Delightful book to use during Advent. Broken into 24 days of readings.
If it connects to Christmas, it's written somewhere in this book.
The index offers cross references to locate particular writings, recipes and fun facts.

If you celebrate Christmas, you'll love this book. It really is "everything" Christmas. Each chapter represents one day in December. The last chapter is December 24th, which ends with a post-Christmas prayer. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful collection of interesting facts, stories, recipes, crafts, gamses, and traditions from all over the world.
I love Christmas, and will refer to Everything Christmas over and over again. It is a book I will share with my family for years to come.

I really enjoyed reading this book over the Christmas season. There was a little bit to read for every day leading up to the 25th which included stories, poems, Bible passages, Christmas carols (and their history), jokes, trivia, recipes and more. I especially enjoyed the sections that told how Christmas is celebrated in various countries around the world. I'm only giving it 3 stars as there were sections that were a bit sappy but overall, it was a fun and light read for Christmastime.

This is a pleasant idea to have different days of December with a Christmas story, carols, traditions, recipes and trivia for each day. If I had a family I might enjoy going through this one year, so I'll keep that in mind. Just not as exciting to read through like a regular book, which is how I read it.

Forget e-books when it comes to this book! E-books have a time and a place for certain books, and this, by far, is not one of them. This book is SO beautiful! It is worth having physically, “IN” your library, to look at and see. This beautiful book is a keeper-book. It requires having the ‘real thing'. This hardcover’s dustcover alone is beautiful, and without it, the book is still a gorgeous light beige color, with the title and publisher’s name embossed in silver along the side. You can even use this book as a beautiful “coffee table book” around the holidays, but don’t plan on it being there if there are more than one of you who live in your home because it will get swiped off the table and you will find someone reading this book! This book is a wonderful collection of ‘Everything Christmas’, literally. There are poems, Christmas Carols, to Christmas stories, stories of Christmas from around the world, as well as recipes and more! This book “IS” Everything Christmas! It is a beautiful book starting right from the dust-cover, inside cover, every page and the content of the entire book. There is nothing in this book I did not like. I LOVE it ALL! This is a book I am proud and happy to own and will display it, and read it every holiday season.

"It's all here" is the perfect description for Everything Christmas. Starting on December 1 you will have readings, recipes, crafts, and more to entertain and enlighten your family from grandparents down to grandchildren. But don't worry - it will be perfect even if you start on December 5! The book itself is gorgeous! The subtle colors on the heavy weight pages make this book feel much more decadent than the price suggests. It is a beautiful gift book ready for a place in your holiday traditions. I thoroughly enjoy the mix of information: traditions explained, trivia and historical facts, carols and quotations shared for daily enjoyment, stories to expand on the meaning of the season, recipes to fill your belly, and more. You'll come across the significant and the entertaining as you read through the chapters daily. My mind is running wild with ideas on how this book will play a role in the coming month. (The crafty side of me wants to use several quotes on Christmas cards and in holiday letters!) Though quoted scripture doesn't appear in each chapter it does appear heavily, and it is very clear that as the saying goes, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." I appreciate this in today's society of materialism. For example, December 9 does not include a scripture reading but it does highlight a writing from Martin Luther, information on Advent traditions, Silent Night, and more. Everything Christmas is a treasure!

This is far more than just another craft book or recipe book. This is an Advent book. Every day there’s a new recipe, devotion, story, letter, craft or something that you can share with your family and friends. Everything from Christmas dinners in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Denmark (as well as a variety of other locations) to the history behind some favorite Christmas hymns. This book has everything that you could possibly need to make your holiday better and perhaps even add some new traditions.
I loved reading through Everything Christmas (even though it was early November when I did) and I will definitely have this sitting out on my coffee table during the holidays. I love that it will give my family some quiet time each day and that there are things in the book that we will be able to work through together. I recommend this as an early Christmas gift so grab a copy of Everything Christmas today and share it with someone before the holidays so they can enjoy it throughout the whole season!

I won this book on Goodreads 1st reads and so glad I did. This book is small but don't let that fool you. There is so much packed into this book. I will get this book out every year in Dec. The title is "Everything Christmas" and it truly is everything Christmas. It's wonderful to read how Christmas actually got started, the history of the stocking, history of the Nativity, Santa's reindeer, and so much more. There are song's included, recipes, Christmas quotes, trivia, poems, Christmas crafts, and they have wonderful stories in the book. You can read a chapter for each advent day of Dec., from Dec. 1st through Dec. 24th. I'm going to introduce this book to my Inspirational book group. We meet once a week, so we can discuss 7 days of the advents each week. This book would be great to leave out so guests can browse through it. I love this book! Thanks so much for the opportunity to read this.

