Die Engländerin Iliana Wildwood muss heiraten um ihre Mutter aus einer Notlage zu befreien. Ihr zukünftiger Mann ist Schotte und Iliana ist entsetzt, als sie auf seine Burg kommt: Nicht nur die Burg selbst starrt vor Dreck - auch ihr Bräutigam Duncan stinkt zum Himmel! Er versteht hingegen überhaupt nicht ihr Problem; schließlich ist es erst Juni und das nächste Bad steht erst wieder im Juli an. Und schließlich hat er ja im Januar zuletzt gebadet, wo ist also das Problem. Als er nach der vollzogenen Trauung sein Recht im Ehebett einfordern will, erwartet ihn seine hübsche und trotzige Gemahlin schon im Bett - mit einem Keuschheitsgürtel! Und diesen legt sie erst dann ab, wenn er gebadet hat.
Ein sehr amüsanter Roman von Lynsay Sands. Leichte Kost, die man schnell gelesen hat. Witzig ist, dass Duncan ständig verdächtig wird seine Frau im Bett zu verausgaben - dabei ist diese nur so fertig weil sie die Burg säubert. Sehr lustig, wenn er sich ständig von seinem Vater geschimpft wird. Alles in allem nette aber leichte Unterhaltung für zwischendurch.
