feel weird to the reader to have Mari show up as a maid when we know she was fired in story 1!

Other than that the book was an enjoyable read and a great addition to the Tangerine Street series.

This is part of the Tangerine Street Romances. It contains three novellas, all set at the Mariposa Hotel. An old wishing well, brought from a small town in Mexico is featured in each story. I loved the whole legend surrounding the well and the wishes made there.

Ghost of 913…Mari, a maid at the hotel, is asked to clean room 913 for the duration of a guests stay. When she goes to the room, it is spotless, with very little evidence someone has even been there. She begins to think of the room’s occupant as her ghost.

Mari is a strong, independent woman. I liked her personality. I also loved that she always referred to her ex-husband as “the bad decision,” never by name. Grant is such a great guy! I loved how he left little puzzles for Mari in the room. And that last scene!! So sweet!

Butterfly Kisses…As a favor for a friend, Ridley fills in as concierge at the Mariposa. He finds a way to interact with Brooke, the girl he noticed earlier, through that role. He soon realizes that what starts out as a possible weekend, vacation relationship could be more.

This was a cute romance with each making a lot of assumptions about the other. Brooke has such a big heart! And Ridley is so fun and definitely knows how to woo a woman. And of course, I loved Tom Hiddleston’s part in the story!

Dreams Come True…Raegan is the events coordinator at the Mariposa. They have booked a charity gala that will have many Hollywood celebrities attending. After all, the charity was started by Hollywood producer KC Wood. When Raegan meets Kevin, a couple days before the gala, she is immediately intrigued, until she finds out he is KC Wood.

This was another story showing that stereotypes and assumptions aren’t always correct. I also liked the examples of overcoming odds. And the romance was great!

I really enjoyed all of the novellas! Definitely all sigh worthy! Each romance took place at the hotel, but each was unique. I had one issue with the collection. At the end of the first story, Mari no longer works at the hotel, but she’s in the next two stories working there. So, I guess the stories were taking place during the same time period? I’m really not sure. I like seeing characters I know in other stories, but from my perspective Mari didn’t work there anymore, so it was just weird. I loved the collection though, and would definitely recommend it!

*3.5 stars*

Although I haven't read previous editions of the Tangerine Street series, I still really enjoyed this. This has three novellas by three different authors in it which all have one thing in common: they all take place in a little hotel called The Mariposa and they all make wishes in The Mariposa's wishing well. The wishing well has a legend that the butterflies on the well will carry true wishes to heaven to be granted when someone drops a coin in the well. Each story tied into the wishing well and it was neat to see how a simple legend could touch multiple lives.

The three novellas range from a more crime element story to an events planner/Hollywood star to a doctor's story all with some romance thrown in. At least one of these stories should touch a reader and they're all entertaining and hold their own storylines. Although personally the first story was my favorite. It was also neat to see some characters interweaved into the different stories, crossing into other character's lives as well as starring in their own novella.

Each novella was well-written and developed well enough within its limited pages. Some of the characters in stories were better developed than others. I also thought that the last story lacked some of the depth and details it would need to have to carry such a heavy plotline. If it the writer had had more pages to work with, I think the plot would have been better executed but it was still a thoughtful, touching plotline.

Likes: Easy, clean reads. Unique storylines interwoven around the same hotel and same wishing well were neat to read. I liked seeing some characters cross over into each story.

Dislikes: Last storyline lacked some depth and details I feel it would need to have to carry such a heavy plot point. Some spelling/grammar errors in each.

Overall:
Recommend? Yes. Especially for clean romance lovers.

I have read all three books in the Tangerine Street Romance series. They are all stand alone books, but the characters and places are mentioned in all three stories, which I really like.

I love that these authors have come together to write about a town's different stores. They are all very descriptive which makes me feel like I'm right there along side them.

The Mariposa Hotel is written by 3 authors in 3 novel parts. Each short novel features different characters and stories all centered around the hotel.

Part 1: Ghost of 913 (17 chapters)
Mari works at the hotel and meets a hotel guest who she calls the "ghost" because he's really clean. She later finds out he "sort of" works in law enforcement. I really liked this story! I found it sweet and interesting.

Part 2: Butterfly Kisses (9 chapters)

This was my least favorite story of the 3 three novels. I felt it had way too much drama and petty misunderstandings between the characters. Brooke was upset towards the end because she felt that Ridley wasn't honest with her about his job, but she didn't tell him about her job and volunteer work either. That was just one of the misunderstandings. The story had alot of good parts though.

Part 3: Dreams Come True (15 chapters)
I really liked this story as well. Raegan is the hotel events coordinator and meets a guest, Kevin who is a high profile movie producer. She helps his family and along the way they fall in love. A little bit of drama in this one, but lots of fun and romance.

This is the third book in the series of novellas based in a California beach town named Seashell Beach. It is a stand alone. It did have some small references to characters from the other books. The first story is about a US Marshall and a hotel maid. His room is on her cleaning route and he keeps his room spotless but challenges her powers of observation by changing small things. The two eventually meet and a friendship and romance begins. The next story is about a photographer/ concierge and a plastic surgian. Both make quick judgements about the other based on prejudices they each had. Once they get past the prejudices, the sparks begin to fly and a romance developes. Can the romance last past the weekend?
The last story is about the hotel events coordinater and a famous film producer. The two feel a pull towards each other from the first meeting. Raegan thinks Kevin is a pampered rich Hollywood socialite but learns later that she is very wrong. She helps Kevin put his family back together. I enjoyed all three stories. It was fun to go to the beach especially ths time of year. If you want a grat escape I recommend this book.

