Long books are nice, but sometimes you just need a story that is short and sweet and can be read in a few hours and leave you satisfied and accomplished. A lot of times with compilations of novellas by different authors you tend to have a favorite and might even skim the one that isn’t your fave, but there is none of that with The Kissing Tree. All the stories are strong, well-written, heartwarming, and enjoyable. Might be one of my favorite multi-author novella collections ever. ❤️🌳 ❤️🌳

This was such a lovely read. I have read all 4 authors before that are in this novella collection and enjoy their books.
All 4 stories are centered around a big old tree aptly named "The Kissing Tree" way back when. Taking place in a small Texas town each story features a couple in a different time period from past times to most recent times. In the most current time period, the tree is old, wearied and not in the best shape. Some want it to come down. Some are really fighting against it. Like us though sometimes doing what's best though it may not be what we want is a way to start fresh, offering forgiveness and moving on. We don't always need the sentimental object because our memories live on in our hearts and minds just like they do with all the generations of people affected by The Kissing Tree. If only the tree could talk, it would have so many stories to tell! There are a lot of emotions swirling around in this book, some misunderstandings, forgiveness, joy, happy memories and faith. A fun and inspirational read. I enjoyed this book a lot.

This is a really heartwarming collection of four novellas, all revolving around the same grand old oak "Kissing Tree" in Oak Springs, Texas. The extraordinary thing is that although each story is done by a different author, they collectively maintain the history of the town and are well woven together. The stories span from 1868 to contemporary times, as the town changes, romance blooms, and initials are carved into the tree.

Broken Limbs, Mended Fences by Regina Jennings begins in 1868. Adam Fisher returns to his boyhood town as a threshing machine salesman, determined to convince the town to embrace the changes of the times. He also wants to see Bella again, and apologize for an accident three years before.

Inn For A Surprise by Karen Witemeyer is the delightful story of how opposites attract. In 1891, Phoebe Woodward, a romantic at heart, wants to open The Kissing Tree Inn. Her father sends the ultra practical Barnabas Ackerby to assist her, and sparks fly.

From Roots to Sky by Amanda Dykes tells the story of Luke Hampstead and Hannah Garland. An airman during the war, Luke has been writing to Hannah, the sister of a buddy who was tragically killed. When it's time for him to go home, he seeks Hannah out in Texas.

Heartwood by Nicole Deese is the story of Abby and Griffin, and how they deal with pain and loss.

From Roots to Sky by Amanda Dykes is my favorite Novella in the book. I instantly connected with the characters, and the story touched my heart. This is the second work I've ready by Dykes, and she's becoming one of my favorite authors.

I wasn't entirely on board with the ending of Heartwood, the last novella in the book, but overall these stories were woven together well and definitely enjoyable.

The Kissing Tree collection of novellas is a beautiful collection of stories that take place through the years. The common theme is an enormous oak tree in the town of Oak Springs, Texas. Each author did a wonderful job of creating a story that touched my heart and had me completely invested in the outcome.

Broken Limbs, Mended Fences – Adam has returned to not only attempt to earn money using his threshing machine, but to win the heart of Bella. Adam and Bella were such fun characters! I loved watching as they worked through their various struggles and grew to care for each other.

The Kissing Tree Inn – In this fun tale, it was humorous to see what Phoebe considered romantic and to watch as Barnabas reacted to the paint and wallpaper that she had chosen. I loved hearing the funny names for the inn that would pop into Barnabas’ head, such as the Inn of Smooching Shrubbery! I liked the way these two began working together to make the inn a success, each recognizing that the other had important contributions to make.

From Roots to Sky – What a sweet story of two people who met through letters during the war. I loved the way Luke continued to stay in town, working with Hannah on her special project. The close bond that Luke and Hannah began to feel toward each other grew naturally as they spent time together and I wondered what path Luke would choose for his future.

Heartwood – I really felt for Griffin and Abby. It was clear that they loved each other, both in the past and in the present, however, there was loss and hurtful words between them. I thought that the theme of second chances was beautiful in this story.

Throughout every one of these novellas, the Kissing Tree was a central theme, woven beautifully and naturally into each tale. I really enjoyed this collection of stories!

I loved the premise of this novella, a kissing tree were couples etched their initials in hopes it would mean happily ever after.

