Thank goodness. There's a lot more to love in this installment than in the others; it's probably my favorite out of the four. Therefore, again, I'll start with the positives.

One of the opening chapters is set during an emergency RAD meeting where Lala's father Dracula announces that everyone is going to be relocated. This is due to the incident at the end of the previous book that exposed everyone who participated in the documentary's identities. The emotion here is real, and it's raw, and it hurts. It hurts seeing these characters hear the news that they're never going to see each other again, and seeing them all begin to cry and hold on to each other. Cleo's reaction is particularly moving; she and Deuce hold each other, and for the first time in the series, she's being genuine and sentimental. You can tell everyone in this room considers one another family as they cling to each other and try to find some semblance of comfort. It's my favorite scene in the entire series.

The aftermath of the RAD evacuation is equally as hard-hitting. Their homes are left completely untouched, food still on the table and electronics still running because Dracula had the RADs leave the state as quickly as possible. It shows perfectly how large the community was, and how their lives have been uprooted. I liked this detail.

Clawdeen has a bigger presence in this book, and while I still take issue with her whitewashing (see my review of the first book), she's wonderful in this. She and Clawd/Claude interact like real brothers and sisters do, and her frustration is understandable and real. She's stuck in her family's bed and breakfast (which is an awesome idea for the Wolf family, by the way, kudos to Harrison for that one) without a clue about her friends' whereabouts or status and with no way to contact them. She's one of the best characters in the series, because her world is crumbling around her, and she just wants her Sassy Sixteen party to happen because it's the last normal thing she has left.

Draculaura/Lala and Clawdeen's relationship in this book is great. Gimme more of that good good Clawdeen lesbian pining.

Melody's mother Marina is pretty cool, I wish we got to see more of her. She seems like a kind soul. I don't know how she gave birth to someone like Melody.

...

Well, I said there was more positive in this book than the others, but that's all I got for right now. Maybe it's because I love the first couple things so much. Either way, it's time for the negative. I'll start with the things that take less space.

Once again, Frankie is miserable for a good portion of this book, and it's getting annoying at this point. I like Frankie, I don't want to see her constantly beating herself up over stuff that's out of her control. Not to mention I can't stand Brett, and their relationship makes a comeback in this book after some bumps in the road. She has a brief thing with Billy, but it doesn't last long, and they decide to be just friends, which I kind of liked. Anyway, justice for Frankie.

Cleo doesn't appear that often in this one, but when she does, it's either in the scene I mentioned before, or it's her talking about making out with the basketball team as revenge because Deuce won't text her back immediately after a community-wide crisis. I don't think Lisi Harrison has ever written a healthy relationship in her life.

Speaking of unhealthy relationships, Jackson and DJ's mother apparently blasts them with heat for two weeks straight in order to keep DJ fronting, and to keep Jackson from contacting Melody. I haven't got to elaborate much on this one. Bad parent alert.

RAD oppression is ended way too easily. I know it's a Monster High book, and nothing's going to be too serious, but... you know that Gabriel Gundacker Vine where he says "This one's to end racism!" and then unsuccessfully shoots a basketball? Imagine that he actually made the shot. That's how this book ends. In addition, it was all Melody's idea.

Speaking of Melody, the rest of this review is probably going to be about her, because despite this book being my favorite, it's also where her tomfoolery goes from bad to apocalyptic.

The entire first part of the book, Melody is boo-hoo-ing because the previous book ended with her questioning her heritage. She's not entirely sure whether her parents are her biological parents or not, since she's never been like them or Candace, and she can't work up the nerve to just ask them. I understand that being presented with the idea that you might be adopted and your parents are hiding it from you is a tough thing to go through, but she acts like she's the only one with problems in this book. It's not like her boyfriend and most of her friends have been forced to do a mass exodus of their hometown or anything.

Quick sidebar: Melody's parents are kind of awful. Not only did they give her plastic surgery at a young age to """fix""" her """ugly""" nose, it's revealed in this book that they did, in fact, adopt Melody. That's not the bad part -- no, the problem here is their reason for adopting. After they had Candace, they agreed that they would never again create a child that perfect, and they had their tubes tied. Then they ended up wanting another kid. Oh my god.