I was given a copy to review. This book was a fluffy romantic read. I definitely love the concept of this book and the previous ones, where different stories are taking place in the same vicinity. It was cool to see characters from the previous stories pop up. The first story 'Ghost of 913' I have to say was the most well written. All the romance in the book are quick, but I thought the first was a bit more believable. Although I enjoyed the last one 'Dreams Come True' most, I felt there was so much unresolved issues that it just ended abruptly. Overall it's a book that delivered its purpose of being a quick breezy read, but I personally enjoyed 'The Boardwalk Antique Shop' more.

The Tangerine Street series are excellent. The books are fun to read and have interesting characters that I like. This is the third book in the series, but each can be read as a stand alone.

This book centers on the Mariposa Hotel. There are three stories that deal with guests and employees of the hotel. I enjoyed each story. I don't know that I could pick out a favorite, because all were well written and had great characters.

The books of this series are ones that I would highly recommend. They all have great stories that leave you feeling good at the end. They are also clean romance.

Ghost of 913: This was well written and an interesting concept of Mari and Grant meeting through her working at the hotel and him staying there as a guest but as a U.S. Marshal staying there while protecting a witness, something he kept from her for quite a while that ended up causing a rift, which kinda bugged me because he seriously, in all reality, could have said something to her about what his job is without compromising anything. However, the rest of the story and the characters and the setting were well done and I enjoyed the little play they had back-and-forth, before and after they met, with Mari cleaning his room that didn't really need to be cleaned. I enjoyed the tie-ins from the other 2 books, though it seems that this one didn't quite introduce the magical element of the wishing well as well as the other 2 books did introducing the magical elements of their settings, so I wanted a little more there that fell short. Still, a great, entertaining story that kept me reading and cheering for both the characters and their relationship.

Butterfly Kisses: This was a cute story, full of misunderstandings and incorrect assumptions on both sides of the main characters. I enjoyed their interactions, their personalities, the setting, and how the beginnings of their romance unfolded. The flirtations and the things that Ridley set up for Brooke to relax (I'm pretty sure I've read in at least one of the other novellas from this group of authors about Tom Hiddleston but I'm not sure which author it is, but I think she definitely has an obsession with that actor -- ha ha). There is a slight cross-over over characters from the first part of the book and only a little bit of the magic wishing well. Fun and enjoyable story.

Dreams Come True: Reagan is a character that is included in other stories in this series, but now we get to read about her romance. She starts out with wrong assumptions about KC Wood, a famous Hollywood film producer coming to stay at her hotel, and when she realizes he's the same person as Kevin, the hot hotel guest she helped check in, she struggles with trying to reconcile her feelings, her instincts, her impressions, and her assumptions about him and Tiffany. There is a lot going on in this story. Each character is dealing with their own issues and then trying to connect with each other. The charity event is a big connection for them all. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions and struggled a bit with their

I don't know which of the three authors wrote which part of the story. I also felt like the wishing well and the magic part of the story (compared to the magical elements and the location in the other 2 books) weren't as prominent in this one, didn't play as big of a role in the stories. I still enjoyed the stories and would love for there to be more stories in this series featuring some of the other places on Tangerine Street and Seashell Beach.

For some reason our library only has the 1st and 3rd in this series. No idea why. And as in the 1st one, my personal preference was the 1st and the 3rd story. The second one is a little edgier. Some innuendo and a reference to sexually transmitted disease.

But the stories are cute and it makes me want to visit Tangerine Street. I found I missed the Fortune Cafe since I got attached to it in the first book. In this book they got take out from the cafe but didn't ever read the fortunes so there was a loss of additional magic for me.

Cute stories for escapism - beautiful Mariposa Hotel with its wishing well that seems to work. Grant, who is protecting a woman in the witness protection program, falls for Mari, part time maid and working towards law degree.
Ridley, photographer, meets beautiful blond at hotel. He gets called by friend to fill in as concierge. She is Dr for Smiles from the Heart, and is there to recruit other plastic surgeons
Raegan is event coordinator, and KC Wood hires to manage an event at the hotel. She gets impression that he is arrogant and living with a 20 year old.

This series has 4 books, each with 3 short stories. They are fun, light and the perfect relaxing summer read. All the stories are set in a cute, quaint, magical little beach town! I totally want to go to the beach now! The characters intertwine through the stories so you feel like you're catching up on an old friend and you feel like you're a part of this amazing little town. (Not so much that you have to read the books in order though - the stories stand alone enough that the order doesn't matter.) I highly recommend this series! 😊

I went up but probably more like a 3.5 . Just nice, short and sweet novellas that leave you with a smile and a warm heart. Call me lame but I love reading about people finding someone to love and who loves them back just as much.

It seems that if you want to find love, you have to stay at the Mariposa Hotel.
