You know what’s interesting about Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens? Nothing.

An emoji-themed cult leader being pursued by Dredd and an unoriginal Doctor Moreau-type experimenting with splicing Xenomorphs with humans and animals bring the three franchises together for a brief and forgettable argy-bargy.

They all predictably do their thing – Predators hunt, Aliens intimidate, Dredd grimaces – and no part of the story really stands out as especially exciting. I don’t usually mention the lettering but Michael Heisler’s work on this book was rubbish with more than a few letters appearing outside of the word balloons.

John Layman writes a good Dredd though – he’s got that bite and intensely aggressive and arrogant attitude you don’t always see with crappier Dredd writers. Chris Mooneyham’s art was ok and Glenn Fabry’s covers were excellent.

Is it worth reading Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens? No dice!

WELCOME TO THE ULTIMATE BRAWL IN THE UNIVERSE!!!

Not best storyline ever at all and absolutely not as good as the awesome Judge Dredd vs. Aliens: Incubus crossover, but it was a real funny read and Archbishop Emoji and the mad doctor were really crazy weird villains old Dredd/2000 AD comics style.
And Glenn Fabry's covers were just over the top.

This crossover did a good job of combining the three franchises without making it seem too forced. There was a lot going on here, but it was a good read. A Predator crash lands in the swamps of Mega City one where he's killed by a group of half human half animal animan. The mad doctor that created the animan raids the predator ship and find alien DNA. Then a psychotic robot ends up leading Judge Dredd and some other judges on a chase into the swamp about the same time the dead Predator's friends show up to find him. You can see there this is going as all of the groups converge and things explode from there.

The art was exceptional in this one and the story was a little more fleshed out than the usual long fight scenes. If you are fan of any of the three franchises, this one is worth a read.

Very good! So its Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens; Just shut up and take my money!! So as far as crossovers go, this one is really good, I would say its a textbook example of how to do a comic book crossover with 3 popular franchises properly! So the story is there is this Mad Scientist loose on the outskirts of Mega City One and he has an army of Animal man, as he does gene splicing experiments; Judge Dredd is tracking him down; when meanwhile a Predator who landed on the planet for hunting gets captured alongside some Alien eggs! The story was overall really good, much better then I expected, they could of just had action and I would have been fine with it but the writing was very good! Artwork is also really good and clean! But ya overall I really liked this one; definitely one of the best mini-series I've read this year!

Cracking art and a solid fan-pleasing story. I love the intransigence of Dredd, his absolute refusal to ever back down. I thought the setting was good and all of the factions were well implemented within the book.

The design is solid and the whole collected comic is a visual treat. This is neither deep nor meaningful but it is a solid read and internally consistent.

It is not too long so does not overstay its welcome and the art is of such high quality that i read some of it again straight away just to appreciate that aspect of it a little more.

Every aspect of this was fun.

Can't say there's much in the way of originality when it comes to this one. Dredd takes on a couple of Predators and a gene splicer who has access to the xenomorph DNA. That's pretty much it. And if you've read either of the one-offs featuring both these monsters separately, or any Dredd prog collection, you're already gonna be sure of the ending.

Not to say that this 4 series one-off isn't fun for a quick 45 min read. The art is great and it's action packed and full of plenty of blood. I guess that's a win in my book.

Actual rating 4.5! When my friend pointed this graphic novel out to me, I thought it was one of the most insane things I've ever seen. And it really, really is, so if you're going to read it (and if you're a fan of any of these iconic characters, you totally need to), go into it the way you would a blockbuster movie: You're just here to go along for the ride and have some fun. And that is why I loved this graphic novel so much! It was an absolute blast to see disturbing human hybrids, Alien infestations, and (my personal favourite) Judge Dredd shouting THE LAW at the Predators. Honestly, that alone is worth the price of admission. While the story is surprisingly well crafted, if you're looking for drama and character development, you are absolutely in the wrong place. This novel takes its title premise and COMMITS to it. Dredd is the biggest star of the trio, and you will not forget it as he takes the time to punish literally every criminal he sees. It's AWESOME. The action is great and the art is stellar in regard to the Aliens, which unfortunately leads me to my lone complaint: I didn't think the finale was equal to the buildup. Once I got to the final confrontation, I was expecting an epic smackdown. Not the case, but I can't really fault the writers because they gave me everything else and more that I could have asked for. If you're a fan of Predator and Judge Dredd (sorry, Alien doesn't get as much love as it deserves, but there is still love!), you need to get this yesterday. It is one of the most fun graphic novels I've ever read, and I can't imagine passing it up.

Being that the Xenomorphs of the Alien franchise and the Predator aliens of the Predator franchise are both, well, alien, they are both uniquely able to find themselves in the world's of other characters. By contrast, Judge Dredd is as much a part of Mega City One as it is a part of him. A Judge Dress story doesn't really make sense if taken out of his world. So in this mashup, we see the two alien species come to the world of Judge Dredd, where, of course, violence and bloodshed occur.

Though this book isn't quite as perfect at capturing the tone of each character as was the last trade paperback with this title, unlike the last one, this one is a single narrative. So, this is actually the first time we see a Predator alien, a xenomorph, and Judge Dredd all appear in a single panel at the same time, in story. Interesting and unique things are done with each character while staying true to all the convoluted mythologies.

Basically, if you know what the three things are in the title of is book, and think you will enjoy seeing them all together in a single story, you probably will. It isn't classic literature. But it is fun.

It's not really "Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens"....it's more "Judge Dredd and some Predators vs. Aliens", with Judge Anderson tagging along for the ride. The art is OK and the story gives us more or less what we want: crazed Dr. Moreau type geneticist unleashing the xenomorphs from his Cursed Earth hideout (in the "Alabama Morass").

IDW's Dredd seems a bit tame in comparison to the 2000AD originals, perhaps lacking the black humour and distinctive dollop of weird. It's not as good as the earlier Incubus crossover and four stars is generous...but there are Aliens, Predators and Dredd conducting his unique brand of community policing ("time's up for you, scum"). It also contains the line "Ugly mother spugger aren't you?"

It was a fun series and especially the first issue was one of my favourites. It sure needed two more issues minimum for the story to breath as some fights seemed rushed and the Alien hybrids were to easy to kill. Dredd was characterized really well and I also liked Archbishop Emogi. The art and colours were nice and fitting. All in all, if you want to make a series with three different franchises, is difficult because the writer has to make up a believable excuse for all the characters to meet. In this case it was a successful concept.

Not the most original plot, but writer John Layman delivers a fast-paced, action-packed gory thrill ride that pits Judge Dredd, Judge Anderson, and a couple Predators against a cadre of DNA spliced Aliens that have been cooked up by a mad scientist and a rogue A.I. prophet. If you like these three franchises then you will love this book. The artwork, by Chris Mooneyham, is worth the price of admission alone.

First Judge Dredd I have ever read.
The art is pretty good; somewhat dark, but it fits the story.
While I liked the story, I did find Dredd to be a fairly unlikeable, one dimensional character. Hard to believe he is so popular.

"I AM THE LAW". Watch good ol' Dredd go against the most dangerous creatures in the universe. Throw the Predators in the mix and you'll get a full action package of blood, guts and violence. Enjoy.

I don't know what I was expecting; it's pretty typical for a Predator and/or Aliens crossover with an added dollop of mediocre Dreddness.
