Oh Aiden Aiden Aiden... I didn't need this novella to convince me that Aiden is amazing and badass and the one for Alex. Because I already knew all this the moment he stepped back into Alex's life in Half-Blood, the first novel in the series. But I did desperately need this novella for my much needed Aiden fix AND to calm my nerves after reading the epicness that was Deity, which by the way ended on a huge cliffhanger! I never doubted Aiden's awesomeness but this novella takes him to a whole new level.
He's not perfect, he's not flawless, but he's wonderful and I love him so much!!!!!!!! And going on writing from Aiden's POV after Deity's ending? Just perfect, Jennifer, just PERFECT. Now I can breath when after the last book I thought I was going to die waiting for Apollyon, so THANK YOU because even if my heart hurts just by thinking about it, I'll try to survive until April.

First of all, READ DEITY BEFRORE YOU READ THIS LITTLE GEM!!!!
So holy crap! If I wasn't already in love with this series after reading Deity, this novella just took the cake then. Oh gods, my head is so full of emotions. Aiden. If you've read any of my reviews for previous installments of this series, you'll know where I stand and why I feel torn about even reading the series. In my last review, I opted out of saying much in favor of just shelving the book as read, but man, it's hard when I can't not compare. When I heard there was a novella from Aiden's POV, I was so excited! But I wasn't expecting it to really move the storyline along, I thought it was going to be his POV of Deity or some other scenes from one of the other books. Once I started reading and realized that it picked up right where Deity left off I was beyond excited!!!

Aiden and Alex are meant to be. I know it for sure now. Elixir starts out pretty much where Deity ended. I finished Deity earlier in the day and I just died, like I'm sure everyone did when they read it. So glad I read Elixir because it tells us what happened. I couldn't have waited to read it. Now the hurt isn't so much there anymore. Phew!
So Elixir is in Aiden's point of view. Yay! Oh and I loved it so much. I was perfection at its best. Kudos for Jennifer L. Armentrout....more

When I first found out that there would be Aiden's point of view novella, I thought it would be some kind of "thank you" or gift from author to her readers who love Aiden and Covenant series. But Elixir was so much more. Aiden's point of view was definitely needed for the sake of storyline development and to be in his head was incredible. He is exactly a person Alex always thought he was, if not better. I have always been Team Aiden girl all the way but now my love for him is even stronger.

This is just going to be a short review since it's a novella. Elixir is a definite must read if you have been following The Covenant Series. However you NEED to read Deity before you read this one!! Because It will spoiler Deity for you if you read this first.

I finished this novella in less than two hours this morning and I have to say, it doesn't add anything to the table. Now, I know that novellas aren't meant to do that anyway, but Elixir ended how it begun and nothing really happened.
Sure, it was nice to see through Aiden's eyes for a change, but Aiden sadly comes across as a lovesick boy with anger issues. He yells at those who mean well at least once a chapter and his ridiculous behavior is justified by everyone because Aiden worries about Alex...more

At this point, I think it is more than safe to say Jennifer L. Armentrout really knows how to wow her readers. Elixir gives a glimpse into an emotional and very heart-wrenching world of Aiden St. Delphi or more specifically, another reason to fall in love with, not only our enigmatic hero, but also the Covenant world.

This puny book was not nearly as lengthy as I'd hoped, and yet it manged to hold so much emotion. I love Aiden in every other book that comes my way, and now more than ever.
I can't help it, his determination is killing me. I want so bad to believe in Alex's strength, like everyone believes in faeries after watching Peter Pan. Its never happened before. I never like the first guy. The one they always choose (with TWO exceptions that I've ever read). But Jennifer l Armentrout may be doing the unthinkable.

YA world needs more heros like him.
At the end of Deity, Alex was awakened and connected to f*cking Seth ... so she was a big pain in the ass with her attitude ...
But Aiden ... ohhhh my lovely Aiden ... he was amazing, I respect him for what he did, for the way he handled everything ...

I think writing this book from Aiden's point of view was amazing because we got to see what was going trough his head. I mean even though Alex had said in Deity that she had put Aiden on a pedestal when he clearly wasn't perfect we didn't get a good glimpse of what was going trough his head.
He's a total badass, doesn't have much patience (maybe only with Alex) and he's brave as hell. He's loyal to Alex and even though it kills him to see her in the situation...more

While Deity ended with (shocker) a brutal cliffhanger, Jennifer decided to take pity on our poor souls and write a novella that kinda eased that ache until Apollyon comes out next week.