This is a lovely little book about Christmas. It's filled with recipes, thoughts and stories. There are historical tidbits about Christmas and Christmas traditions. The book corresponds to the days of the Advent with 24 days' worth of reading.
I was distracted by some editing/proofreading errors which are annoying and unacceptable. I noticed several simply from reading the book and I wasn't reading to edit. The most glaring error was on page 33 in an excerpt from Princess Victoria's Diary, dated Christmas Eve, 1932. Given that Victoria became Queen of England in 1837, this is a careless error, whether it be a typo or a clear mistake. The Christmas Eve in question occurred in 1832, a fact easily verified online. Unfortunately, errors like this one make me question dates and facts, and there are lot of dates and facts in this little book.
Still it is a charming addition to any Christmas library, especially for someone who collects or enjoys Christmas books.

"Everything Christmas" is a wonderful hardbound book just packed with ideas and facts about Christmas. The pages are white with red and green print and graphics giving the book a lovely Christmas "feel".
Based on the advent calendar, the sections are the 24 days before Christmas, and each focuses on a different country and how Christmas is celebrated there. Each section contains a story, recipes, facts, carols, and so much more! I had a wonderful time going through this book and the recipes (Christmas Wassil, Gingersnaps and Christmas Breakfast Casserole) I tried were delicious. There are a number that I still want to try this holiday season.
This is a fantastic book to add to your Christmas collection. It is one that will be used year after year and one the whole family will enjoy.

I love this book! The title is perfect because it does in fact, have everything! There are lots of books out there for advent, but this one tops them all. This beautiful hardcover book will take you through the advent season with, stories, poems, crafts, gift ideas, trivia, Christmas songs, recipes, amazing Christmas facts and lots of information on how Christmas is celebrated around the world, and of course there is scripture for meditating as well.
Each day is jam-packed with items to get you in the Christmas spirit. I am so enthralled with this book that I am already in the Christmas spirit! This is a wonderful gift book, but once you see it, you will not want to give it away. Better buy two - one for a gift and one for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. This is not a true advent book...come on book makers, just add a few extra days...but it is SO WORTH it on December 1.
This is pretty unlike anything I've read before for Advent. It has awesome stories, hymns/songs and the history behind them, Christmas around the world, recipes (thank you for reminding me of haystacks...and the wonderfully sweet lady who halved her package of chow mein noodles her daughter brought her from the US), decoration tips, jokes. You name it! SO FUN.
Not a person in the house didnt enjoy this book. I highly recommend it.
It is Christian in nature, which is what I look for. But an amalgam of different things each day. It beautifully ended with the Christ story.
This is our new Advent book for years to come.

I was a bit uncertain about this book when I won a copy from Goodreads.com, but am now very glad I had the opportunity to read it. I enjoyed many of the stories, poems, and jokes found in its pages. My husband and I were inspired by the recipes and plan on trying some for the upcoming holidays. Everything Christmas is the perfect book to put you in the holiday mood.

This book is set up like an advent book. Each day from December 1-24th contains a reading such as a poem or Christmas carol, a story, some recipes, some quizzes, and a historical article about Christmas such as how a certain country usually celebrates it or a biblical story. Each day is approximately 20 pages and there is an extensive index in the back so if you want a search for a specific idea for gifts or decorations or the exact words to a carol, it is easily found. An excellent little book to refer to for ideas or to read stories and put one in the Christmas mood.

Everything Christmas is a small, thick book divided into twenty-four daily readings. These include uplifting Christmas stories, both fictional and true, yummy recipes, fun holiday crafts, quotes, jokes, and Bible verses, poems and carols, gift-giving ideas, Christmas trivia and history, descriptions of Christmas dinners enjoyed around the world, and much more. A comprehensive topical index at the back of the book is handy for quick reference.

This book is a very pleasant read, especially for the holiday season. Set into 24 chapters, it can be read as an advent calendar. It contains stories, song lyrics, recipes, interesting facts and a few corny jokes - all pertaining to the Christmas season. What a relaxing way to spend a few minutes each day!

This is a cute little Christmas handbook. Looking for a nice story for the Christmas occasion? The words for a Christmas carol you can't quite remember? The recipe for "Figgy Pudding?" "Everything Christmas" is a good resource for those Christmas questions.
