Reah's mental health is compromised, new enemies appear and Teeg's control of the Campiaan Alliance is threatened. While Reah struggles to regain her health, her mates work to redeem themselves and reclaim her trust. Meanwhile, signs begin to appear—are the god wars imminent? Only time will tell…
Connie Suttle lives in Oklahoma with her husband and three cats.
Connie holds an MFA in Fine Art (film production and animation) and taught courses at the university level before moving on to bookstore management. Nowadays, if she isn't writing or editing, she's dreaming up her next book.
After years of fighting her battles all alone, Reah finally had enough. She has been abused and neglected all her life, her own daughters know nothing about her, her mates can't understand her and to make it even worse now she is a laughing stalk of both Alliances worlds.
Reah is depressed and tired. After 25 years of being forgotten by her mates now they want her back but things aren't that simple. Can Reah forgive all her mates and start over with them or is she going to choose to run away from them and find happiness elsewhere, far away from them all?
My Thoughts
Every time I read one of Connie Suttle's books I loose myself in a world that she has created for her characters. When I'm starting reading her works I usually don't put it down until I finish all of it and Demon's Dream wasn't an exception.
Demon's Dream is simply a great book. There is nothing I didn't like about it. After everything that Reah has been through, it's a miracle that she's still trying to help others rather then thinking only about herself.
I am simply in love with the world created by Connie Suttle and can't wait for her new series "God Wars" to come out. :)
MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I loved this book. It was so beautiful and I felt like Reah's story ended exactly where it was supposed to. Everything I wanted to happen happened and some things that I didn't even know I wanted, I got. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book and I didn't want to put it down for the life of me. I have had many ups and downs with this series but everything happened for a reason and I think this series is better because of it. Reah has had such a harsh life. Every book has brought more and more obstacles and betrayals to her. I honestly don't know how she survived all of the stuff she has been through. I really admire her strength and her compassion for other people. Even the people that have betrayed and wronged her, she always finds it in her heart to forgive them which is astounding to me. She could have walked away from all of the people in her life a long time ago but she didn't. She stayed and fought everyday for herself and the life she wanted. I said before that I felt like Reah needed to stand up for herself and she definitely did in this book. She told all of the people in her life how bad they treated her and told them how it was going to be if they wanted to remain her life. That took guts and I was so proud of her. I have said that if anyone deserves a happy ending it should be Reah and I feel like she got it. I am so unbelievably happy for her. I started out this book not really liking Reah's mates. I don't think any of them will be able to make up for what they have done to her over the years but they certainly tried in this book. I like all of the new mates we were introduced to and I think that each of them complement Reah's personality well. Each of her mates proved that they loved her in their own way and I am shocked to say that I support all of their relationships with her. They still have a ways to go when it comes to getting her to trust them but I definitely think they have taken steps in the right direction. I was shocked when Lissa renounced her mate status with Kifirin and Garde. I feel like Lissa never really stood up to her mates in the Blood Destiny series so I never saw that coming. I think Garde and Kifirin have made a lot of mistakes over the years and they are definitely paying for them now. Garde and Kifirin needed to be punished for their actions. I can't say if Lissa will ever take them back, but I will say that she made the right decision. What else can I say? I love this series. It has many ups and downs. There are also many times that I want to throw some the characters through a brick wall, but I can't stand the thought of ever not reading it. I will be continuing with God Wars. How could I not? I have no doubt in my mind that I will scream and rant just as much in it, but I will love anyways. I can't wait!
I liked this book alot until the end i feel like the ending was rushed and with everything that happened in the end i feel like the book should have ended before it did and one more book was needed for just the last chapter or so . We never got to know some of the mates and is Edward actually Ashe i think so but something was mentioned about a human father and Ashe's was Vampire. And what happened to that whole community if he is? Also with Lissa's books you got to know everyone much better and things were explained i had no questiond about why how and when she became a nameless one. This book left me with more questions than answers at the end and that deffinetly should not be the case in the last book in a series. Like i said one more book was needed to finish this off smoothly but that didnt happen . I know God Wars is the next series but that wont be about Reah and her mates only i dont think if it has anything do do with them at all. I also wonder what happend to Kifferen after Lissa ended things for the time being but i supect that will come in the next series or at least i hope it does
I needed super easy reading so this series was recommended along with the 1st series. They were so-so, but easy to put down and pick up later and took no thought. Turned out to be not my style, it I did keep reading them, though won’t do the next series, vampires is what it started with, then it went to other planets, other creatures and Gods, which was too much for me. Some of the characters were well portrayed but a lot of the women were wimpy even as they showed strong “powers”.
Sleep is so overrated! Yes my eyes are burning from lack of sleep and crying my way through the last two books! Yes i may have had way too much coffee and be in badly need of a shower, but i finished the series!!!! I did it!
I loved the blood series, and sometimes hated it. I adored Ashe in the legend series, and a lot of things broke my heart.
But this series made me so emotional! 25 freaking years of crap and 7 kids (one unborn) lost (not dead)! Shit piled on shit, over and over Again. It was so effin horrible and if it was me i had jumped in the damn volcano on Kifirin!!!
