Would the real Wade Wilson please stand up? Deadpool returns to America, but he's not coming home alone! When a collection of Deadpool's discarded body parts meld to form an evil clone, the Merc With a Mouth faces off against himself for the crown of most hated former mercenary turned super hero turned pirate turned intergalactic bounty hunter. But their explosive confrontation brings the NYPD, Interpol and even Captain America bearing down on Deadpool, and he'll have to convince them all there's an even crazier, less principled version of himself on the loose! Plus: Deadpool: The Musical!
I always wondered what happened to the body parts inevitably chopped off of Deadpool - do they just die and rot while his original body regrows them or does an entire body regrow from those pieces? Well, turns out if you get enough pieces together, they congeal into a whole new Deadpool: Evil Deadpool!
I think Daniel Way’s about done with the title at this point. Evil Deadpool is a largely uninteresting read where Deadpool and his Evil clone battle across New York. ‘splosions and whatnot occur, Cap shows up, but it’s very dull, pointless stuff.
Deadpool’s on a heroic kick so it’s kinda funny when he realises Evil Deadpool is trying to tear down his rep and decides to preempt him by doing it himself! Which of course means strapping on a bomb and kidnapping a child in Times Square - great thinking, Wade, that’s a helluva lot of sense you had to dodge to arrive at that conclusion!
There’s also a musical issue which sounds better than it actually is. It summarises Way’s Deadpool run to various songs but if you don’t know what they sound like you won’t hear them in your head so you end up just reading weirdly written dialogue. It’s yet another reason why music and comics don’t work together at all.
Evil Deadpool is Daniel Way struggling to keep the title going but it’s clear that there’s very little gas left in the tank. It’s not a great addition to the series and it’s easy to see why Way bailed after the next volume.
I shouldn't be bored by Deadpool. But what we have here has too little story and too few wacky hijinks to be satisfying as a Deadpool story. Or, really, any kind of story. It picks up where the previous collection (Deadpool: Institutionalized) left off, with a dull evil twin/clone story that lasts too long and does too little.
I think this probably be described as "writing for the trade". Take a lackluster storyline, extend it two or three times longer than it has any right being, lather, rinse, repeat. The same was true of the previous two collections. Between the three, there's 14 issues of Deadpool, with only about 5 or 6 issues worth of storyline.
This isn't even getting into Deadpool: The Musical, which is almost physically painful to read. Do yourself a favor and skip it.
This is the third Deadpool-by-Way collection in a row I've given 2 stars, and for all the same reasons. I'd give it up now, but there's just one collection left! And the "Deadpool is suicidal" storyline (you know, the one intersting thing left in this series) still has my attention, and I want to see where it goes.
Hey, a Deadpool book I didn't hate! The only thing Daniel Way had to do to make me sort of enjoy his writing is fail to include almost any female characters whatsoever. I'm not saying I'm GLAD there were no women in this book. I'm just saying Daniel Way is such an incredible sexist that this book's lack of women means there are fewer of them to be debased and abused by his atrocious writing. Now that I think about it, maybe I should give this book fewer stars, but I don't know! This one made me laugh a couple times!
The setup is a pretty great idea, actually: an "Evil Deadpool" has been created because a bunch of the regular Deadpool's discarded and later re-grown body parts have congealed into an all-new, completely deformed and dysfunctional Deadpool, only interested in murder and mayhem. The morally confused regular Deadpool thus has to track down this duplicate of himself and end his killing spree. The ensuing chaos is utterly nuts and creates a lot of opportunities for some solid character moments for both versions of Deadpool.
That said, this all builds to a pretty anti-climactic ending, but just the mere fact that a Deadpool book presented some fresh and creative ideas is enough for me to give this one a positive. The only thing is, so much of Daniel Way's Deadpool run has been utterly terrible that there's basically nothing he can ever do for me to forgive it. This was a decent entry in an otherwise garbage run of comics, but even a broken pile of shit is right twice a day, apparently.
So there! Don't read Deadpool, but if you already are, this one's fine!
A strictly average Deadpool entry for me. It had its share of funny moments, along with some occasional edgy, uneasy bits of ultra-violence. I liked the Captain America cameo and the whole concept of evil Deadpool. However, this volume got knocked down a bit by the inclusion of "Deadpool the Musical" which I found both unfunny and unreadable.
Huh, this was... the best one in a long time (2 weeks, more accurately). It was what you'd expect from a Deadpool comic: hilarity, madness, savage action, except it also included Deadpool'd recicled parts forming another DP! The dumb thing is, Deadpool brought this upon himself, but well, he does clean up his mess afterwards (sometimes not so much, though).
