I only bought this bundle (for .99) to read the short story that involves the characters for the Unenchanted series, Jared's Quest, which I enjoyed. Maybe some day I will read some of the other books in this bundle but right now I have other books I know I want to read. FYI this bundle also has the first two books of the Unenchanted series, Unenchanted and Fairest, a cheaper way (right now) to get Fairest :)

I am giving it four stars because of Chanda Hahn. I am a huge fan and almost had a fangirling heart attack when Jared's story was going on. The other stories were just...dull. I could not get into them no matter how hard I tried.

I really enjoyed Chanda Hahn's books within this. However, the other ones were hard to get into and not as exciting.
For anyone who loves fairy tales with a twist, definitely read the UnEnchanted series - they're simple, but addictive.

Unenchanted: This was something new. Something I actually enjoyed. I've heard or watched programs depicting that the Grimm brothers were some how cursed and that's how they came up with all their stories. So this was very enjoyable. A desendant of theirs (Wilamina or Mina for short) has now been chosen to finish what was started by her great-great-great-granfather and uncle so long ago. And she needs to comeplete all 190 or so stories because, not only does her life but the life of her brother and future desendants depend on it.

Fairest: Wow!!! This one had more excitment then the last. Finally Mina knows the truth, but at what cost?

Blood & Snow: This is a book about Snow White with a twist, a vampire. So snow white dreams about eating a heart, then she goes on an outing with her 7 best friends the brothers the next day. 4 of the 7 brothers and Snow Flake as they call her visit an old Japanese friend of the bother's adoptive father. Here is where she falls asleep and gets bitten. So now I'm guessing the fun begins.

Cindy Witch: Cindy or Cinderella is a witch and she's freed Snow Whites mom, Ariel. Cindy kills Ariel's mom, and frees the Atlantica Mizu city from his rule. Ariel has a sister named Belle. Wonder what adventures lies ahead for them next.

Hook's Pan: This was an awesome love story. To think Hook isn't as bad as they stories portray him to be. When you think about it, I can understand why Hook is the way he is about Peter Pan. But in this story even the "bad guy" can have his happy ending.

Grimm Diary Prequels: Loved these books. I can't wait to read the next set. The way the author put facts into the story, makes you really think how these stories really came about. How much really is fiction and how much of it is truth. Love the spin that was put to each infamous character.

OVERALL:

Hook's Pan by Marie Hall - 3 stars

A wonderful retelling of the classics Peter Pan story with a lovely bad boy twist. Just as in the last fairytale installments of the Kingdom series Marie Hall does a fantastic job bringing in the characters unique and individual personalities. The twists on the classic Disney interpreted bad boys is thrilling. Hook was my favorite character in this book even though I felt bad for him I didn’t pity him and was drawn in by his oh so alluring charm. The only thing I got caught on was that some parts flew by while others tended to linger on; the flow of the story was a bit choppy for me. This was overall another whimsical read in the series.

Snow White Blood Red by Jace Cameron - 4 Stars

A delightful prequel to what promises to be an exciting tale. The first prequel in the Grimm diaries series explores the alternate world of the snow white fairy tale. The story caught my attention and has me excited to actually start the series.

I really enjoyed most of this box set. The Chanda Hahn books I totally enjoyed! I plan on finishing that series. RaShelle Workman's books were okay. And the Cameron Jace's books were good but gorey in spots but interesting. But I was really disappointed in the Marie Hall books. I just barely started them and there was language and sex. I didn't even get through the first 5 pages before I stopped reading them.

The first two books I'd already read. Some were better than others. I liked the Grimm Diaries Prequels the best. Some where borderline romance/smut which is fine, but not when bundled with YA retelling of fairytales.

it was nice to read straight through with no pause to change books while reading this on my kindle. It kept the story line and drew me into the story that much deeper. Love Chanda and her writing. Even the teens i work with who don't read are addicted! Can't wait to read the next in the series!