Back to Melody now. This is also when she starts getting hints that she might have RAD blood running through her veins. Spoiler alert: she does, because she has to be part of the cool kid RAD club, too, because she's so incredibly special and cool. The fact that her previous unfounded "connection" with the RADs was justified all along (when it was originally based on her just being """ugly""" at one point) is the most annoying thing in the world.

Not to mention that the RAD species she ends up being is a siren. The only traits she shows of sirenhood are random feathers that she sheds from her hair sometimes, a nice singing voice, and the ability to make anyone do anything she tells them to. Yes, you heard that last one correctly. Melody Carver, the most self-absorbed character in this series other than Cleo (but gets a pass for it because she's Not Like The Other Girls), is given the ability to command people at her will. You may ask: "At least she'll exercise this power responsibly, right? She's a protagonist, after all." You would, unfortunately, be very wrong.

If I sound dramatic about this, it's because I am, and it's exactly as bad as I'm making it out to be. Melody mostly uses her powers in order to get Jackson back, which is selfish in his own right, because he's just as in danger as the other RADs. The only decent thing she does is order RAD haters to attend Clawdeen's party, and her original plan with that was to end racism by telling everyone to not be racist. She doesn't get a chance, since racism is ended with a dance party, but oh well.

Now that the major conflict of the series (RAD liberation) is solved, the next book is open to be a light-hearted set of hijinks, sort of like the first one, but with less RAD-racism this time. With this freedom, I'm sure Lisi Harrison will be able to write a fun, satisfying end to the series. Right?

RIGHT???

Let me just start with the fact that this book was purely amazing. I hadn't read the past two, though I had wanted to and I absolutely adored this one. I will definitely be getting the next one in the series if possible.

This book can be a stand alone because I understood every single bit of it and even started to gather some of what had happened in the previous book. This book is funny, quick, fast paced and something light and fresh that you can sent down to read after a hard days work. A breath of fresh air, and I loved it.

It follows a couple of characters and it is just a wonderful novel that follows plenty of stuff that could happen to any normal teenagers but with twist. They're all supernatural monsters. And then you get Frankie Stein who is still sort off finding her place because she isn't a typical supernatural monster but a made one.

Now as a first introduction (for me) to the world I was pleasantly surprised to find that it ways some dark gothic town deluded int he middle of nowhere. It was in fact a very normal town. I was also happy with the characters, all well built and quite nice to hear speaking to you. As for the story, it was told well and efficiently and I could see it playing out in my head the whole time. The book gripped me in it's claws, pardon the pun.

Overall I really did like the book and would love to see more of the series and discover the hidden stories to Frankie, Cleo Billy and the others!

Not sure what to say... It was good book. I really loved it. When I read first book, I thought "Oh...again...love, boyfriends..." But I think I got used to such things. Glad that other characters were mentioned FINALLY. And I liked that this serie of books have a lot of action, it makes me read faster and want to read next and next chapter to know how this will end.
Now I am waiting for 4th book to come from England that I could read and know how everything ended.

I get the feeling this is going to be a solid three star series. My main purpose for rereading this series was to see if I wanted to keep or not, and so far I'm not very convinced about letting the books take up precious room on my overflowed-onto-the-floor bookshelf. Pretty much every book in this series gets the same complaints from me: the characters are super shallow and they all act selfishly and stupidly. The things I like about this book are usually the same two: the quirky humor and fun teenage relatability. I'll just dive right into my spoiler-filled thoughts since there's not much else I can say that I haven't already mentioned in my first two reviews of the books in this series.

I was going to write about how it's implied Dracula is a mafia boss or how they made the werewolves instinctively sexist or about how Lala goes homophobic and calls some random vampire named Marion a "fruit bat" or even how Clawdeen makes Troom Troom style DIY home decor but they literally end racism with a dance party. That's my big shock and horror moment this time.

The best book of the series so far. It was slower than the previous installments, which made it have more room for character development.
Would have given it 4 stars if the ending wasn't as weird as it was (not the last chapter. but the couple of chapters that preceded it).

I sikkerhed.