Ms. Jennings’ novella kicks off this Texas setting. Broken Limbs, Mended Fences had some moments that had me wincing for the heroes blunders and hoping he’d make a comeback.

In Ms. Witemeyer’s tale, I throughly enjoyed the opposites attract. I also liked imagining the Kissing Tree Inn coming to life. It was a great way to continue the history of the truth.

Ms. Dykes has a way of words and it was the one thing I loved about her story. Plus a veteran looking for his next steps and I was rooting for her.

Lastly, Ms. Deese brings us to the present and as always, I enjoyed her writing and the way she brings depth to her romance.

All in all, 4 different stories that will help you escape and brighten your day.

This is just a delightful collection of novellas which all feature an old oak tree called the kissing tree. Each story is set in a different time period. So many happy romances began at this tree and it has weathered much in its time. The last novella is especially poignant. A quick read and one that is sure to delight your heart.

*My thanks to Bethany House Publishing for a copy of this book. The review here is my own opinion.

I love beautiful old trees, so the theme of a tree connecting four generations really appealed to me. Because of the variety of eras and the authors writing the different stories, each was unique and incorporated the Kissing Tree in a different way. While each story and couple was interesting, I connected the most with the emotions of the first, by Regina Jennings. A dream-killing injury, a challenge to her job, a wager, and unrequited love lead to an unlikely friendship between Bella and a schoolmate from her past. I appreciated how Bella does her best to forgive and look for the good in Adam. He is back in the town he grew up in to sell the latest technology in harvesting, yet his former community has difficulty believing his promises. He and Bella both have something to prove, and the support they give each other goes a long way to make them both successful in their endeavors and relationship. They feel strongly and are compelling as they earnestly seek for solutions to their quandary.

Inn for a Surprise brings the gentle humor author Karen Witemeyer brings to all her books, and the conflicting opinions on what would please the clientele of a hotel brought fun banter as the competition between Phoebe and Barnabas teaches them to listen and compromise in order to make the inn its best.

I most enjoyed in Roots to Sky was the long correspondence between Hannah and Luke, and the way they grew to know each other before ever meeting. The healing and slow-developing sweet romance when they finally meet is lovely.

Heartwood was a little heartbreaking, since the great old tree is coming to the end of its days. I was fascinated with Griffin's occupation of arborist and all the skills and knowledge it involves. Abby's grief over her father bleeds into her lifestyle and the way she can't leave behind his work on the grounds of the inn and move on with her own life choices. Griffin's return resurrects old hurts for both of them that they must face and resolve in order to take risks again and heal.

Centered around a great oak tree in Oak Springs, TX, this novella collection celebrates the legacy of love through generations. Regina Jennings introduces The Kissing Tree in 1868, Karen Witemeyer builds a romantic getaway inn next to The Kissing Tree in 1891, Amanda Dykes adds a cottage to the property in 1945, and Nicole Deese returns back to the tree itself in the present time.

It's incredible how the authors have written these individual novellas to flow and fit so well together. I really enjoyed seeing cameo appearances of the characters (and their progeny) from story to story and felt like I knew The Kissing Tree as an Oak Springs resident by the end of the book. Each author has a unique writing style that will charm you; you can expect a ride into the history of agriculture, a romcom between two complete opposites, a nostalgic and different look at war and loss, and a heart-wrenching growth from fear and grief into healing and remembrance.

I would love to read more collections by these authors. It's a novella collection not to be missed!

I received a copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

THE KISSING TREE, Four novellas steeped in love and faith set in Oak Springs, Texas.

Broken Limbs-Mended Hearts by Regina Jennings.
1868
This was the cutest novella, showing self sacrifice and helping others out of a kind and godly heart. I loved the description of the old oak tree and the canopy that touched the ground and offered a cool, sheltered respite. Bella Eden, a schoolteacher who was afraid of tests and an old schoolmate, Adam Fisher, reunite when he comes to town with his new-fangled thrashing machine. A sheer delight.

Inn For A Surprise by Karen Witemeyer
1891
In her wonderfully witty way, Ms. Witemeyer has given us a heart tugging tale of romantic Phoebe Woodward who wants to open the Kissing Tree Inn and no-nonsense Barnabas Ackerly who has been tasked to help her by his boss who happens to be Phoebe’s father. He doesn’t know it yet but Barnabas has a romantic side hidden beneath his business acumen. I loved the cute names Barnabas called the Inn in the confines of his mind: “Inn of the Smooching Shrubbery, Inn of the Osculating Topiaries and Inn of Pecking Pulp Providers.” This was a clever, touching story.

