This book is a collection of alternate history stories edited by Mike Resnick... one of many, but this one doesn't have the word "alternate" in the title; perhaps Tor owned the copyright and Daw published this one. I thought the stories were just as good, for the most part, as those in the Tor-published volumes. I especially liked the stories by George Alec Effinger, Judith Tarr, and David Gerrold.