Clawdeen's parent's make her go into hiding at the family hotel, and many of the other monster's parent's make them leave town after the documentary from the previous book airs. Clawdeen is devastated and hopeful that things will blow over quickly so that she can still have her Sassy Sixteen party. Melody starts looking into her own past based on Manu's comment to her in the last book, there is definitely more to Melody then meets the eye. Frankie's parents are backing her up and staying but she isn't sure whether Brett was really involved in the monster's outing or not. Everyone's got personal drama and some of the normies are freaking out, what are the monsters going to do?

I really liked Clawdeen, it was nice to see her as something other then Cleo's minion b/c she is obviously just so much more then that. Her family is really interesting and it would have been nice to get to know some of the others better like Clawd although I have a feeling we will find out more about him in Lala's book.

Billy is becoming a more and more interesting character each book and I hope he eventually gets his own book b/c he definitely deserves it. Actually I am wondering if any of the boys will get their own book, I hope so.

Melody's story is getting more and more interesting and there are definitely a lot of moral implications that come along with who she is. I know she kind of shared Frankie's book with her but I want to know more about how she develops. I am also wondering if any of the adults is going to take her under their wing or if her own parents are going to step up and get involved with the other monsters like Mrs. Jackson. I think that would actually be a really interesting dynamic. I will say this though, there was a lot of heavy handed forshadowing on this one and I kind of wish that it had come out a little bit sooner. It felt like it took forever for Melody to catch up.

What this book needs is a list of characters and who/what they are supposed to be. They are getting enough characters that I am starting to get confused.

Of course I had forgotten what happened in the previous book. What I also didn't realize was that in this series, each book starts about one minute after the previous ends. Unlike a lot of series where there are days/weeks/months between. Also, each chapter is from the perspective of another character. Which is interesting, but c'mon there were AT LEAST 6 different characters as narrators. Each book in the series seems to add more (I think the first book only alternated between Frankie and Melody). I am worried about how many narrators there will be to keep track of in #4.

It's a fun quick read. I like the use of all the Hollywood-ish monsters as teenagers. Though I am a bit annoyed that on the whole the families seem pretty well-to-do. Or at least, it is not a concern trickling down to the kids. These are also some pretty self-centered teens, but then they are teens and that's how it is.

It's about inclusion and anti-prejudice, that everyone has something different or weird and families can come in different forms too. So not a bad message. Oh wait, and about overcoming fear and standing up for yourself. Maybe there are too many messages?

Well that was a cute ending. Everyone got what they wanted and finally we got to see Billy for the first time!!! Hottie =)

I was glad that Billy found an invisible girl to be with. I did want him to get with Frankie, but I was okay with an invisible girl. I don't really like Brett. He's annoying. I knew that Melody was a Siren from the last book. It was very obvious to me and I figured that the women was her mother. It just made sense. I was glad that the monsters were done hiding. NUDI all the way =) I still think Cleo is annoying. I think it's cute that Lala likes a werewolf.

It was a good book. Very fairy-tale-happily-ever-after ending, but it was cute. I am curious as to what she is gonna write about it the next book. These books seem a little silly to me. Kinda childish, but They are an interesting perspective on monsters.

It keeps getting better and better. I'm truly surprised by the Monster High series.

Clawdeen's voice was way more pleasant than Cleo's in Monster High: The Ghoul Next Door. I really liked the way she acted during her Sassy Sixteen party. Fur real Frankie's and Melody's were as good as always. And Billy's, poor Billy, I really like him. But I'd have liked it better if !!

About Melody, well... her story was a bit predictable but nonetheless I had fun reading it. I mean, sometimes something can be predictable but if it's told in the right way it's still good.

Now it's time for the fourth installment. Yay!

The author does another great job of winding together plot threads so that everything flows together nicely. There were a few things I wasn't happy with storywise. The reader still hasn't gotten even a glimpse of the RAD's history. Hopefully, the whole thing with Melody and her mom will be explained in the next (final) book, too.

I enjoyed this one as much as the second. Great characters and the pace was great. My favorite characters are probably Frankie and Melody. My only problem with these is the constant label dropping and this isn't the first book I've read that has included this. I will definitely be picking up the fourth one.

I felt like the series hit it's stride in this book. Lisi's awful metaphors are toned down and the focus os on the characters and story. I liked Clawdeen as a character too. I don't know what happened in the last book, so this is the culmination of the series in my mind.
