Baldacci’nin ilk kitabı. Yazıldığı dönemde ilgi çekmiş ama okuduktan sonra günümüzde ilgi çekiciliği olduğunu düşünmüyorum. Kurguyu çok zorlama buldum, kendi içlerinde tutarsızlıklar var. Detay olması gereken yerler detaylı olmamış, olmaması gerekenler detaylandırılmış. Aksiyon, macera kısmı için orta diyebilirim. Kitap iyi başladı ama ilerleyen bölümler beklediğim incemeler, detaylar, hiç beklediğim gibi değildi.
Konusu, ABD başkanının uçkuruna sahip olmaması sonucu işlenen bir cinayetle başlıyor. Kendi zevki uğruna onca insanı, hayatı, aileyi katlediyor vs. Kendini haklı çıkarması çok ilginçti. Bu zamparalıkları yapan ne ilk ne son Başkan olacağım. Bu iş yükünü başka türlü nasıl atabilirim vs. Pes yani.