From Roots to Sky by Amanda Dykes
1945
Amanda Dykes lovely poetic style tells a story of an airman home from the war to find the sister of a buddy he lost in France. Luke and Hannah have dreams for the future: “some dreams fade away when you grow up, an I s’pose that’s all well and good. We trade them for other dreams.”
The old oak tree plays a part in yet another romance. This one had a homey, nostalgic feel to it.

Heartwood by Nicole Deese
Contemporary
Hope from brokenness was the theme here.
Abby and Griffen find triumph and community after a tragedy. Ms. Deese paints a picture of restoration from shattered pieces.

This is one of the best novella collections I have read. The continuity of the old oak tree shines through the eras.

Sweet collection of novellas with an old oak in small town Texas as the central theme. This collection reminds me of when you pass by an old barn, farm or church that has been around for many years and think of stories that place could tell. And then you wish you knew what those stories were.

The Kissing Tree takes readers on that journey: From the mid-1800s to current day.

Readers are introduced to the kissing tree in the first novella Broken Limbs, Mended Hearts (Regina Jennings). 18 year old Bella stands beneath that tree and offers her first kiss to a classmate. He turns her down! Several years later her story continues when Adam returns to town to share a new invention: a threshing machine.

The tale picks up 1891 with Inn for a Surprise (Karen Witemeyer). Phoebe, a "spinster" at 23, has plans to open an inn for romantic getaways next to the kissing tree. Her vision for the inn is pink siding and other over the top feminine features. Her father sends his employee Barnabas to assist in making the inn successful.

Roots to Sky (Amanda Dykes) moves the story forward to 1944/1945. Hannah full of spirit is feeling lonely after the loss of her brother. Luke, a WWII pilot in the European operation, was her brother's friend and promised to write Hannah after her brother's death. Love a romance founded on letters! So sweet.

The conclusion, Heartwood (Nicole Deese) takes place in contemporary times. Abby is the groundskeeper for the land and struggles to move on because it was her deceased father's dream to work the land. Griffin, an arborist, benefited from her father's generosity as well and also loves the outdoors. Theirs is a tale of dealing with grief. Loved the current day details such as the kissing tree having its own Twitter feed.

Enjoyable collection! My gratitude to publisher Bethany House for a complimentary NetGalley copy. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This was the sweetest book! I love how each book is connected by a tree that lasts through generations of people. In the first book we get our first introduction to the tree and see how it's history and legend were started. I love how each story is set in a different decade of time bringing different challenges to the characters.

I thought all the stories were well done. These are all great authors and it's fun to see them writing for one collection. What a fun idea this was! Each story is novella size so I read through them pretty quickly.

The tree is an integral part of each of the couple's stories and romances and I really loved how each generation celebrated the tree's history and honored it's place in their community. It really gave the whole book such a romantic feel.

Content: mild peril, kissing

These four novellas travel through time in Oak Springs, Texas, and weave together love stories surrounding the Kissing Tree. While each story is independent of the other, there are a few ties that bring them all together besides the tree. The main characters in the first story, "Broken Limbs, Mended Hearts", Bella and Adam, make an appearance in "Inn for a Surprise". The Kissing Tree Inn is constructed in "Inn for a Surprise" but is still around in the last two stories and it is a descendent from the story "From Roots to Sky" that ties the fourth story into the book. Each story brings together two souls that thought they couldn't find love and they couldn't be more wrong.

I don't think I can pick a favorite out of these four stories. Each has a unique tale to tell and I fell in love with all of the characters and the situations that they endured to get to the apex of finding their true love.

"The magic found in Oak Springs had less to do with a romantic inn and everything to do with the nature surrounding it."

Broken Limbs, Mended Hearts features Bella and Adam. You could say there were not bosom buddies while in their last year of school, in fact, a situation occurred that had Bella changing her chosen profession. I don't think she ever forgave Adam for that incident until he arrives back in town several years later and realizes she is the one that he wants as his wife. I liked how Adam realized he had a couple of hurdles to cross to win her affection and he is quite creative in helping get past those barriers. I enjoyed this line because progress happens no matter the time and this reminded me of that. Adam says this line to Bella - "I came to Oak Springs to bring our town up to date. It's the 1870s. Progress needs to happen."

