In the heart of New Orleans, where magic and mischief intertwine, the Six Twisted Sisters find themselves embroiled in their most dangerous escapade yet.

With their trademark sarcasm and supernatural skills, the sisters lead the battle against malevolent spirits, work together to unravel ancient mysteries, and even make friends -- and foes -- of celestial beings.
Hold onto your hats, because the sisters are on a journey that will take you through a kaleidoscope of haunted hijinks, where the only way out is through. Can they banish the curse, save New Orleans, and still find time for a good laugh? Find out in the Six Twisted Sisters' latest adventure, where even angels have an attitude.
This is book forty-four of the Midlife Mysteries & Magic series and book eleven of the Twisted Sister Midlife Maelstrom series. In this story the Twisted Sisters are asked to help out with an issue of a wishing well in the local park, that instead of granting wishes, is twisting them into something evil instead, harming those who made a wish! It turns out the wishing well has been cursed by an ancient and evil witch, who was cast into it by a coven, hundreds of years before, in a effort to stop her power hungry and dark magic practices. On top of this they’re called into the center of New Orleans, to find some sort of temporal disturbance has loads of different supernaturals breaking the most sacred of rules of their world, doing magic and appearing in their true states in front of mundies! The witch behind the curse on the well was a master of dark magic and manipulated the elements to cause chaos and calamities all over the city. History shows that whilst she was alive, all manner of natural disasters occurred unexpectedly, and since her disappearance into the well, the curse has continued to harm people. The six sisters must find out as much as they can about this dark witch, as well as the location of the well itself, not something that is really best to do at night but time is running out as the dark witch becomes ever more powerful!
They soon find they have to call in extra help from Kaitlyn and even relic hunter Nylah and djinn Kevah, but still find others on the supernatural council blaming them for not stopping the problem quickly enough! Thankfully, not all of the council members are as single minded as the vampire leader or even their long- time foe, Marie Laveau, and soon form ideas to help notify teams of supernaturals of where problems are arising and to send teams to help battle the issues, leaving the sisters to deal with the cursed well and the dark witch within! This turns out to be one of the sisters’ hardest cases to deal with, even their light-hearted attempts to make fun of what is happening and sticking together, is failing and some of them are getting battered and worn out, leaving little in the magical tank to continue the fight. Each time they have to fall back and rethink their actions, the dark witch is gaining more power from her curse. She believes she can fuel her return to the world of the living on this realm, as a ghoul, and continue her dark magical practices, and is already much further on her way to this aim than the sisters could have ever guessed. A betrayal leads to a trap as was pretty much expected, and when the Twisted Sisters find themselves somewhere terrifying with no idea how to get out, but manage somehow with a little sacrifice, ending up in a realm of angelic figures, one of whom feels pulled to accompany them on the next part of their journey to defeat the dark witch Agnes. A final massive face-off will ensue, with their additional angelic ally helping to decipher what is needed to keep a relic, a sentient orb from Agnes’ hands, in the explosive ending. At least the story can end with a fun time at one of their brother’s 60th birthday celebration, which they had been planning around everything else that had been going on.
Always time for hijinks, lots of laughs even when facing danger, and sisterly togetherness, as they solve yet another magical problem for the Big Easy! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
"Creole Dishes & Deadly Wishes" by Brenda Trim immerses readers in a thrilling blend of magic, mischief, and sisterly sass set against the vibrant backdrop of New Orleans.
As a fan of supernatural adventures with a twist of humor, this latest installment of the Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom series resonated deeply with me. From the moment I delved into the pages, I was swept away by the Six Twisted Sisters' escapades as they confront their most perilous challenge yet—a cursed wishing well granting deadly wishes across the city.
Trim masterfully blends the allure of New Orleans' mystical charm with the sisters' sharp wit and supernatural prowess. I found myself enthralled by their dynamic camaraderie and unyielding determination to protect their beloved city from malevolent forces. Each sister brings a unique strength and personality to the narrative, creating a tapestry of characters that are as endearing as they are formidable.
The storyline unfolds with a perfect balance of suspense and humor, keeping me eagerly turning pages as the sisters navigate haunted locales, unravel ancient mysteries, and forge alliances with celestial beings. The temporal disturbance adds an extra layer of complexity, heightening the stakes and ensuring a pulse-pounding journey from start to finish.
"Creole Dishes & Deadly Wishes" is more than just a supernatural thriller—it's a celebration of sisterhood, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of New Orleans. Trim's vivid descriptions evoke the city's mystical aura, while the sisters' banter and bravery injects the narrative with heart and humor.
For fans of urban fantasy and those who crave a dash of paranormal intrigue with their suspense, this book is a must-read. It seamlessly weaves together supernatural elements, rich cultural lore, and a captivating plot that kept me entertained and guessing until the very end.
I thoroughly enjoyed accompanying the Six Twisted Sisters on their latest adventure, and I can't wait to see where their next escapade takes them. "Creole Dishes & Deadly Wishes" is a testament to Trim's storytelling prowess and her ability to craft a spellbinding tale that leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the series.

