Goodreads Is Coming to the New Kindle Fires
When we announced that Goodreads will be coming to the new Kindle Paperwhite a couple of weeks ago, many of you wanted to know if Goodreads integration would be coming to Kindle Fire. We’re happy to share today that the answer is yes, Goodreads will soon be integrated with the new Kindle Fire devices!
With the new Goodreads integration on the new Kindle Fires unveiled by Amazon today, you will be able to:
The Goodreads integration will be coming to the new Kindle Fire devices in the US by an over-the-air (i.e. automatic) Fire OS update in mid-November.
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at what Goodreads will look like on the new Kindle Fire devices:
With the new Goodreads integration on the new Kindle Fires unveiled by Amazon today, you will be able to:
- see what your Goodreads friends are reading
- share highlights and notes as you read
- track the books you read and want to read and build your shelves
- read reviews from your friends and from the Goodreads community
- rate and review books
- import Amazon-purchased books to your Goodreads shelves.

I have a goodreads app on my kindle fire already?
I can't wait....it's hard keeping track of the books on my Goodread's and Kindle "want to read" lists.

Yes, what about the current Kindle Fire HD? Are they going to send an update through? This is huge for me because the GR app on Android is terrible. I would love to have this on my Kindle Fire and not have to buy a new one. This is already my 2nd Fire purchase.

Suzanne - Do you mean you don't have anything to share or nothing you guys are able to share? Couldn't there just be an upgrade to the Kindle fire pushed out to owners of the earlier versions?

@Mara - it is just a regular goodreads Android app. Nothing specific to the Kindle. Just search for goodreads under in the Apps Store.If you find something different be sure to let us (me!) know. Thanks!

Will do...it looks like (as of right now) it's not in the Amazon Kindle App store (which is what the Fire HDX is restricted to).
Ah, I see. I have the Fire HD but not the HDX. That stinks.

I'd like to see some screenshots of how you can read your friends' notes in a book.
I truly hope that the "share highlights and notes as you read" means that the notes are right in the margins. I don't wish to read friend's notes that are not in the context of the book. Reading marginalia that is not in the margins is like talking to a severed head.

I have the HDX from my pre-order and I think it is tons better the older model. It's lighter and the text looks better. I hope they soon add the app. I checked today and not there.
Please, please update the previous version of Kindles (Paperwhite, Fire, etc.) with the Goodreads integration!
Is it just me or is the integration limited? I can't search for books I haven't already put on my list. Also I don't like how it starts on the updates screen. Maybe I just can't find the search bar? Seems like a big thing to hide...