Inn for a Surprise is the story of Phoebe and Barnabus. This story had me in stitches because Barnabus thinks that this inn is a lost cause when it comes to marketing and has, in his mind, renamed the inn with several alliterations, including the Inn of Pecking Pulp Providers. When Phoebe stumbles across this information, I think it causes her to see Barnabus in a new light. They work well together as a team and it shouldn't be too surprising that they fall in love. What did surprise me was her father's reaction. You'll have to read the story to discover that answer.

From Roots to Sky is Hannah and Luke's journey. Luke came to Oak Springs out of a sense of obligation to Hannah's brother that died during WWII. He had taken on the task of writing to Hannah and he included drawings of what he saw in Europe, much like her brother had done for her before he died. Hannah is endearing and scattered all at the same time. I'm sure many are not sure how to handle her proclivity to keep moving and not wait for anyone to help her do anything. I admired her determination to forge her own path and not a traditional path that might be expected of a woman in the 1940s.

Heartwood is the last novella and brings together Abby and Griffin. Abby is a descendent of a character mentioned in "From Roots to Sky", Arnie, and the cottage built in that story by Hannah and Luke is another tie to all of the stories. I enjoyed watching these two lovebirds (when they finally admit it) reconnect even though it takes some time to get there since Griffin is there to assess the Kissing Tree and this riles Abby up to no end.  Abby and Griffin know each other well and both love nature and the outdoors. In fact, I liked this line that Abby says to Griffin - "You'll always smell like trees no matter what you squirt on your shirt. Nature's in your DNA."

No matter what sort of story you might like, each novella in this book will appeal to you in one way or another, from the characters to the setting.

We give this book 5 paws ups.

Regina's story is funny and sweet. Bella and Adam were fun characters full of spunk and stubbornness. The bet between Adam and Bella’s father made for an interesting element as well. Cute romance and a good start to the collection of stories.

Karen’s story was charming as always. Her stories have a perfect blend of humor and romance and Barnabas and Phoebe’s story has both. It was an adorable story.

Amanda’s story was great, I love World War 2 stories and this one is set during it so that alone made me enjoy it...but Luke and Hannah made me love it even more. Restoring the house was a fun part of the story too.

I loved Nicole’s story! My favorite part was the letter written by someone affected by the Kissing Tree, it brought tears to my eyes. Abby and Griffin were fun characters and easy to root for them to find their happily ever after.

All in all, this is a superb collection from some of the best authors in Christian Fiction. I can’t even pick a favorite story because I loved each and every one of them. I highly recommend this collection.

I received this book from the author and wasn’t required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my honest opinion.

This is my new favorite novella collection! It has everything I love: historical to contemporary romances, a common and oh-so-cute theme, and fully developed stories. One of the four authors, Amanda Dykes, is new to me, and I love how novellas can make me get a taste for a new voice. I'm certainly going to look into Amanda's other books. When I saw the other three authors were involved, I knew this was a must read.
I cannot get over how cohesive this set is. All four are appealing and felt complete. I want more from most novellas, either because they feel underdeveloped or because I flat out want more story. These have this pretty bow wrapping that does not need nor require flushing out to full length novels.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bethany House for the advanced copy! All thoughts in this review are my own.

A stellar collection of tales that culminate around a magnificent live oak tree.

Picking up this book was a no brainer for me as it features four of my favorite authors, so I had high hopes, and it did not disappoint! I loved how this book followed various couples throughout the span of 150 years, with historical novellas, and then into the present day. This collection features fantastic characters, strong family, and faith. I loved how many of the stories had strong father figures.

A delightful, highly entertaining and enjoyable read, opposites attract and conflict turns to compromise. There was great chemistry between the characters, and though each of these stories was written by a different author with their own signature style, I think it worked so well in this format to tell each of the unique love stories in varying time periods. Highly recommend this novella collection!

Fantastic collection by favorite authors! You don't want to miss this.

In Regina Jennings' Broken Limbs, Mended Fences, the tree of shame grew to be the kissing tree!
In this 1st sweet historical fiction story, Bella Eden meets Adam Fisher three years after he witnesses her embarrassing incident under the huge oak tree. Adam and his new-fangled machine return to town to convince farmers to take a chance on him and make their harvest easier. I really enjoyed their sweet story!

