Will Mabel ever share a slice of pizza with her beloved Waddles again? Then, when a prehistoric creature snatches up Waddles, it's up to the Gravity Falls gang to save him! Readers will love this 112-page chapter book filled with black-and-white art from the show.

Simply two episodes of Gravity Falls in book format. Although adorable, sweet and accurate, I feel that Gravity Falls stands better as a show. Still enjoyable and I highly recommend for kids and fans of the show that don’t mind reading their episodes.
This book is a nice short chapter book about how Mable and how she got her pig Waddles and also about Dipper and his time traveling adventure. This is a easy read and has some illustrations as well.
I love Gravity Falls so reading this book was very fun!!! I am very pleased with this book.
A fun retelling of the episode(s). Now with dads everywhere acting out the voices!
My four year old son is having an absolute blast reading through these GF books. He wants to know what's next, where's the adventure gonna go and of course how the gang is going to overcome the odds.
This book does a great job of creating scenes as if they were unfolding right before your eyes. Witty jokes, brief descriptions of settings, and best if all, it allows dialogue to create an ever evolving world.
More book story tellers could use these books as the standard of what basic story telling is at it's core.
Beginning, middle and end. There are character arches, lessons, and of course modern humor mixed into an adventure that gets us closer to understanding them and the world around them .
This was a delightful read that captured the whimsical spirit of the "Gravity Falls" series. The book's humour and charm made it a fun experience for fans of all ages. The characters were well-portrayed, staying true to their TV counterparts, and the story was filled with clever twists and engaging adventures. The illustrations added an extra layer of enjoyment, bringing the quirky world to life. While the book was a quick read, it was thoroughly entertaining and a great addition to the "Gravity Falls" universe.
This book is basically two episodes of the show in story form. It's a great little read, even if you know what's about to happen. But I love the show and would happily read or watch anything to do with it.
Part one of Once Upon a Swine features a story adaptation of Gravity Falls Season 1 Episode 9: “The Time Traveler’s Pig.” Twins Dipper and Mabel attend Grunkle Stan’s Mystery Fair where they bump in to a mysterious time traveling man. The twins borrow his time traveling device and try to keep reliving the day until Mabel can win her pig Waddles and Dipper can have the perfect day with Wendy. Things go a little crazy when they end up traveling too far back in time. Part Two features a story adaptation of Season 1 Episode 18 of Gravity Falls: “Land Before Swine.” Mabel leaves Waddles with Grunkle Stan. He is too busy with his Mystery Shack to babysit Waddles. He leaves Waddles outside and the pig gets carried away by a hungry pterodactyl. The gang has to work together to reunite Waddles and Mabel. Fans of the show will already know what is going to happen in the stories, but they should still enjoy the fast-paced text and black and white illustrations. The illustrations appear to be screen shots from the episodes. This would make a nice addition to a school or public library for 1st – 3rd graders looking for a fun read.
As a fan of gravity falls,I was excited to find this book at Savers for a great bargain and it has been sitting with my other books for a while. As I recently finished the other book I started reading this yesterday and I completed it before I went to bed.Granted it was exactly what happened in the show it was really good.
Uphill:
The characters were built the same way and they were crafted in the book in such a good way you forgot this was how they were crafted In the show! They also detailed the setting very well and helped me to imagine what and where the characters were.It was very good and I enjoyed reading it and hope you read it!
Downfall:
Some parts were kind of annoying as how they spelt words and as I am an American the way they spelt some words made me annoyed.I also couldn’t stand Soos! They made him extra annoying and granted he is supposed to be this sweet lovable guy in this story he is just Eerggg!!!!I can’t stand how he says the words and it makes me want to just stop reading.
Well, that’s all I have to say and I’m really happy that I read it and found it for $1 with all pages intact!!!Thanks for reading my review and time for me to fly!!!Bye!!

My fav characters are dipper n stan so far. Not interested on pig though😕. So far I laugh because of Stan 😂😂 he literally take the waddles pig outside 😂😂even though Mabel told him not to. If I have to pick pig or Wendy, meh - i rather see twins doing their adventure thing in different era.

Another adaptation of the Disney XD series, this installment novelizes the episodes "The Time Traveler's Pig" (where Dipper and Mabel acquire and feud over a time machine) and "The Land Before Swine" (where Stan rescues Waddles the Pig from a pterodactyl). These episodes fit together more awkwardly than Pining Away's two stories, aside from a nominal focus on Mabel's pig Waddles, but Tracey West's novelization faithfully renders them in a way that should appeal to the show's younger fans.
