Серія про Кей Скарпетту - прабабця всяких CSI і "Bones", police procedurals про роботу лабораторій, що увійшли в моду задовго після виходу першої книжки. "Постмортем" написаний на початку 90х (як не наприкінці 80х), тож читається як посібник з історії науки абощо - скажімо, ідентифікація вбивці за ДНК тоді ще вважалася контроверсійною новою технологією, якій присяжні не повірять, ну і т.д. При цьому багато в чому виглядає прогресивнішим, аніж багато сучасної продукції (на ура проходить тест Бехдель! головній героїні - за 40! жінки і лгбт-герої у різних ролях і на різних посадах! при цьому упередження are not glossed over!).
Не те, щоб я була прямо в захваті від книжки - воно конвенційне донєльзя, хоча почасти, звісно, саме воно й доклалося до формування цих самих конвенцій - але воно цілком розважальне, щоб слухати під вигулювання песика, тож ще кілька томів, напевно, послухаю.
