I gave this book four stars not because it is lesser-than, but because, although a fantastic reference, Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia is everything you'll ever need.

Again, this one's great, but at the very least, novice wine knowledge is necessary in order to utilize this one.

one of the best wine reference books i've read. there is an addendum w/notes on how to hold a wine tasting, various glass sizes, regions(california is out of date of course, we add new wine areas every two weeks) etc.
