I really enjoyed this book. It was faithful to the film. Makes me want to watch it all over again. Since I saw the film first, I knew the ending, but it was still an impressive and masterful twist to the story. When watching the film, I never guessed the outcome until it's revealed at the end.

"The Sixth Sense" by M. Night Shyamalan's really kept me interested throughout the whole book with all of it's mysteries of the dead people and how Cole goes through so much to help them cross over. Cole is one of the few that saw the plane crash next to the museum he had been in, unfortunately he seems to be the only one that can see the dead people from the crash. Some of them are very confused and don't have a clue that they have died, the others want Cole to help them. Cole is only a little boy and has a lot on his shoulders with all the dead people he has to deal with. They never leave him alone, they sometimes attack him, some are surprisingly really nice. But no matter what, Cole will help them just to get them off his shoulders.
Cole is the main character and the way the author wrote him as was perfect. His role in the whole book was extremely interesting, the way he deals with his mom, the dead people, his friends, and the psychologist. He is very mature for his age and knows what exactly to say and he is very brave. He basically keeps his mom going, he doesn't show that he is afraid of the ghosts, he keeps his secret from his friends and he is very calm when getting questioned by the psychologist and doesn't give in. All the other characters were well written as well. The mom and psychologists' attitude were really cool. His mom is very supportive of him. The psychologist kept his cool with Cole as much as he could and also was supportive of Cole and Cole's mom as well. Then all the ghosts complete the whole story, their parts were really good and all their stories were different and entertaining. The personality of all the characters really make the book. I think it was just perfect.
In my opinion this would be a really great book to read for anyone who is interested in mysteries. Who wouldn't want to read about a sixth sense when the majority of humans only have five senses. How amazing would it be to have a sixth sense? Crazy, scary but so much excitement and so different and unusual. There are so many different stories with each of the ghosts. This book is one of those books that you want to just keep reading. Then when finished with the book, there is a movie! I definitely recommend this book to be read, its just really fascinating how it all ties together.

Imagine you could see the dead all around you, every day, right there in front of you. What would you do? 8 year old Cole Sear is no ordinary boy, one with secrets and fears. Who didn’t want to share them with anybody because of what they would say. This is more than any human let alone an 8 year old boy can handle not sharing these visits with anyone but to keep them to himself and pray for it all to go away. The thing is Cole can’t control it. Cole is able to see beyond supernatural, he is able to see the dead. They come and go, they even speak to Cole. Whenever there present it gets cold and all he does is hide because he is frightened by their visitations. The only person who seems to understand young Cole is Malcolm Crowe who is a psychologist that helps children with their problems/ situations. Not only does he help Cole, but Cole helps Malcolm understand what went wrong in his own life.
Cole experiences scary terms of events and does not know what to do about them it’s like a never ending dream but by different people who are dead, that won’t leave until they finished what they needed to be done in the real world and the only way they could do that is by talking to Cole but he only comes to understand that when Malcolm Crowe psychologist believes what Cole is telling him is true. Dr. Crowe has worked with many children and only one he was unable to help until he met Cole, who has similar signs. Only then does Malcolm know how to help Cole.
I would consider recommending this book. I find its one of those books you don’t see what going to happen next. It shows you another world of things some people would not accept as the truth. It’s a mystery awaiting you. Would you believe Cole if he said he saw dead people?

As an English learning beginner,i found it a little difficult for me to understand every single sentence.but after reading the whole book,i think about its content and thoughts over and over again.it helps me to re-consider the real meaning of life and teaches me not to be afraid any more.
the main character cole is a poor boy who suffers from seeing dead people,in every day,he lives in the shadow of anxiety，without happiness at all.so his mother asked a psychologist to deal with his issues.during the process,they encouraged each other and grew up together.
the reason i want you to read is the impressive purpose of this book.maybe some of people will choose to see it by watching the movie,but that kind of feeling which indicates the readers change their attitudes towards life when they read this book by heart will hardly appear if you just have a look at the movie.somentimes people are not knocked down by others,but themselves--the fear and worry from the bottom of their heart make them feel hopeless and anxious.so do not be afraid any more,just like the character core in this amazing book---the sixth sense!

I thought the book was an excellent novelization of the movie. I particularly enjoyed how it went into depth about some of the scenes and let the reader understand more than what was shown in the movie. The ending and the build-up, in my opinion, were written very well and kept the reader engaged. So, it did not disappoint.

Hastily written after the film. A lovely example of specultive fiction. All is normal except that the seven year old is terrorised by dead people bullying and menacing him. I worry about the effects on a child actor of the traumatic content. Engaging and original. Not a literary masterpeice.

Disfrute muchisimo de esta novelizacion ya que es muy fiel a la pelicula. A medida que iba leyendo podia recrear en mi mente las escenas y eso hacia la lectura aun mas vivida. Es la primera vez que leo una novelizacion y la experiencia fue realmente grata.

Who doesn't love The Sixth Sense? I had no idea there was a book version out there. Did you?

Obviously written as a tie-in for the film, I was impressed that it actually stayed true to the film and nothing was cut out.

Coming in at 144 pages it was a quick one sitting read for me and was over all too soon.

'I see dead people'

I wasn't sure whether my enjoyment of the book would be ruined having seen the film on multiple occasions. It wasn't, and I even thought that the book was slightly more detailed than the screen version...just sayin'.

Cole an 8 year old boy is in the need of a good psychologist, he ends up being the patient if an award winning doctor called Malcolm Crowe. Malcolm was shot the year before by an old patient from a decade ago, he can't help but see the resemblance between his old patient and Cole. Malcolm doesn't want to fail Cole like he feels he did with his old patient so he keeps helping Cole only to find in helping Cole it reveals what is really going on.

In helping Cole it seems to have an effect on Dr Crowe's marriage and his wife gets very depressed and doesn't talk to him, she seems angry with him and never lets him in to her thoughts and feelings that he is trying to help her with.

Cole sees dead people all around him, all the time and can't get rid of them. Once he reveals this to Malcolm he feels better but is also still very scared. Malcolm suggests he listens to the ghosts and help them, then he would get some peace from them and they could to to where toy need to be.

He's also scared because Malcolm doesn't realise he is dead, he died when he was shot the year before. This makes Malcolm realise why his wife won't talk to him, why she won't listen to him.. because she can't see him because he is no longer living.

Great story with tons of description. The mood is set in a somber, dark tone with little dialogue and lots of descriptive language. M. Night Shyamalan creates a gripping and refreshing story. The characters are given reality and substance. I enjoyed the tone and ambiguity of this story.

The Sixth Sense follows Cole, a boy who is able to see and talk to dead people; and Malcolm, a child psychologist who tries to help Cole, but in the end it’s Cole who helps Malcolm.