At the Willowberry Plantation in New Orleans, the 6 Twisted Sisters continue to throw the biggest and most wondrous of batches as their “day job.” Meanwhile, they have to deal with all of the magical calamities that have been happening since they got their powers. This time around it is some really freaky stuff. I got really upset throughout the book and had to stop to read something else as I’m just so engrossed in these characters. They are almost being tortured in this book by the new big bad in it. However, so much crazy stuff happens in the book. Viktor, the vampire leader on the council is indescribable. I just wanna punch something whenever his name shows up. I honestly just don’t know how the sisters can handle what they do. They are just amazing and the fact that they are in their forties is crazy. I really identify with them because I’m in my late 40s myself. I got sick in the middle of reading this so I’m a bit late. I don’t think that the magical world is going to be able to remain hidden much longer. There is too much happening that can reveal it in all the different combined series- from the Backside of 40, to Phoebe and her people as the Pleiades and the Twisted sisters and their family. I have a feeling that their family members better start being trained so they can act as backup and protectors of the younger sets. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Dani, Lia, Dre, Dea, Phi, and Kota are putting lights on the columns of the wrap around porch and reminiscing. Then one of the sisters feels a disturbance. Then she overhears one woman telling another how her husband saw a real life demon chasing someone. WARNING! WARNING! That does not sound good. They start a little investigation and discover that New Orleans has been having some wacky weird occurances. As they delve into these mishaps they discover that there is a wishing well but it's twisting the wishes of everyone. They discover that there is a witch back a few hundred years ago who cast a spell on the well. Now they need to find out more about her. They manage to get into her realm only to discover it's even worse than they thought. They eventually make a pact with Marie Leveau. They get a hint and now must seek the curse and hope they don't get trapped themselves. A fascinating story full of curses, zombies, witches, loas, and the Twisted Sisters.
Another fabulously twisted battle to save the world - The sisters face-off against a wicked witch from beyond the veil who is determined not to cross over. Centuries of plans are in motion and every attempt by the sisters to rid the earthly realm of her malevolence only makes her stronger. Scorned by a wizard (of course a male was involved) and shunned by her coven, she is back to make their descendants pay. Frenemies, allies new and old and even the Tainted's victims will be the keys that help the sisters bring this spirit to her celestial knees. Another great addition to the series and I hope the twisted goodness keeps comin'.

