Maggie's Grove is a haven to supernatural beings of all shapes and sizes, a place where a vegetarian vampire can live in harmony with his shifter neighbors. Where witches form cliques, the mayor must to get his anti-sunlight beauty sleep between meetings, and the Friday night B-list creature feature fest is always jam packed.
Blood of the Maple (Maggie's Grove Book One) A seduction-gone-wrong leaves vampire Parker Hollis on the run from a vengeful witch. Moving to small-town Maggie's Grove, Parker meets a redheaded dryad with green, leafy blood that draws him in a way he hasn't experienced in decades. His new neighbor smells divine, and it isn't long before craving gives in to need. But when the witch who's been plaguing Parker discovers his newfound attraction, she takes out her anger on the town. Can the supernaturals of Maggie's Grove band together in time to withstand her assaults?
Throne of Oak (Maggie's Grove Book Two) Vampire Dragos Ibanescu, Mayor of Maggie's Grove, is about to lose his mind. His lover, the dryad queen Mina Chainey, refuses to have anything to do with him after her ordeal at the hands of an evil witch. But dark forces are converging on Maggie's Grove, and a horde of hunters stalk supernaturals from the shadows. Only by uniting in body and mind will Mina and Dragos find the strength to defend their home.
Dana Marie Bell wrote her first short story when she was thirteen years old. She attended the High School for Creative and Performing Arts for creative writing, where freedom of expression was the order of the day. When her parents moved out of the city and placed her in a Catholic high school for her senior year she tried desperately to get away, but the nuns held fast, and she graduated with honors despite herself.
Dana has lived primarily in the Northeast (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, to be precise), with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She lives with her soul-mate and husband Dusty, their two maniacal children, an evil ice-cream stealing cat and a bull terrier that thinks it’s a Pekinese.
This was a wonderful deal. 2 books in one for less than if you purchase them separately.
I have been a fan of Dana Marie Bell for a while now. I have read her Grey Court, Halle Pumas, Pocanos Pack, and Halle Shifters series multiple times. This introduction to her Maggie’s Grove Series definitely kept the bar high. Dana does a wonderful job of inserting some humor and quirkiness into her characters and story. It makes her books interesting and fun to read over and over. I will definitely be purchasing the next books to see what happens to the diverse and amazing characters in this fantastic world that I just have to learn more about. If you want to read a story with magic, adventure, a vegetarian vampire, and the one person meant for him, you will enjoy this book.
I originally got this because it was on sale and had decent recommendations. I enjoyed it so much I bought the other two books in the series. They are fun. Good plot and decent character development.