Karen Witemeyer's The Kissing Tree Inn is a hoot! It is sweet and funny! The story of a young romantic spinster Phoebe Woodward and Barnabas Ackerly who is sent by his boss, her father, to make this romantic Inn a success. This is my first Karen Witemeyer story and I loved it. Barnabas kept renaming the Inn funny names (in his mind). "She seemed a female of the more intellectual variety. Sensible. Quiet. Then again, she'd propose the Idiotic Inn of Tree Kissing that threatened his livelihood, so what did he know?"

From Roots to Sky by Amanda Dykes tells the tale of a navy pilot who travels to Texas to meet his navy buddy's sister. Luke Hampstead injured in the war when his plane was shot down, tried to stay alive by writing to his friend's sister Hannah Garland. "There's a time for thinkin' and a time for actin', and many a fool get the two mixed up. " Such a sweet story. These two misfits are perfect for each other!

Heartwood by Nicole Deese is a fantastic last novella in the collection!
Good advice from an unlikely source: " When things feel completely out of my control, my options become very simple: I can either tighten my grip and hang on no matter how much that hold might hurt myself or others, or I can open my fist and trust in a process much bigger than myself.....and let go." He was simply a man who had been broken by pain and scarred by loss. Two things her own heart could relate to well.

Her father "never questioned the rhythm or cycle of the seasons, nor did he doubt the master plan behind it all."

Favorite quotes; "True closure, it seemed, was a daily walk." "But that is the risk in loving people. The depth of heartache often matches the depth of love." "...protect our future by preserving the memories and stories from our past." "May your homes be blessed with love and laughter, and may your hearts be open to receive the gift of God's beautiful creation."

At first, I planned to write how I really enjoyed all these stories, and what I liked about each of them. And the thought that my genealogical mind may have liked a more direct tie between the stories, but this last story hit it out of the park with a beautiful ending that tied it all together (and made it less important to have that timeline). LOVED. It.

We joke about it, but the reality is life in 2020 has been difficult for many of us. The Kissing Tree by Regina Jennings, Karen Witemeyer, Amanda Dykes and Nicole Deese is a book of four novellas written in such a way to take you away from the stress of today's world for awhile and to leave you with a happy ending sigh.

The Kissing Tree begins with Broken Limbs, Mended Hearts by Regina Jennings and is set in 1868. The past few years have been difficult for Bella Eden after suffering a broken wrist and heartbreak at an old oak tree in town. Then a man from her past returns to town and disrupts her life with his new job and new invention.

Inn For a Surprise by Karen Witemeyer is an uplifting story about Phoebe Woodward building a new inn in the late1800s. Her father sends, Barnabas, a property manager to help her with promotion to make the inn a success. Will the two be able to work together to do just that?

From Roots to Sky by Amanda Dykes is set in the 1940s and follows WWII airman Luke Hampstead as he seeks to find the sister of his fellow airman to thank her for her letters. He finds Hannah in Oak Springs, Texas--and helps her build a house to honor his friend.

Hearrtwood is set in today's world. Abby Brookshire is the head groundskeeper at the Kissing Tree Inn and is upset when The Kissing Tree is in danger of being removed. Can she work with her former beau, Griffin, to save the tree?

I enjoyed The Kissing Tree from beginning to end. It was fun to see some of the characters make their way from one story to the next through another generation and it was also fun to see how the tree and the town had changed through the years. It was also fun to read about how the special oak tree played a part in each story and sort of told about the circle of life in a good way. I enjoyed all of the characters through the stories. I did just relax and enjoy reading about a special place through the ages and enjoyed the happy stories at a time when I needed it. Maybe it is just what you need too?

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

The Kissing Tree contains four short stories by Regina Jennings, Karen Witemeyer, Amanda Dykes and Nicole Deese. Though they are apart in time, they are centered around a famous big old tree, called The Kissing Tree in a small town in Texas. For me, it is very rare that I love all four stories and therefore almost impossible to get a 5 star rating for the entire book, but in this case I actually loved them all!

