“Wardrobe malfunction” doesn’t begin to cover it.

With a rip louder than the “I dos,” Hayley’s hideous bile-yellow bridesmaid dress explodes. She’s always had enviable curves, but nearly naked wasn’t quite the look she’d been going for at her ex’s wedding.

She’s rushed from the altar under the best man’s designer tux jacket. Hayley’s expecting a blast of icy disapproval from sexy, sophisticated Niccolò Rossi—his usual reaction to anything she does. What she gets is a kiss that nearly melts what’s left of her polyester nightmare gown.

It’s impossible on a million levels. Exuberant engineer Hayley and buttoned-up lawyer Nico have never seen eye to eye—but skin to skin? Oh, mio…. So when Nico shows up at her flat on Christmas Day to give her a fabulous gift—himself—Hayley’s delighted to do the unwrapping. But it’s just a holiday fling. By New Year’s Day, she’ll come back to her senses…unless Nico’s sensual skills tear away all her resolve.

3 Estrellas!

Loved it!

This short story was totally cute, sweet, sexy and funny.
I liked Hayley. She is a smart and independent woman. And Nico, oh, Nico! he is so sweet and sexy as hell. I couldn't resist an adorable hero like this! **Sigh**

This is a short little sex romp and not much more than that. I didn't really buy the setup—splitting a bridesmaid's dress by wearing it just doesn't seem like it'd be a thing. I mean, I never split any of mine, though I admit I'm not terribly "curvy". I bought the relationship as it stands, but I'd have rather have seen it actually develop ().

Hayley's negative motivation* was very annoying and since it was the sole driver of tension I found it particularly intrusive. Fortunately, Nico is the kind of guy to help her see the light and I really liked how he was able to point things out in ways that were meaningful for her.

It's very short and for what it is it's effective enough. So I'm thinking a weak three stars. I did like both protagonists and I liked their chemistry. But that's probably also why I wanted more than I got.

A note about Steamy: There are a handful of not-short explicit sex scenes which puts this on the high end of my steam tolerance. It might have bust out of it but I skimmed.

* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.

Our heroine, Hayley, is a talented and smart engineer. The story then starts off at Hayley's ex's wedding. Oh and yeah, her ex's soon-to-be wife is her friend (well, ex-friend) who stole Charlie, Hayley's ex, from her. She was invited to attend their wedding as a bridesmaid. Total douche move right? But nevertheless, Hayley agrees to be a bridesmaid to prove that she has gotten over her ex! And if you think she has it going bad for her, she's also wearing this ridiculously tight yellow-puke-colored bridesmaid dress. And guess what happens next.......

Yup, it rips off! And her two funbags, they're big btw, are proudly exposed to everyone in the wedding!

That wedding bit was super funny!!!! Like one of my fave parts!!

I honestly do not know which part of this read was hotter! The totally delectable cover him in chocolate and whipped cream lick him clean all night long Nico or the explosive level of heat and chemistry that Nico and Hayley share !

I was addicted from page one and I found myself in stitches, yes this read had loads of crazy funny humor from start to finish and I was practically rolling around on the floor with laughter and I had tears streaming down my face, truly excellent job Sarah!

The read starts out with Hayley attending her no good ex boyfriend's wedding, and as it happens the woman he is marrying is Hayley's best friend, shocking I know but all part of the author's genius plan!

Hayley's plan: get in there smile and get out without drowning in her own humiliation.

But this little tit-bit proves to be the least of her problems , once there she is more focused on keeping her breasts confined in the a dress that takes ugliest dress of the year award to a whole new level.

She fails! Her rescuer is no other than the best man himself, smoking hot Nico Rossi, pure Italian perfection.
But Nico has never approved of anything Hayley has done and his ice-y looks of disapproval has always let Hayley known that this man is as unemotional as a rock, mind numblingly hot, but completely emotionally unavailable, and therefore a dead end.

But being rescued, then have a string of Italian swear words directed in her direction and then being kissed senseless and left sexually frustrated for days was not part of the plan either. So when he shows up on her doorstep as her Christmas present , she has only two choices.