Old magic and new realms That hurricane uncovered a lot of things that should have been left buried! The sisters are having lots to fix because of it! An old well, an angry very old witch, very black magic, and finding new realms... destiny even brought them a new ally! He helps out a great deal and the girls manage to send him home safely. Battling a tainted witch, tons of spectral type shadow entities, finding Luminaria and throwing an epic surprise 60th birthday party.... just another day in the life of the Twisted Sisters!!! Awesome adventure! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really do. But this book seemed rushed and frankly just didn't flow as well as the others. If the first book had been this disjointed, I doubt very much that I would have read the rest, and I would have missed a whole lot of supernatural fun. I pray this was just a fluke and that the next book will renew my faith in the sisters and friends or the next book will be my last. Sorry, disjointed, hurried books just annoy me. Love your subject matter, fans, characters, and genre enough to do it well, or don't write more in a series. Here's hoping for a return to a truly magical story with the next one.
This book had my attention from the first paragraph. Brenda Trim has crafted a whole world of characters that just keep going no matter what is thrown at them.
The biggest thing that stood out to me in this particular book was how no matter what the circumstances were, the Twisted Sisters stuck together. They moved through the realms with their strengths and weaknesses and the bond of support never slipped.
This book has all kinds of action and adventure and it kept this reader fully engrossed.
And also wanting some twisted sisters of her own! LOL
Every other page seemed to say something about sisterhood, which would be understandable except it says what was just said two pages, 4 pages, 6 pages, etc. ago. Very repetitive.
Then, instead of describing fight scenes or descriptions of places, there were very general statements like "we fought them using our witches' powers" and "he told us many stories about this place." It felt lazy and made me wonder if there was another writer on this one.
I'm still reading the next book, though! This series has been great!
I really love the the sisters and their crew! The characters are all so different but they make it all come together and keep their business going despite the many threats to their worlds. I have rad all the series and can't wait for more! the support system and connections to the other paranormal creatures is very interesting. I highly recommend this book, this Author, the series.

Back with the Six Twisted Sisters in New Orleans, additional troubles from the storm are revealed. An ancient cursed item, linked with other artifacts, is tied to attention from Mundanes.
Old wounds and mistrust must be conquered, alongside new allies in order to try to cope with the fallout.
Suspense, drama action and the powerful sisterhood connections make for intense and compelling reading.
The Twisted Sisters discover a "wishing" well granting harmful wishes. When they encounter the well, they must stay away to avoid having their magic drained by the ghost of Agnes. This thrilling story is brimming with non-stop action, showcasing the Twisted Sisters' constant adrenaline-filled escapades, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

This is a very fun magical read. It is number 11 of the series though, it would help you to read some of the previous books in the series before, as it jumps right into the story with not as much background. I will say this being my first read of the series I do want to go back and read more. It is full of every magical and paranormal entity you can imagine. It has action and mystery and a sister bond that is unbreakable. It’s also a pretty quick read.
Magical, mysterious and full of fun, this story takes the sisters on a journey of ancient discoveries and evil ways. With a strange hurricane uncovering secrets once buried and wishes that should not be granted a new enemy is revealed and only together will they be able to save New Orleans again. This was a fantastic read with excellent additions of humor that had be enjoying this book.

These ladies handle their paranormal catastrophes as not much more than a minor hurdle. Planning a party, gotta stop and save New Orleans from yet another paranormal disaster. Once they save the city, they are back to throwing the party of all parties. The fantastic places they go and the people they meet just keep growing their circle of allies. Another great installment!.

The Twisted Sisters are up to their necks in one disturbance after another. Such a creative mix of supernatural creatures that inhabit this story. Agnes was an evil entity. Enough to give me the creeps and make me cheer when she gets her comeuppance.

I simply adore this series, the Six Twisted Sisters ate humorous, while fighting the bad guys. It is a well written series and I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Hurricane stir ups. The Twisted Sisters are still dealing with the ramifications of the hurricane. This time they have a tainted wishing well that spews out curses. There is plenty of danger, intrigue, and adventure to keep the pace going—an enjoyable read.
This is the fifth book I've read written by Brenda Trim; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is part of the Midlife Mysteries & Magic Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Dani, Dea, Dre, Kota, Lia & Phi; the Twisted sisters in New Orleans.
This fun PNR/UF storyline has humor, drama, secrets, magic, and a new enemy. The MCs are defined, likable, and engaging. I liked this entertaining and enjoyable book.

Another great addition to the Twisted Sister' Midlife Maelstrom series. I love this series. It's full of action and adventure. You never know what is going to happen.
The characters are wonderful and the sisters have a great relationship with each other. They protect each other with everything they have and sometimes don't have. They complete each other and are there for each other. Through thick and thin.
Another reason why I love this series is the location, New Orleans. One place that is on my bucket list but I will never get to it so I live vicariously through the characters in this series. Although I'm sure New Orleans hasn't been taken over by the paranormal like in the books but just the location.
The author brings New Orleans to life in her books. They are well written and full of action. The Twisted Sisters never get a chance to rest there is always something or someone that needs their help.