Regina Jennings starts off with a bang, as she introduces a handsome man with farming machinery among the sceptical Texas people. He makes a deal with the father of a girl he once fancied, but little does he know how this will impact her life... and it was so much fun to read! Epic finale is all I can say.

Karen Witemeyer follows next with a shy but dreamy woman who wants to start her own romantic getaway inn and someone who is sent by her father to make sure it will work financially. I am a HUGE Karen Witemeyer fan, I have read everything she wrote, and I have to say this is my favorite novella yet. It had me laughing out loud several times and it is just amazing writing, characters and plot.

Amanda Dykes kinda broke my heart and repaired it too, with her novella on a WW2 pilot who seeks out the women he wrote too during the war. I loved that it wasn’t the usual dramatics where she doesn’t know who she is and is mad when she finds out etc, but rather a slow healing of hearts and opening up to one another. And Hannah is such an unusual and amazing character!

I didn’t expect to like Nicole Deese’s story as it is contemporary and that is just not my genre. But she suprised me in a very good way and showed me that romance can be very much alive today, too! It is a story of loss and how to cope, and I loved it all.

All in all, I can really recommend these short stories! They are strong on their own, and even stronger together as characters and places weave through all four stories and connect them to a higher level.

I’ve got a free e-arc from the publishers, but it has not influenced my opinions.

Read Review Rejoice's Revew of Broken Limbs, Mended Hearts Regina Jennings: This is an adorable shorter novella that drew me in with every page even with the embarrassment in the story. I love how the cover fits the collection perfectly!

Review of Inn for a Surprise by Karen Witemeyer:
Without the suspenseful adventure of most of her stories I wasn't sure what to expect from Karen Witemeyer's "Inn for a Surprise" but I fell in love with the idea of the story right along with Phoebe and Barnabas as they grew to love each other.

Review of From Roots to Sky:
Dykes has such a way with words... She pulls me in and doesn't let go of my heart for a good long while.

Maybe it is the WWII theme or maybe it is the poetic way of writing the heart of a story on the page, I don't know, I just know that she is always on my list of need to read authors.

Review of Heartwood by Nicole Deese:
This is only the second story that I have read from Nicole Deese and I was hooked from the start!

I love the sweet and light but still has a hidden gem depth showing truth and love.

The bittersweet ending was just so wonderful, I really look forward to reading more from both authors.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

The Kissing Tree is one of the strongest collection of its type I've ever read. I enjoyed each of the four novellas with well-drawn characters. None of the romances seemed rushed, which can be a temptation in novellas. The settings were unique and interesting despite all centering around The Kissing Tree, a grand oak in Texas.

Two of the authors were already among my favorites. Two others I'd heard of but not read anything by. I enjoyed those stories equally!

Broken Limbs, Mended Fences by Regina Jennings

Adam and Bella was the cutest couple and my favourite in this novella. I loved how at the end they each tried to help the other one get what they wanted, even if it meant a loss for themselves.

The Kissing Tree Inn by Karen Witemeyer

This was such a fun novella and a cute story which showed how two opposites can bring out the best in each other.

From Roots to Sky' by Amanda Dykes

Strangers becoming acquaintances through the writing of letters and finally a in person meet which resulted in a sweet novella.

Heartwood by Nicole Deese

This was a beautiful story of second chances.

All of these novella's highlighted the strong points of the writers and brought together a collection of sweet novellas.

Excellent! I love all these authors, so when I had a chance to read this book as an advanced copy, I just had to jump. This book is the best of each author in a novella. The resulting collection is just amazing. I will be honest. I would be hard pressed to choose my favorite! Regina Jennings’ introduction to the tree was excellent. Karen Witemeyer’s was just as good! Then the WW2 story by Amanda Dykes was beautiful. And nothing against the final author, but my history heart was a bit disappointed by a contemporary story. I did love it!

Seriously this book is easily worth your time!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise.

A creative masterpiece! Four sweet novellas, each taking place in the small town of Oak Springs, Texas and each revolving around a giant oak dubbed by locals as The Kissing Tree. From first story to last spans over 150 years, yet each story shares a timeless tale of trust, of healing, and of love. Each author manages to maintain focus and avoid trying to cover too much ground as often happens in novellas.

This was a richly entertaining and beautifully written book that I will be re-reading for years to come. Highly recommend to readers of Christian fiction everywhere.

I received a complimentary copy but my opinion is my own.
