Gabrielle Craig Lord is an Australian writer who has been described as Australia's first lady of crime.

She survived being ‘razed’ by the nuns, acquired an education despite this, and after working in many different areas, sales, teaching, brick-cleaning, peach-picking and packing, and in the Public Service as an employment officer, started writing seriously aged 30.

Her first two manuscripts ended up composting the tomatoes at her market garden – another attempt to make a living – but the third one FORTRESS was picked up internationally and made into a feature film starring Rachel Ward. A later novel WHIPPING BOY was made into a telemovie starring Sigrid Thornton. The film rights money, coinciding with her daughter leaving school, allowed Gabrielle to resign and instead of getting up at 4.30am and writing for several hours before heading off for work, she could write full-time and lead a more ‘normal’ writer’s life – hanging around with scientists and detectives, badgering forensic anthropologists (she studied some Anatomy at Sydney university) and doing work experience with a busy private security business and of course, writing.

Research is everything, she says. ‘Out of my contacts with experts (who are always far too modest to describe themselves that way) I get not only the fine-tuning necessary for today’s savvy readers, but also wonderful incidents and images that enrich and enlarge my books.’

Gabrielle’s interests are very simple. ‘After a misspent youth, I don’t have many brain cells left so I enjoy walking, meditation, singing, gardening, chatting with close friends, being with my family and grandkids, feeding my goldfish and keeping up to date with bodywork and enlightened psychotherapy.’

Gabrielle has now written fourteen adult novels and a novel for young adults. Once the 12 books of Conspiracy 365 are completed, this tally will be a tad bigger! Following this mammoth endeavour she already has plans for another three adult novels and two more YAs.

Even better than the 3rd! Each book has gotten better so far. I thought, with 12 books, the plot might become uninteresting, but I'm excited to keep reading. There is always something different happening and a new piece of information to learn. Not a predictable book overall. So, yeah, a fun read!

I wasn't entirely sure who Lord was aiming the book as. There were some sentences that I felt were kind of childish, but then there were sentences with words such as "helluva" or "crap" or just "hell" so I would have given it a higher rating if she knew who her audience was.

This book is about a boy called Callum trying to track down and work out what the Ormond Singularity is. My favourite of the story is at the end when everyone like Rafe Ormond, Eric Blair, Nelson Sharkey and Winter, Cal, and Boges are all double crossing each other. My favourite character is Callum because he shows that even though you are a teen fugitive, being chased by everyone from major criminals, ex-detectives, police and his own family, while his friends are the only people he can trust.

When all things prove to fail, it can always be worse.

Conspiracy 365: April is another chapter in the life of Cal Ormond who is on the run for something he didn't do. As the riddle unfolds, Cal realizes that he barely knows anything about his family history. With the help of his best friend, Boges, and a mysterious girl, Winter, Cal begins to make a little headway into solving this puzzle. Now, if only he could figure out who the guy is that looks exactly like him.

There are a few new characters in this book. I liked the older woman, Mrs. Melba Snipe, that gave Cal a helping hand in this book. I'm sure we will meet her more later, as Cal is living in her friend's boathouse. Griff Kirby was another interesting addition to the cast. After their initial misunderstanding, the two boys get along very well.

I still don't know if I am supposed to trust Winter. Boges doesn't trust her any further than he could throw her. She seems to want to help, but Sligo always seems to be close by whenever she visits Cal. And there is no way Cal wants to see Sligo again.

Cal's mother is driving me crazy. I have wondered how she could ever accuse Cal of hurting his sister and his uncle. But now I understand that maybe is was this mysterious twin that Cal keeps running into. Who is this guy? Why does he look just like Cal? Is he a twin brother that was separated from Cal at birth? So many questions . . . so few answers.

Once again, Gabrielle Lord spins a web of mystery and intrigue as Cal stumbles through April. It is his fourth month on the run and things do not seem to be getting any easier for him. The pace of the story is quick and the dialog flows beautifully. The action scenes always put me on the edge of my seat as I witness Cal scrambling for his life. Each book ends in a cliffhanger, which absolutely kills me. I am glad that the next book is only a month away. Each book in this series is released every month for the duration of one year.