Some fun issues in this collection. Deadpool arguing with his (evil twin? Doppelgänger?) was amusing. The whole Deadpool –wants–to–die thing has gotten old.
The dead parts of Deadpool that Dr Whitby had stored in her fridge have come together to form a new evil Deadpool. Evil Deadpool will do anything as long as its evil. He takes on a mission to murder children and #therealDeadpool, along with Captain America, AND most of NYPD, are trying to stop him.
Would you like to know about a semi-hero? You should read this to find out.Deadpool:Evil Deadpool by Daniel way,Salva Espin, and John McCrea shows you and tells you how he does it.This fictional graphic novel gives you the details on how he handles his life. This book makes you want to read this many times.
This book is about a semi-hero who was a villain who killed people and blew up things.People think he is still evil because there is another one of him who has shares the same parts and thinks alike. The most interesting part in this book is when Deadpool and evil Deadpool starts fighting and shoots at each other.Another interesting part in this book is when captain america fights Deadpool and captain america’s shield hit captain america’s head after he threw it. “Captain America:Me and Bruce gave you a chance. Deadpool:You were in on that?! Captain America We thought you could be cured. Captain America: But there is no cure for you.” The main characters are Deadpool,Evil- Deadpool,Captain America. The setting is in New york city,New York.Deadpool fights Captain America and Evil Deadpool at different times. Evil Deadpool does bad things and Captain America and police think Deadpool is doing it.The author’s meaning of the story is that when you do bad things, people lose trust in you.“Police chief:Deadpool took my kids! Evil Deadpool:Of course,He thinks Deadpool did it” Evil Deadpool kidnapped the city’s police chief’s children to make it seem like Deadpool did it.
This book reminds me of another book called X-men New age because Wolverine used to do bad things for this mutant group but now he is in a good mutant group but police and government agencies think he is still a bad guy. This book also reminds me of a game called Grand Theft Auto 5 because franklin used to rob people for money but now he is trying to get his life back together. What I like most about this book is that it shows you and tells you what’s happening specifically.I liked this book because I’m interested into graphic novels. “ Captain America:It means DeadPool knew he was being followed. It means he led me here for a reason.” The dialogue is interesting because he makes it seem like you are there. The illustrations are drawn and colored well.I like the way he makes the characters seem like they are in a movie. The author makes the fights look real. The author puts real places in the book. The way they talk in the book they refer something to something else.I think people who like graphic novels would like this book because this book has all the parts to a good graphic novel. What I liked the least about this book is that it’s interesting at some parts not all parts.I liked it the least because the parts that were interesting made me want to read it,and the parts that were not interesting made me want to stop reading it.”Yup same trick I always use.Do something that makes absolutely no sense and then, while the enemy wastes time trying to make sense out of it.”What could of been different about the book is that it could of been more action in it.
This book could've been better if it had more work.People who are interested in graphic novels should read this should read this book because it’s interesting most parts and the pictures are drawn nicely.I rate this book a 4 out of 5 because it’s interesting but it could be better.
Evil Deadpool is a creature made from the severed parts lost by Deadpool over the years. They were collected by an obsessive fan in the previous volume. Now the parts are fused together into a killing machine with all of Deadpool's skills and none of his arguably-dubious conscience. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game with plenty of destruction where each Deadpool is trying to get the upper hand on the other.
I like the idea of Evil Deadpool, the circumstances of his existing and the lead up here. In terms of their battle it didn't quite land, and Captain America seems really unnecessary to the story. Solid but not amazing.
Very fun 💜 Why was evil deadpool racist 😦 A lot of kidnapped kids His eye color keeps switching from brown to blue Cap hates his ass so bad 😭 but hes Wade's idol 3
This is probably my least favorite Deadpool so far, but I haven't read many. The concept of an evil Deadpool is interesting and has the potential to be amusing, yet it is done so often in other series. Also, Deadpool is already amusing, so how can a crazier version be any better? In this collection evil Deadpool goes around creating mayhem while regular Deadpool gets blamed for it. Deadpool tries to stop crazy Deadpool from ruining his name and killing everyone. Captain, or General, or whatever rank, America comes to stop the Deadpool(s) and he does his usual no personality, take charge of everything, I must be right, thing. The police try to help (really, police? let the professionals handle it) and are largely ineffective. All in all it *sounds* like an interesting story, but it is mismashed, and I didn't really care about the kids that are in danger or whether or not the superhero world thinks Deadpool is good or bad. No matter how much writers try to dress it up, Deadpool is insane. Maybe that makes him amusing, but it also limits plot potential, and forces humor where there doesn't always need to be humor. I found this story to be a little shallow, and the secondary cast of characters took away from the Deadpool hijinks, so it was just ok. I feel like you either make a ridiculous, over the top, funny Deadpool comic, or you make a serious background story Deadpool comic, this isn't really either, and that's why I didn't like it.
