Great Biography on Groundbreaking Black Female Entertainers through the ages. I'm copying down his bibliography and reading more and more about these extraordinary women.
I thought the book Brown Sugar was a very informative book. I found out about a lot of things I did not know about the Dark Diva's of yesterday and today. It is about time somebody recognizes that we have a lot of Beautiful Black Diva's . They have been so down played by the popularity of the high yellow Diva's for a long time. I hope Mr. Donald Bogle writes another book about our Black Diva's. I would like to learn more. There are so many books written about the tragic mallatto. What about the tragic Black Diva. Thank Mr. Bogle for stepping up the bat for people of color!
I was looking through this book again today after many years and I think I would still give this book 5 stars. Such an excellent book and an all-time favourite.
