Juiceman's Power of Juicing by Jay Kordich is one of my favorite books on juicing. It covers equipment, recipes, nutrition, and even has a section about juicing for specific ailments.

This little book is jam-packed full of information. My only complaint would be that is doesn't include pictures, but I'm willing to overlook that because of the thorough content.

Anyone who has seen the inspirational JuiceMan infomercials already has a rudimentary knowledge of power juicing.

On camera, the JuiceMan gives teasers such as, "Did you know that parsley is the 3rd most powerful food on the planet?"

Well what are #1 and #2 you're asking. You find out inside.

*spoilers*
Number 1 it turns out is bone marrow. Just as JuiceMan juicers are excellent for rendering previously unpalatable yet nutrient rich foods such as orange peels, why let old chicken bones go to waste?

So go down to your local library and pick up Juiceman's Power of Juicing. You'll love it. But... you don't have to take my word for it. Buh dum bum!

Ok so part of this book is the author telling you to buy into his belief's and lifestyle and the other part is him saying, "I know everyone won't be as extreme as me." That part aside, I am glad I got this book. It has lots of recipes for just stuff that tastes good to stuff that is good for you to stuff that can maybe help "cure" you.

I have an autoimmune disease and that bugs me to no end. I got a juicer because I decided I wanted to heal myself and this has been loads of help.

There is a section on different ailments and what can help them and then the different types of foods and what they can do for your body.

I'm glad I got this.

This was the first juicing book I ever bought, over 20 years ago. It is a yellowing paperback now. I bought it along with my first Juiceman Jr. Juicer (which still works to this day). It has plenty of juicing recipes, along with nutritional info about various fruits and vegetables. Nutrients are listed along with the produce that is richest in them. There is autobiographical information about Kordich and how he came to be the Juiceman after the Gerson juicing protocol healed him from bladder cancer in his 20's (he lived to be in his 90's, so that's a testimony for juicing if there ever was one!) There is a Q&A section at the end. It even teaches how to grow your own wheatgrass.

Kordich recommends everyone drink 6 glasses of fresh juice daily, with the first juice of the day being a fruit juice and the rest vegetable. I love his Christmas Cocktail recipe (made from one bunch of dark grapes, 2 apples and 1/4 of a lemon with the peel)-- sooo good!

This book was a bestseller in its day. There's a lot of great stuff in it. But not long before his death, he published Live Foods Live Bodies. I consider that one the best books on juicing out there. A lifetime of knowledge and experience went into it.

An older book on juicing but still filled with lots of good stuff. I especially enjoy books like this that include not only information on how-to, but also about what you are using. This book provides details on different fruits, veggies and herbs and how they benefit your health, along with recommendations on how they can help with certain ailments. Certainly good health must start with a good diet and the information provided in this book is a great and quick way to start down a healthy path. It would be nice to see this book updated for more modern times, including photos, but overall still a good place to start for those interested in adding juicing to your diet.

Jay overcame inoperable bladder cancer in his early 20's by drinking 13 glasses of carrot apple juice a day. He adopted a vegan diet and kept juicing all his life and lived past age 93.

That should speak for itself.

Lots of recipes, tips and good info.

If you want better health this is a book you should read.

Interesting, informative and a great guide to juicing......he lived to 93 so he definitely knew what worked for him. I will use this to create juice drinks to add to my current regime.

So after reading another book that talked about juicing and the power of the "green" juice, I thought I needed to get some more information to go with my fantastic juicer I had recently purchased and was experimenting with. The language Jay Kordich uses in the book is conversational and he covered almost all of my questions I had in regards to juicing. The other book I had read, even though it was published almost 20 years later (this book was originally published in 1992) had many of the same conclusions as to why juicing to get your veggies is an important way to be healthy. The recipe section is full of easy to follow instructions and even which fruits and veggies can be processed whole and which should have the skin removed. Another section I appreciated was chapter 5 where he discussed all of his favorite fruits and vegetables and why they are good for you along with how to best store them. In this current world where everything we buy is processed, it was a good refresher for me on how to properly store my veggies and fruit. His tip on "juice baggies" were he puts all the ingredients for a juice in a bag is also a big time saver as well.

I originally checked this book out from the library to do research on the benefits of juicing. I found it very helpful in explaining how to juice, what is good for our bodies and why. I ended up buying a juicer and a copy of this book. I've been juicing everyday since! I didn't give it 5 stars because I wish there were more recipes... there's a chunk of the book that has one recipe per page, so it looks like it would have a lot more in it.

I loved this book! I have the book published in 1992 and it an oldy but a goody! I also purchased a juicer and when I faithfully juice I feel amazing! Jay Kordich knows what he is talking about! Need more energy, juice! It really works! Plus you get an abundance of minerals and nutrition in juicing! Highly recommend!

I've just started juicing. I wanted to get a cookbook, and I am so glad I got this one. The recipes are simple and delicious. He also explains if a recipe is helpful for a particular thing like added energy or if you want to boost your immune system.

I highly recommend the Juiceman's Power of Juicing.

This was (sadly) the only book on juicing they had at the library, but in the end it convinced me to go out and buy the juicer I've been putting off buying. The recipes seem simple and easy and he has great tips and advice.

I like the juices, however, I don't like the way the index is set up. It's hard to find juices with specific fruits or veggies that you want to try.

Good juices. If I can make it more of a habit I will probably live forever.
