Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.) are five ordinary friends with an extraordinary secret: they each have the power to control a natural element-air, water, fire, earth, and finally, the mysterious "Heart of Candracar." The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds. Between school, family, and a new interest in boys, these girls had enough to worry about! But now they have the secret to turn into a group of friends with special powers . . . destined to fight the evil Prince Phobos in the magic world of Metamoor. W.i.t.c.h. combines fashion and fantasy, magic and middle school, heroism and humor, friendship and family, teamwork and transformation, in a wholesome mix proven to charm the tween girl market. Introducing a hybrid format that combines four-color comics with a traditional chapter book format.
IT IS FABULOUS.I AM A REALLY BIG FAN OF THESE NOVELS.I AM COLLECTING A COLLECTION OF THESE NOVELS .THANKS TO THIS WEBSITE I WAS ABLE TO READ IT.I COULD NOT FIND ANY OF THESE IN THE SHOP
Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.
So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?
Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.
Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!
I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.
Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.
Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin.... Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)
This was an interesting tale for will and her dormouse. They went on an adventure into Metamoor and learned just how evil Phobos is. It was interesting to see how uncommunicative Will and her Mother are. This was an interesting tale of how different the relationships between the Guardians and their parents are. It was a great re-read and very enjoyable.
Out Of The Dark (W.I.T.C.H) PLOT While I.T.C (that is Irma, Tarnee, and Cornelia) minus (Hay-Lin and Will) are enjoying a concert for hot pop star (Karmella), Phoboe's sits on his throne plotting on how just being the ruler of Meridian isn't enough. He confides his scheme to Cedric how because of their hatred for him, he will run the people of Meridian out in masses. Thus weakening the Veil (the barrier between worlds). Elyon in another part of the castle is thoroughly confused about who to believe. Should he believe the rebel Caleb (who encourages her to fight for her people) or out of loyalty (and lies) her brother who has promised to give her the throne of Meridian? So she turns to the people she trusted most her adopted (alien) parents. Who are locked away in a Meridian fortress. Hay-Lin alerts Will to a portal opening and she comes in contact with Raven leading the Meridians to freedom. When her Door mouse escapes she finds herself in a field of black roses and meets a gardener who tells her a very sad tale. She barely defeats Cedric (with the help of the Door mouse) before making it through the portal where she faces off with him again. This time with the help of her sisters.
MY THOUGHTS: *So happy to find this book because there is a site that has scans of the WITCH chapter books and it stopped on this one, as if the person after some years lost interest, got lazy, or too busy. *I can definitely respect Cornelia's view of how even when people turn dark that you shouldn't give up on them. But I'm a little confused because in the last book I seem to remember reading I thought she'd broken out of Phoebus's haze and worked with the Guardians to restore the light. Thus proving herself to the Guardians and herself innocent. However in this book, Meridian is worse than it's ever been and Phoebus has drained all the light of it and taken it into himself. *I think Phoebus is the worst of humankind. That part of people that crave money, power, and position and don't care who they destroy (physically or emotionally) to get it. The part of people that are never satisfied and the greed in them keeps wanting more. And might I just say off the record I HATE long braids on MEN! What's that all about these days that in some pictures you can't tell a man from a female because their hair is so long? Just horrible! *I'm over Will's attitude with her mom. I hate in books were the kid gets pissy and mad at the parent because they've decided to date someone else other than the other parent. Being a divorced kid myself I never did this. Was I sad my parents broke up? Yes. But now that I'm older I see that parents are people. No, I'm not a parent but life doesn't stop because it didn't work out with the person you were married too. Initially, I felt sorry for Will with all the changes, but 8 books later and ain't no telling how much time is passed I'm thinking GET OVER IT! *I would LOVE to see Hay-Lin's room. Why isn't there a picture of that? *Karmilia equals Beyoncé in WITCH world. *Solution. Will AND her mom should go to the concert TOGETHER. Will gets her wish. Her mother gets to spend time with her. Even though she probably isn't into Karmilia. It's a compromise!
RATING: 7 I felt bad for the Gardner. I also felt bad for the people that have to suffer under the rule of Phoebus and I hope this series ends with either the resurrection of their land or having them brought to a new land where they can live in harmony. I wish Elyon wouldn't be so blind as to the lies she's being fed but I will say this. Sometimes a liar can be so charming and so convincing that you will (without knowing it) go right along with what they're feeding you. Despite what the people that love you tell you. As you can see with the illustration of the black roses, just because something (or someone) appears to be beautiful on closer look they can turn out to be TOXIC!
I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.
I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.
