A few good recipes (try the chicken with peaches) but the book’s emphasis on low fat means using simple sugars and other non-complex carbs, which seems to be the antithesis of modern dietary recommendations.

Although this book was written in the 90's, Dr. Cooper was well respected for his promotion of aerobic vs anaerobic exercise research prior to that decade. We now have more details at the cellular level about fat storage but his information is very helpful. Too bad Americans did not heed his advice! Patience and steady habit changes are crucial to better long term living. His strategies to understand your body and make small instant changes are the precursors to Dr Oz's mission.

Good suggestions, good recipes! We seemed to have moved to more imbalance in our lives when the information for greater health has always been at our fingertips. Why?

I picked this book up at the half-price store the day my doc told me my cholesterol was out of control. I don't know if it was the timing or the content but It got me on track with the step-by-step layman's explanation of why I don't need so much fat in my diet. It also taught me to recognize where the fat was coming from. Out, out damn CHEESE!