One is to indulge in her fantasy to find out if Mr-in-my-arms-you'll-go-to-the-moon-and-back is as hot in bed as he is gorgeous, or two, go online shopping for something she is pretty sure she will not enjoy ripping open.

I completely and utterly loved, loved, loved this read! Each and every level of hotness any romance fan wants from a sexy read was incorporated. The author hit each and every note of sinfully sexy, delectable, mouthwatering romance awesomeness.

The best of all for me was that Nico was not only smoking hot and ripped in every aspect of everything the man does, but that he was Italian as we all know those are the best kind of hero's and even if you don't love a Italian trust me after reading this book you will be wanting one to rip you open faster than you can take a Ferrari from zero to 220 mph!

But don't for one minute think this book is all hot sweaty sex, being the queen of sizzling sexy romance this author also brought to life the sweetness and emotional level of understanding and togetherness for Nico and Hayley, making this the perfect HOTTEST Christmas read of the year ! Oh and did I mention there's a secret involved too!

5/5 star review

Favorite Quote: Buttons skittered and bounced over the pale wooden floor, but I was too busy looking at the smooth, powerful contours of his chest through the shadowing of dark hair.

Oh, Santa, Santa, what have you brought me this year….

Man I love this book. It’s a quick read but has a perfect blend of sexual tension, laugh out loud scenes and romance.

Hayley is a bridesmaid at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. She doesn’t want to be there and further, doesn’t want to be dressed in an extremely tight, yellow bridesmaid dress. While very uncomfortable all around, she becomes more distressed as she keeps making eye contact with groomsman Nico, across the way.

Nico Rossi wasn’t a good boy. He was a bad boy dressed in a good suit.

Nico has come to her rescue years before when she was dating the groom and he got too drunk to drive her home. And in present day when her dress rips down both sides, exposing her breasts to everyone at the wedding, he comes to her rescue again with his coat.

The dress was a horribly tight tube, floor length, which basically meant my legs were locked together. I couldn’t even run away. I was like a mermaid, but without an ocean to drown in. Escape would be a slow, shuffling, breast-bouncing affair.

Nico is an extremely intense, quiet man and Hayley thinks he either hates her or is extremely disappointed in her, but she doesn’t know which one. All she knows is that every time she sees him, he doesn’t really speak or look at her. So when he give her his coat, and helps her shuffle off to a back room – it surprises them both when they start a hot (verrrrry hot) spontaneous make-out session.

When Hayely’s sister invites Nico to Christmas lunch a few days later and surprises Hayley, the sexual tension picks right back up from where they left off.

This is such an adorable story!! Hayley is an engineer who is bubbly and fun and has a great relationship with her sister. It vexes her that NIco is always so distant around her. But it’s because he secretly lusts after her and she doesn’t know it! Let’s not all swoon at once!

When he shows up at Christmas lunch, naughty things happen under the table cloth y’all.

I was just about to make a second attempt at polite conversation, when I felt his hand slide over my thigh. The warmth of his palm pressed through my jeans and I almost jumped out of my seat with shock.

I could no longer pretend any of this was an accident or that we were fused together because of a lack of space. He left his hand there, as if testing to see if I was going to jump, jog the table and knock all the glasses over.

When I didn’t move, he slid his had higher up my thigh and no matter what anyone said about some men, I could tell you there was nothing wrong with his sense of direction. He knew exactly where he was going.

A few other things I love about this book – Hayley and her sister Rosie have a wonderful relationship. They live together and are just great friends. I love that. There is also a scene where Hayley waxes a turkey leg. I giggled a lot.

This is a really fun read. You guys will enjoy the heck out of it.

I can only blame myself for the meh feeling that I have right now. I've known for a while that me and romance - contemporary at the very least - are on the outs. I keep trying, because I love the genre, but I probably need a good long (longer than the last year) break from it. Then there's the fact that this is a novella; always a harder sell for me.

Thankfully, this novella doesn't try to sell me the Happily-Ever-After, instead going for the much more believable Happy-For-Now. I definitely believe that Hayley and ....Nico (damn, almost forgot his name) are going to have a great relationship and move forward. Maybe they'll make it, maybe they won't, but they're perfect for each other right now - and because I love my happy endings, I imagine that they will.