It broke my Heart that Lissa had to suffer too, but i had NADA love left for those idiots! And Tory still isnt in my good books, i suspect Gabron was his real daddy or something! Men are shit but hurray for Edward! (But most of all HURRAY for Connie <3)
The last book in the series put to rest many things and at the same time left me unsatisfied.
Reah was wronged by many of her mates, like Tory and Teeg, but most of them did neglect her against their knowledge. She almost killed herself in the last book and this one being the last was suppose to bring some sort of happy ending to her story. It did just that. But most of the things that made her so depressed she just had to let go. She had no recompense.
Tory should not had been forgiven. He did not deserved. He even compare Reah with Darlinda in bed O_O Teeg never asked for forgiveness. But he did came to the conclusion that he blamed most of went wrong in his life on Reah.
I loved Edward. Best mate ever! He gave Reah a save place.
In this final installment of the High Demon Series Connie Suttle closes out Reah's story. Reah has had a painful past filled with abuse and constant betrayal. The entire book, we're left wondering if being given time and space will be enough to erase all the damage that has been done by Kifirin, her family, and her mates. Reah struggles with how to forgive and forget, when none of the drama happened to anyone but her. On top of that she has raging pregnancy hormones. As usual, Connie spins a story like nobody else and it's so engrossing that all you'll want to do is find out how it ends. Better yet, you want to find out how the God Wars begin. Can't wait.
Wow. Firstly 25 years have passed. Second we start the book with transmissions from Reah and Lissa to Tory with zero response. Reah has had 3 sets of twins now too 2x by Kifirin's hand. They are all girls. We learn a lot about what Kifiriin did and what it then did to Reah. Reah is a mess, and no one seems to notice. She has all these mates and none of them pay attention to her. I just can't believe it. Now they are trying to make up for lost time and I felt like Reah gave into them way too easily. I felt she had a legit reason to be upset. I am really bummed the book is the end to Reah's series. Reah seemed to have a lot more left for her and I wish I got to see her mates finally treating her well. Yea.
A fantastic ending to Reah's story. The thing about Connie's books; the characters don't go away once the series is over. You get to see them in the next series in one way or another. . Connie's books need to be read when you can devote a bunch of time. You will not want to put them down once you start.
Kudos for the editing process, the cover art and most of all to her imagination to create such unforgettable stories to share with us.
More mates!!!! I love this serie!!!! In this final book, Reah relearn to live and love her mates. It is not an easy task, specially with some idiots she got as mates. My God how many times did I want to shake or punch 1 or 2!!!! Haha But the new ones create a balance and are so sweet you still spend a great time readying. And finally, we have a happy ending!!!!!! I was so happy for Reah I had a udge smile on the train haha. Anyway, great author, great serie and great book.
I have read all of Connie Suttle's series and simply cannot get enough. Sadly it looks as though this is last of The High Demon Series, that said though it does wrap everything up nicely and there is a great HEA.
I love all the characters that have appeared in all Connie's series and have heard they will be making appearances in the new series to come; The God Wars.....hooray! *doing happy dance*
Think Connie needs to do a family tree to follow who married who and had children with whom and was born to whom because it was hard at times.
I can't believe Kirifin did so much hurt to Reah just to bring the High Demon world back from the brink of destruction becase of thee promise he made to Jayd.
I am glad she found someone that could rekindle the embers of love in her heart.
This is the final book in this series, and Reah has learned the reason why her mates and everyone else has treated her so badly. And in some ways it has gotten better, but in others it has just gotten worse. Reah may not have as many mates once this is over, and there are several others who will lose their position.
This book was okay, but not as great as previous books in this series. And I was a little sad about how this one ended.
Wow...all I can say is wow!! I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading this book because I just could NOT put it down. You get such an in depth view into Reah's feelings while rooting for her along the way to finally find what she wants...love! If you have yet to pick up a book by Connie Suttle , I encourage you to spend the time to get to know the characters from the start with "Blood Wager"!
A great end to a great series. I was glad to see Reah finally get most of the things she deserved. Her life isn't perfect by any means, but her outlook is certainly better than it has been after the roller coaster ride she went through in these last six books. Can't wait for the God Wars to come!
This is the end and really it boils down to a love/hate relationship. Teen is a jerk and she needs to get rid of him. Tory better step it up or something or she needs to drop him. Edward I'm drooling for also, niferago, auri and the snake shifters are incredible a good support system.
I read these books some years ago. They were brilliant then as they are now. Connie has a brilliant imagination and I have enjoyed every book she has written. If you would like something different read one of her books you'll be hooked for the first page.
This was a wonderful end to this series! Reah still has a bad time and we learn more about her. Great characters with action and lots of different creatures. Loved it!
Loved it as always, but it always rushes in the the end and keeps you wanting for more.... Hopefullly book 7 will come soon.... I'm sorry to admit it but I´m addicted....
Although the first book of the series was awesome and I believe I rated it higher, this book is my favorite as she is much less of a victim and finally getting what has long been owed.
Connie Suttle is without a doubt in my top five favorite authors. I enjoyed the Blood Destiny series but this High Demon series is even better. I am looking forward to reading The God Wars series.
What an awesome series. This series is related to the "Blood" series. So start with that one. But highly recommended! Can't wait to start the next one.
