I thought that this was a nice easy to read book and the main points are:

1. Be positive
2. Do the important things you hate first, it will make the rest of the day go much better
3. Focus on your employees strengths so that they become great at them. Don't focus on weaknesses that they will just get passing on. For example: a saleswoman is good at face to face, but can't sale on the phone.
4. It is human nature to resist change and it goes through a cycle. Understand where they are in the cycle: objection, Reduced Consciousness, Exploration, Buy-in.
5. Manage agreements with people. Get their buy in.
6. Don't get stuck in firefighting.
7. Don't look at computer or phone when talking to someone. Be a good listener.

Most important Words:

5. I am prod of you!
4. What is your opinion?
3. If you please.
2. Thank you.
1. You.

This is Nonfiction/Business. I liked this one. It felt useful, but I'm wondering if there are actual management forces somewhere out there that say, "Hey. I have so much to learn about supervising, where do I start?" because that has not been my experience. My experiences look more like whack-a-mole.

As I listened to the audio I kept thinking how nice it would be to work for someone who believed in the unicorn wisdom of this book. It felt like fantasy land and I would love to live in that world. So 4 wishful stars.

1) Автор далёк от примитивного понимания мотивации как неких стимулов, с помощью которого можно "надавить" или "заманить" сотрудников. Мотивация - это сложная система условий труда, в которых первостепенное значение имеют взаимоотношения в коллективе (особенно между лидером/руководителем и рядовыми сотрудниками);

"Минусы":

The title is misleading: It isn't so much about motivating others directly, but rather leading them to motivate themselves.

For example, inspiring them through your own actions rather than telling them what to do.

Positively reinforcing desired behavior rather than criticizing bad behavior.

Encouraging ownership of a problem or task by allowing others to define their own methods and solutions.

Being happy with who and where someone is, to give them space & security to grow.

Managing agreements between adults, rather than re-parenting subordinates like children.

Never putting people on the defensive, to avoid pushback.

Gamifying and rewarding results, rather than activities.

Starting with praise and positivity, to acknowledge a colleague's strengths.

It's a book about leadership, prioritizing people and relationships, communication, workplace dynamics, human psychology, and getting the most out of your team! It's not rah-rah, but subtle and deliberate.

The author has more of a sales background, so most of the examples come from sales and marketing, but nonetheless also apply to other fields such as business and engineering!

Mounds of good advice. Don’t just read it: go practice it!

This book is a good format for taking a little management experience out of each short chapter. It takes the tone of a self-help book for managers at times, and I hesitate to call the advice scholarly more than I would call it pop-sociology or pop-psychology. However, the tone is one of a journal of advice from experienced and intelligent managers and, ego aside, they have some really good things to say. This is the sort of book I find myself quoting from occasionally when asked to describe my management style.

Çox böyük zövq alaraq oxuduğum, insan münasibətləri, liderlik, idarəçilik adına çox şey qazandığım dəyərli bir kitab oldu. Yazıçılara xüsusi minnətdarlığımı bildirirəm! 👏🏻☺️
Kitabda 100 yol göstərilsə də, əslində 101 üsul var idi və hər biri çox sadə və kankret izah olunduğundan heç yorucu ya da qarışıq səslənmirdi. Bu tərəfi çox sevdim. Digər bir məqam kitab daha çox biznes həyatı, İnsan resursları mütəxəssisləri, koç və mentor olmaq yolunda irəliləyən şəxslər, idarəçiliklə məşğul olanlar və eyni zamanda liderliklə müdirlik arasındakı fərqləri anlamaq istəyənlər üçündür. Həmçinin şəxsi inkişafa və düzgün ünsiyyət qurmağa meyilli şəxslərin də bəyənərək və qeydlər götürərək oxuyacaqları kitabdır.

🔶Kitabdan qazandıqlarım:
✔️ Qərarlılığın gücü inancın gücünə bərabərdir.
✔️ İnsan özü dəyişmək istəməsə, heç kimin ona kömək və ya təsir etməyə gücü çatmaz.
✔️ Hər verdiyimiz qərar, seçdiyimiz yol, kimliyimizin bariz nümayişçisidir.
✔️ Optimistliyi seçmək həyata çəhrayı eynəklərlə baxmaq demək deyil. Optimistliyi seçmək hər başımıza gələndə yaxşını görmək, fürsətləri dəyərləndirmək deməkdir.
✔️ Başqalarında görmək istədiyini özündə yaratmalısan.
✔️ Həyatını rutinlərlə dəyiş. Özümüzdə bəyənmədiyimiz hər tərəf bizim şəxsiyyətimiz deyil. Odur ki, özümüzü hər neqativə görə sıxmamalı, öz haqqımızda neqativ düşüncələrə keçməməliyik. Anlamalıyıq ki, vərdiş deyə bir şey var. Və bizlər bizlərdəki pis vərdişləri yeni rutinlərlə dəyişdirə bilmək qüvvəsinə malikik.

I found this book a little slow at times, but overall the advice provides a solid method to improve yourself and in the process improve others. 100 reasons is a lot, likely would require a revisit a couple of times to truly grasp all 100 methods.

I listened to the audio book and it's just okay. Just like the title says, it's 100 ways to motivate others.

I did not find this book all that interesting or helpful and I cannot recommend this book.

It was so uninteresting that it took me 20 days to listen to this book.

The content in this book is great. As you may know I prefer the audio versions. This title was one I selected from my audio app amongst about 30 in a free offer. I believe the author read the version I heard and it could have been a bit more passion in the reading.