I'm pretty much over sex-scenes, too, unless they really draw me in, and end up skimming them. Because this is what it is (and I knew that going in) sex is a good 60% of the book. I skimmed a lot.

Definitely not a bad book, and I like the way Sarah Morgan writes very much so I'll be checking more out by her in the future...when I'm over this romance malaise.

Haley the large breasted and Nico the dark and brooding.
This is a humorous little romp about a girl who met the wrong guy first. Her ex boyfriend whom she didn't want to marry anyways, dumps her for her (now ex) friend and then the two asshats had the gall to invite her to their wedding AND chose the ugliest bridesmaid dress for her to wear. But the last laugh is on them when Haley's large breasts pop out of the dress just before the 'I dos'. Everyone is too busy starring until Nico comes to her rescue. Nico, the friend of her ex, who always seems to look down on her. Or does he?
For such a short story, it feels very fleshed out. I laughed a lot reading this, as there's a lot of dry witted commentary running through Haley's head. Nico was a marvelous character and I loved their HEA. Looking forward to the sister's story!
Listened to on audio, the reader, Priscilla Carson does a good job and a nice Italian accent.

Meh, it's fun. I wish I could say it blew me away, but it didn't. Still, for a novella, there's a decent amount of story. Not much character development, but hey, novella. I also didn't understand some of the motivations. But it's good for a holiday quickie.

Nice. Great character voice, but a bit heavy on the inner monologue. I found myself skimming through Hayley's humorous musings to get back to the story. Still, this worked quite well for such a short piece. It was funny and hot and even though her mind tended to wander, it was great being inside of Hayley's head. I never felt like she was authentically an engineer, her mind just seemed too scattered or something, and we didn't get the grounding in science that, say, Mary Ann Rivers brought to her scientist character in Heating Up the Holidays 3-Story Bundle, but it wasn't necessary either. Instead we got some great sibling relationships and fully realized characters -- though because of the limited space there was an awful lot of telling, not showing.

Very enjoyable!

For a quickie this book wasn't as hot as I was hoping it would be.

Loved the premise, felt the chemistry, thought Nico was great, Hayley was not a bad leading female but I found her a tad annoying and if I had of heard about her phobia of commitment or her sisters kicking one more time I probably would have punched her.

I loved that she was a strong professional woman but the reasoning behind being at the ex's wedding was too weak for me and the amount of emphasis put on him and his new wife I would have liked to maybe see him have her and Nico rubbed in his face a lot but then I am a vengeful bitch.

But like I said it was a quickie, Nico was hot I just personally need a 100 page book to be 90 pages of fucking and 10 pages of oh BTW my name is ........ and yes I will let you fuck me there and this wasn't that :(

ARC provided by publisher trough NetGalley for an honest review.

Hayley Miller is an engineer, but right now she's a bridesmaid at her ex-boyfriends wedding. But when her zoftig body bursts from her dress, it's the best man, Niccolo "Nicco" Rossi who comes to her rescue. But Nicco doesn't like her... or does he? When Hayley's sister invited Nicco and his sister to their house for "Friends Christmas" lunch, Hayley and Nicco's relationship goes to the next level. But Hayley has made a resolution to not have relationships, but to have meaningless sex instead. But does Nicco agree and have her personal feelings gotten involved despite her best efforts?

I thought it was sweet and funny in some places. It was just wasn't overly special.

I enjoyed this thoroughly. Ms. Morgan does the best job she can in the short space of her novella and unlike some other Cosmo Red Hot Reads that have left me rolling my eyes, this book's romance is believable and the heroine an excellent narrator.

Another Christmasy story read in the summertime - oh well!

Hayley is attending her ex-boyfriend's wedding where she's stuffed into a monstrosity of a bridesmaid dress, when she suffers from a wardrobe malfunction, to put it mildly. The last person she expected comes to her rescue - Nico, the always disapproving best man.

Turns out that disapproval isn't all he's feeling for Hayley, and the time has come to let her in on the secret, followed by an unexpected Christmas gift that Hayley didn't know she wanted.

A light and short story that also introduces Hayley's sister Rosie who is the heroine of the next book in the series, Burned.