Loved this volume with the exception of the very last issue which had nothing to do with the story arc and was basically just a musical summation of the series thus far.
Deadpool discovers that the spare body parts that were kept in a fridge by his crazy British stalker have taken on a life of their own. Evil Deadpool proves to be a formidable foe as he thinks exactly like THE original making the Merc with the Mouth's typical strategic twists and surprises near impossible to pull off.
The interaction between the two Deadpool characters was entertaining and this strange scenario added a nice layer to a Deadpool match up which can sometimes border on tedious, I mean Deadpool doesn't have a "kryptonite". Captain America also gets involved, and he is always a welcomed addition to any story, in my opinion.
After Volumes 7-8, I'd almost lost faith in Daniel Way's Deadpool, which was usually daft, but enjoyable. Volumes 7-8 got the daft, and forgot the enjoyable. However, Volume 9 got back on track with a decent storyline, and Volume 10 picks up right where that left off to give a decent look at Deadpool as a character whilst still having the usual nutcase antics that we've come to expect. This volume would have gotten 4 stars, if not for the truly dreadful Deadpool: The Musical contained in the final issue, which just doesn't work as a comic book, or as a musical. Nice to see that we're (mostly) back to the usual quality though, and I look forward to the next volume, aptly titled "Dead".
I enjoyed this more than other related Deadpool comics, since it had lots of twists and turns and silliness, but also had some psychological tension. The story did drag on a little bit, but was mostly entertaining throughout. I didn't much enjoy the musical .1 issue at the end, but that's likely because I had only passing familiarity with one of the songs, and it wasn't one that I wanted to drag out into my memory. Still, it was enjoyable, and a fairly good recap of the story thus far ahead of issue 50.
i thought this was a great book. it was full of humor and drama. i really loved how evil Deadpool had all of his memories and powers. it was funny how evil Deadpool's arm was on back words so he can shoot while running away. i loved how they put Captan Amarica in the book even though he did not play a big part. it was so cool how Deadpool kidnaped the police officers kid so evil Deadpool could not kill them.
I think the primary one is that there's no real reason for "Evil Deadpool" to be evil. The other things is that he is really evil, which takes a lot of comedy out of the story.
Captain America shows up again to be the largely ineffective symbol of authority.
Ultimately it's a good (albeit classic) set-up but it seems that no one knew what to do.
The war within Deadpool rages on, only this time there's a physical body for him to fight. I like this storyline and how Deadpool is trying so hard to fit in and be something that people can like and look up to, but he manages to fail every time. This volume was hilarious, and made me eager to see what's next with ol' Deadpool. The ending was awesome and left me on the edge of my seat.
I was left quite disappointed by the previous one, but this book was much better. I still don't like this series as much as Cable & Deadpool and I have a lot of issues with what Daniel Way does sometimes, but at least I managed to get some laughs and I thought the plot was quite well done. Also the "bonus" at the end was absolutely hilarious.
Compared to the last volume, this is pure gold. But that's not saying much as the last one was cringe-worthy and almost unreadable. Evil Deadpool gives us an interesting look at how Deadpool is perceived and how he perceives himself. Left me interested to see how the story pans out in the final 14 issues of Way's run.
"Would you rather lose a hand or a finger?" "A Finger" "That's what everybody says." "Your point being...?" "I've lost lotsa fingers. It hurts. It hurts the same as losin' a hand." "A man only has two hands." "Yeah, but he has ten fingers."
I love Deadpool logic. This trade gives you double! How can you not love that?
Deadpool's regenerated so much there's a doppelganger of stuck-together parts out wandering around, making mischief: aw, evil twin time. Remember, this is the stuff that got cut out, time and time again. Look at that patched-together body. Kind of deep, albeit in a completely idiotic way.
I wasn't over the top about this one. I've read better Deadpool books, but this one did have some laugh out loud moments so it deserved 3 stars. I think what really made this book was the last comic, suddenly it was a musical and there were all these characters I didn't know but it was so funny.
I've never read a Deadpool comic before so I picked this up from the library. It's a cool book even though I didn't read the almost 40 issues before it. He's an insane character and I'll read more of him.
An 'evil' Deadpool was created from bodyparts that Deadpool had lost over the years. Not exactly sure why this Deadpool is particularly evil and not just a rough replica but the story is pretty amusing and Deadpool essentially has to outsmart and outthink himself. Really good twists and turns.
