There was a girl she had a birthday party. But something went wrong. Her
mom was friends with two girls, there names are, Kirsty and Rachel. They
were on there way to figure out what
was wrong.Rachel saw her friend he
came back from the skating park with
his friends. He said that there was
supposed to be a birthday party.

Then a fairy with a beautiful purple dress and gold slippers showed up. She
had heard all that was happening and so
she decided to ask Rachel and Kirsty for there help. Belle told them that there was
one way to make things go smoothly.
Belle went on and said there is three birthday charms they are,the birthday book, the birthday candle, and the birthday present. She had told them one more thing
and that was, Jack Frost has the birthday book. As the story goes on they travel.
How are they going to find, all the birthday charms?....

When I first read this book I thought it was amazing. Daisy Meadows is a great writer I think that she should write more birthday books. She has a strong lead, strengths, weaknesses, and a nice hook
also lots of ideas. Especially a great imagination and creative characters.

I like that they have adventures but the whole story is not as exciting as when they find the missing item.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

We've read a lot of these books, and sometimes they come off as formulaic. This one breaks that formula almost from start to finish. Yes, it's a special edition, which means that you can expect goblin trouble and three missing objects that the girls need to find. Beyond that, however, it's quite original. I don't want to spoil too much, but the goblins (and even Jack Frost) are quite different in this one. This led to a few really funny moments, which are enhanced by the illustrations. Even just reflecting on the plot had my child laughing. Some parents may want to know that the third part of the book includes the word "idiot" and two or three "shut up"s. Overall, one of my favourites in the Rainbow Magic series.

My six-year-old just adores the Rainbow Magic fairy books. I love these special edition books that focus on one fairy character and usually include three stories in one. My daughter got this book for her birthday and we spent quite a few days reading a chapter or two at a time. In typical fairy fashion, Jack Frost is causing havoc for the fairies and it is up to Rachel and Kirsty to return the magic items and set things back in order. The appeal of this story is that Jack Frost doesn't want anyone to know when his birthday is, but the goblins are planning a surprise party in his honor. It's a cute story that fits perfectly in the series.

Miss 3 seems to be enjoying these so we're working our way through them. This one has a birthday party to save in both the human world and fairy world.

Miss 3 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

My seven year old likes the predictability of these stories, but even she was a bit put out at how stupid some of this book was. The idea of the goblins planning a surprise party for Jack Frost was quite nice, but the magic items quest was really badly done.

this one is like 4 books in one, so it is actually better than the others because it has the plot set up as well as the quest rather than breaking those up. I liked that they finally get along with the goblins at the end and that the goblins had mostly good intentions in this book.
