The couple was so cute and I enjoyed their teasing and falling for each other very much. I loved reading about the letters and gifts that they exchanged. It has its funny moments which I can imagine as tv series. They both supported and trusted each other and complimented each other well. Also I like the fact that it was herself who saved his life and the one he promised to marry.

All the antagonists are too weak and the FL has really good luck, but it is well-written/ translated.

This novel was surprisingly endearing. I found myself enjoying the hilarious antics the villains get up to and their strange thought processes. Since everything goes well for the FL, you need the constant messes the villains kick up in order to make the novel interesting.
I do think the golden fingers that the FL get are a bit illogically good. Her luck is so good, and it makes no sense. She's not really obviously smarter or better than many other characters.
The only good thing about the FL is that she doesn't covet what isn't hers, doesn't have petty thoughts, and doesn't take other people at face value.

First Life
Ruan Ning, a transmigator, broke off her engagement, and she was replaced by her younger sister, Ruan Xi. Ruan Xi and her husband, Qi Yue An, had a blessed life with three sons and a daughter. Ruan Ning end up as the Emperor's Concubine and was buried alongside him when he passed away.
Second Life
The reborn-transmigator Ruan Ning decided to stick with her fiance, Qi Yue An. Ruan Xi, also a transmigator, got engaged to Wen Ting Zhou who was rumored to be a cut-sleeve in the First Life. After some twists and turns, mostly started by Ruan Ning, her engagement got broken. Qi Yue An married the young lady from Yang's family who turned out the be the reborn Ruan Xi. Ruan Ning again ends up as the Emperor's Concubine but, instead of being buried with him, she was conferred as a Dowager after his death. The title of the novel was the biggest spoiler for this novel. As such, all the villains were mediocre and silly at best. It was truly laid-back and can be read in one sitting.

An easy book to read - good for travel.
This is an interesting rebirth novel with enough twists and turns for a mystery. Several characters believe they are reborn, transmigrated or”book wearing” so it was very fun to see them work it all out. More than one character has an insufferable amount of self-confidence- ha!
Lots of snuggly romance and very little talk of concubines considering this is set in historical China. Yes, some characters are incredibly dumb but it’s that the way real life is?

I liked the first half of the book better than the second half because once she got married, it quickly became really boring. This novel really is laid back and chill. The twice transmigrated sister is the main antagonist but she's rather dumb so there's never any sense of real danger.
Summary: Ruan Xi had a heart disease in her past life and she's transmigrated into the body of a 14 year old illegitimate daughter of an Earl. She gets engaged with Wen Ting Zhou and love steadily ensues.

This book was very mid but it was entertaining. Nothing really happens and the main antagonist had so many holes in her brain that it was shocking she lasted until the end. I felt that the ending with four different girls being reborn and transmigrating was stupid cause you just revealed one plot twist that Ruan Xi was the original owner then they tell us there was another Ruan Xi in this life and I’m like bro just stop. But poor Mu Qing Ci she deserves so much more.

It's feel-good story, basically, and I enjoyed it immensely.
And again, translation was superb. If it was slightly worse, I probably wouldn't read it as fast as I've read it in one sitting.
I was in love with main protagonists, such a lovely and heartwarming couple.

this low stress low stakes book was right up my alley and I'm crushed there aren't more translated versions of this authors novels out there- it's what's making me consider venturing into the NU forums in fact to put out requests or bump them up ...
I loved how supportive ML was of FL and I think how much her in laws loved her too? LOL omfg the evil sister was so awful, but what made it okay/entertaining was how ~everyone around realized how awful she was. Even when she had some wins, there were still people in the know.
I'm definitely going to be re-reading this book <3

(Obvs already hate her “legitimate mother” & ES3; big pet peeve is bitches who can’t stand anyone living better than themselves & worse try to steal or destroy it.

Took me a while to finish it but the novel was very enjoyable and I really, really like the MC and male lead so far. Their understanding of each other and this tentative relationship is somehow more relatable to me than those passionate loves in other stories. Slowly getting to know each other, growing fond of each other, and then seeing if there could be more has a level of rationale I really appreciate.
I also loved the ending of giving back Mu Qing Ci her original fate in the extra, because unlike Ruan san Niang, Mu Qing Ci did not care for the riches, luxury, or honors, she just wanted to live realistically and honestly, while staying true to herself. I really like that she did not resent anyone, she just chose to stay away from Ruan san Niang because she was badly bitten in her previous life, and that was all it took, really.
