I'm an Unread addict but this one was a belter! I love the discovery of Meredith's identity and Blowers!!!!! Wow!!!! I never saw 'the thing' that happens with Maddox coming either! Bloomin' 'eck! I was very very glad though. I can't really say any more than that because it will spoil things though he still reminds me of John Boyega in 'Attack the Block'. Interesting moral debate about a certain situation. I ended up changing my opinion after hearing Maddox's comment! Lily kind of reminds me of Bethany in Corrie. I can't help it, I do that! Am I alone on that one? I like where they are heading because I live there so they can come rescue me! I might be a tiny bit past it but I'm feisty as eff when a wrong needs to be made right! Soooo.... axe or shotgun ....can I have both? Can I bring my cats?
I love the undead the character s make me laugh and cry when they die love the story can't wait to find out what going to happen when that little boy and gregori are at the fort .
I gave 5 stars cuz that what the book is a 5 star a great writer and I hope he keeps it up with his other books.
This book made me think and I'm crying as the review is being written. I am so connected to these characters and I have become so involved - even though the morally grey areas are hard to swallow, there's methods in all the madness- day 21 I'm scared
The zombie saga continues and the pack faces their biggest battle to date and comes of age ,onward and upwards ,I've missed reading about Howie and his band of fighters so pleased there's more in store
Wow, just wow! For the past 20 months, I have bought one book within the series. I truly feel I have gone on such an emotional roller coaster with every character. After finishing each book, I would count down the days, hours, and minutes until I was able to get the next months one.
If you have been searching for a all round zombie book, then look here. If you've been trying to find the perfect zombie/apocalypse story, then look here. If you have never read this type of genre, then do so, I promise you, you won't be disappointed.
Every character I feel like I truly know them all inside and out, I felt the growth of each character as they grew within each book. I cried when they cried, laughed at soooo many one liners, situations that they had gotten into. This series is incredible!
Howie is a tesco worker, and to see his growth, Dave is autistic and to see how he grows with the dynamic of the Zombie Killing Team just makes my heart swell. Every person that came along all had back stories, and it just all blended so well. You really did feel like you're fighting along with them. The twists and turns within every book are just beyond words. I want this killing team on my side if the apocalypse ever happens! Considering every book contained so much going on, sometimes at once R.R.Haywood has done incredible well remembering and rounding up every single storyline within each book. I haven't walked away from one of his books thinking "but what happened to such and such" you can tell if something is rounding up for a cliffhanger so these keep you guessing and wanting to read more however everything is always tied up perfectly.
If you haven't done so, I would highly recommend listening to the R.R.Haywoods series of TheUndead on audio. Dan Morgan narrates around 10 of the books, and i thought he was awesome and was gutted to have a different narrator to carry on the journey. However, Joe Jameson smashed it out of the bag. The only difference that stood out to me was Dave. His voice is a very strong army type, i felt that Dan Morgan portrayed this slightly better. Joe Jameson is the narrator for the later part of TheUndead series, and to say he is talented is a true understatement. Within one book, there are usually around 30 people through the book speaking regularly he has different voices for every single one of them! He brings the emotions written on the page of each character and brings it alive.
I really can't recommend these books enough. I do hope they continue forever. However, I feel this may not be the case, and I'll feel lost without the team by my side, haha. Hats off to R.R. Haywood, thank you for thinking and writing such an incredible series. Nothing will be able to beat it.

I felt sorry for Maddox. He made a mistake, a big one, which resulted in a lot of deaths and injuries but he did what he thought was best and was trying to protect everyone. I wanted him to try and fit in more. He isolated himself, which made it easier for everyone to hate him even more.
I was surprised by the plot twist and the return of a certain character that was meant to be dead and it was emotional when Blowers nearly died. He fought as hard as possible to protect Maddox and the women giving birth.
I'm curious about Kyle. There's more to him than he's letting on and he seems to have a few dark secrets.
The pacing was a little slow at times and while there was constantly something happening (fighting, searching for supplies, planning etc), I would've liked something big to happen, plot wise. I feel like the last few books have been quite similar without much progression overall.
All this serious are fantastic but this book had me sobbing G towards the end...twice ...A damn good author can evoke such emotions and this author has throughout the whole series...this 1 evoked so many ...I tell my family all what's happening and even had admittolarge group of friends why I was sobbing when I turnt up ...was given loads of hugs ...lots of ppl now have asked me who the author is so they to can read these amazing books and learnabojtthisdisfunctionfamily of non related ppl doing what they do best. ..named a new horse Dave.... Best books I've ever read...
Brilliant series just finished Day 19 and now on Day 20. Would highly recommend this series. They are books where you can see the individual characters, what they look like and their individual personalities. As your reading you become immersed in the story and really feel for the characters. You feel their joy, their sadness and their pain when they lose one of their team. You will laugh out loud and cry with them. I can't wait to find out how the infection started, how some are infected but haven't changed and how some came to be immune from it. So give them a go I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I have never read a series where each book is full of action. The author's descriptions of the scenes had me feeling like I was in these places before. I like the characters and indeed they are a crazy bunch! Lol. Great thing is that the author keeps these great characters and doesn't have them killed off, but instead makes a bigger group of interwoven characters that you're going to become attached to. 💯
Day Twenty was the best since the first two weeks. I have no complaints. I laughed and cried and I was sad at the end for everybody. These people have to be tired of trying to save the world. They all work well together and through it all, they have fun times too. This series pulls you in and leaves you wanting more with each day. I can't stop reading it.
That was so tense! I was so scared that someone was going to bite it.. but I seriously still want Reggie to spill the beans! I kinda get what “One Race” means. Maybe but ooo the supernatural/spiritual element is such a good mystery I want to leap to the end.. but not because I know so much more is going to happen..”every 30 min just about” haha!
Another good instalment! Day 20 felt slightly slow paced at times, with minimal overall plot progression. However, there still just as much action, tense moment and funny dialogue as ever.
I truly love these characters and the feelings they evoke. Haywood has done an amazing job a creating genuinely unique, realistic and likeable characters who you can’t help but love.
Have now read all 23 books. They are brilliant, they keep you on the edge of your seat. I hope there is going to be a book 24, and more. I hope they make this into a series on TV, it would make ‘The Walking Dead’, look inferior. Highly recommend.
I cried so hard! I laughed and yelled and my husband thinks I'm nuts for being so obsessed. You do realize, when this series is over, I don't know what I'm going to do with my life!
R.R. Haywood knows people. The little nuanced that create an individual. What makes them tick and break, and he makes it funny yet full of heart. He is genius
So invested with the characters in this book and the story line . It's a heart thumping fast paced read that has You up till the crack of dawn . I have laughed out loud and nearly had my heart broken with this addictive series .
Slightly different to some of the others, with more anticipation and more personal conflict. but as usual the last third of the book is incredible on many levels.
I dont know how but this series gets more intense, more gripping and more beautiful with each instalment. This one had me crying on a bus full of people
