Yūsei Matsui (松井優征 Matsui Yūsei?, born January 31, 1981 in Saitama, Japan) is a manga artist known for manga Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. He was an assistant of Yoshio Sawai, the manga artist of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Shirota Masakage made a cameo appearance in Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo).

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying this manga series, and the way it seems to be progressing. In a word, this series and the plot, is absurd, and if someone described the plot of this series to you sitting down over some coffee, you'd assume that it wouldn't work. But, it does. I like weird and wonderful, and I enjoy something different and light hearted as opposed to some of the rather heavy novels I've been consuming, as of late.
The main character here, Sensei, is so nerdy and really quite lovable, you can't help but feel for him, due to people attempting to assassinate him all the time. A couple of times in this book, the humour had me laughing out loud. The humour is pretty crazy, and I think that is why I get on well with this book, because I'm a little crazy, too.

You've got to love a series where the only person rooting for the academically struggling kids at this high school (who are all actively insulted and left behind by the school's principal) is the mysterious alien/assassin who's planning to destroy the earth and already destroyed most of the moon -- and is also the kids' teacher.

This series is just the right amount of crazy!

3.75 stars! this series continues to be a lot of fun, making me laugh but also making my heart so full. i just love how fun and fast-paced the plot is but the way the characters and their relationships are developing is so sweet.

This was a cool volume and like focuses first on a kidnapping attempt failed then with an assassin named Red eye trying to take down Koro while they are on a vacation and I loved that ch. and its so funny plus the way he changes lmao and a new perspective he gains.

And then the coming of the AI robot named Ritsu (later on) and how she changes and how Koro makes an impression on her was like the best story here and I am loving how the author explores that and brings humanity to those who don't have any and highlights the special qualities of Koro. Thats like easily the best part.

In others he helps a student teach his ex a lesson and a story highlighting Irina and I am loving the comedic moments there while also appreciation the hidden message underneath and also the art is funny when it focuses on Koro and his changing facial features and the way he dodges things. This manga is good and explore quite a lot of themes and philosophy and also highlighting the importance of teachers and how they mold students.

Third volume anymore of the same, with Koro Sensi continuing to be entertaining. Same basic set up. We begin with the last part of the school trip, and there's a new (robot) transfer student, Ritsu, who's a great character, there's a revenge plan and so on. Lots of fun! Maybe this dipped to 3.5 for me, not for the conception, which is great, but because things are settling in. But it's really good!

Short note here. I am continuing on with this series, since my library has them. I was home with a sick kid so I was glad to have this and my other books. Just another step along the Grade E classroom and their mission to assassinate their teacher before the end of the school year or it will destroy the world. In this one we have the second half of their school trip to Kyoto, and then after with a new student coming to class to help them kill the teacher. Of course by the end of this volume it is still alive and the students have learned more and bonded more. Got to get to the library and pick up the next volume.

I'm still enjoying this series more than I expected to. Yes, it's an absurd premise that shouldn't work. But somehow it does. Matsui brings just the right amount of tongue in cheek to the party. Although he does villainous things like destroying most of the Moon, and threatening to do likewise to the Earth, Koro Sensei is just so goofy and earnest and loveable that you just can't help but root for him. And, in these days of school shootings, the idea of students actively trying to kill their teacher is an incredibly dangerous one. But Matsui strikes a balance between comedy and tension, between slapstick and drama, that makes it all work. It's beautiful to watch it all unfold.

I didn't enjoy this one as much, but I like how it picks up where the last book ends up. I like Koro Sensei's development, and how he's starting to show feelings. I like that ending too, wonder what's going to happen with these assassins! Starting to get to know the characters, some of their background stuff. Quite a bit of focus on the romances though.

I LOVE this manga series it's my first real one but I simply can't get enough of it!!!! The character development for Nagisa is coming along great I believe. I love Karma's chaotic energy and how his mind is one-way "violence" I think it adds to the edgy aspect of the book.

as an aspiring teacher this is a lovely series to be reading and immersing myself in. Korosensei's students are meant to kill him because he'll otherwise destroy Earth as he did the moon but he's also one of the fairest and capable characters in fiction so he's hard to hate. in this one, a transfer student from Norway is introduced to the octopus's class but she arrived in the form of a highly weaponised robot. korosensei just fixes her software and she soon becomes one of the most wholesome students in his class despite having the best chances of killing the octopus. The teacher's top priority is for his students to learn as much as possible and to apply what they learn into real life situations which should be the purpose of all teachers and I have come to consider the octopus as quite the role model. he's always several steps ahead despite having several weaknesses which apparently only serve to shape his character. his face is pink when he's calm apparently since the colours represent different emotions and in my case, a person who despises the colour pink, it was quite embarrassing to read this in public although the story was worth it. He helps his students and almost reduces their willingness to kill him to zero considering how he's such a strategic character and how with him the mantra seems to be an eye for an eye. it's a funny series in how he has friendly chats with those who attempt to kill him and even congratulates them on their methods.

This will be a short review.

I really love this series, but I just notice that it is less fun to read the manga when you already have seen the story animated. It just lacks the fun, the voices and so much more suddenly. Most of this book is also animated by now, only one part seemed new and I was delighted to see it.

In this volume we have the last part of the school trip, a new transfer student, a revenge plan and more. It was all great fun, I especially liked the revenge plan, and the ending of that chapter was hilarious. I can only imagine the wrath he will get from his fellow classmates.

Ritsu, the new character, is a great character, and I was worried we would lose her, but instead she was smart and survived. I can't wait to see more about her. Hopefully she can still grow a bit more.

Koro-sensei, I am just laughing when thinking of him. He is hilarious, funny and a great teacher, but at times he scares the wits out of everyone. He can be pretty scary. We also find out some more about him in this volume and I appreciate it was added. It is still something that is unfamiliar. How did Koro-sensei become what he is today? What happened to him? I hope we will slowly find out.

We are also slowly learning more and more about the other teachers and also about the students.

The art is great and I really enjoy it. I like how the characters are drawn, they really pop of the pages.

Class 3-E’s unexpected run-in with dangerous thugs on their class trip and another hotshot pro assassin is taken care of by their almighty sensei. Back at school, the class gets a new exchange student in the form of a Norwegian A.I. in a giant kiosk-sized monitor who has zero social skills but masterful weapon skills. Yet of course, Koro-sensei helps her with that while educating his class how to master the art of revenge. For Miss Vich, she sharpens their assassin skills but later is confronted of her assassin skills until Koro comes to her rescue. A (100%/Outstanding)

In fitting with the theme of sympathetic monsters, this volume shows us that Koro-sensei can even win over a war-mongering AI.

There's just something so charming about an antagonist who's actually nicer than any of the people you'd conventionally root for. Koro plans to blow them all up, but he actively gives them advice on how their attempts to kill him failed. Delightful.

This volume kicks off with Chapter 17: Guidebook Time.

This was just so hysterical. Each volume just gets funnier. I hope that I won't have trouble getting future volumes from my library.