Overall, Conspiracy 365: April is another wonderful action-packed story. I really love this storyline and always look forward to the next book. I cannot wait to see how Cal gets out of the mess he finds himself in at the end of the book. I guess I will just have to wait patiently for Conspiracy 365: May. Man, is it ever hard to wait!

I rated this book an 8 out of 10.

Another great book in this series! There are so many twists and turns. The unexpected is always happening, and I never know where the plot is going to go! Cal continues to drive the story forward with his great character. His resolve to help his family, his despair in tough circumstances, and his basic humanity are all so believable and compelling.

I loved that in this book we meet some new characters who are never quite who you think they are. They sort of pop into the story, and we are left to wonder, Do we trust this person? And then the story develops around them, Cal learns to trust them or hate them or whatever happens, and we have this new delightful person involved in the story!

The action is non-stop, and the mystery surrounding the Ormond Riddle continues to perplex me with every new discovery. We finally see the Riddle in this book, and it's such a delicious enigma. The suspense is killing me and I can't wait to solve this mystery.

More wonderful interactions between Boges and Winter. They bicker bicker bicker all the time, but I think, if they would just trust each other, they could be good friends.

Loving this series, and I am devastated by the cliffhanger. I need that next book!

This book is really good it's like an adventure, a riddle, and it leaves you in suspense at some parts!!:) The boy is 15 yeaars old and he is on the run. Callum is facing many problems on his journey. Cal is lost trying to find his uncle's house to help him solve the Ormond Riddle. On top of that his sister is about to die in the hospital! He's going to cut his journey short to go see her but will he get caught? I'm looking forward to reading the other Conspiracy 365 books!

This book was awesome! An eye catching and thrilling book! I am reading more of this author's books. The best part about this book is that he's is committed to finding out about the Ormond Riddle to see what family secret his dad was talking about.

Conspiracy 365 April Book Review
My book is Conspiracy 365 written by Gabrielle Lord. The Lexile level of my book is 820. In my book the main character is forced into a difficult situation while being a wanted criminal, and on his way of his sticky situation he meets a couple of people. Some of the people he meets he doesn’t know that he can trust and he thinks that all of this is just a really big mistake and that the people that are after him are making a really big mistake.

In my book the main character Calum Ormond demonstrates how you should never give up, not by saying that himself, but by pursuing through all of the obstacles that are thrown at him throughout his journey and demonstrating how to never give up. Cal at the start of the book is very conflicted because he is just kind of having mini goals to try and achieve throughout the book. Cal has matured a lot in this book compared from the other books I have read, because he has learned a lot of valuable things and those things help him with the main goal of solving the ormond riddle. Even though Cal has to escape the criminals and the police, he still persists to help people because that is the kind of person he is. Cal has really developed from the last couple books.

I really think that this is a good book because of all the untold parts of it. I think that this is a good thing because of thing because it never gets old, because just as things are calming down, they seem to get exciting again. I like this book because of how unpredictable it is, unlike the other books. In this book, I can never seem to guess what is going to happen next and by doing that it makes it kind of mysterious and I like that a lot. For me the book was pretty easy to read because it was only about 150 pages and they did not cram all the words they could on each page. I also think it was easy for me to read because I understood what was going on, for example if I had not read the first books of the series I would have been confused completely. I liked the ending but at the same time I didn’t like it because it always ends at a cliffhanger where all odds are against him. That is the same reason why I like it because Gabrielle Lord is smart for that because it makes the readers want to keep reading the next books in the series. I think that this was a really good book and I liked reading it a lot.

Some unavoidable spoilers for January, February and March may be contained in this review.

April was completely boring, dull and just terrible, to be frank. I had to stifle yawns for almost the entire course of the book.

I really couldn't get into this one; next to nothing was added or resolved about the mystery which is suppose to be the centre point of this series. Yes, they found the riddle but not much was done to try and decode it. Get a move on, Cal! What did happen was so unbelievable that it didn't really help. Cal would have been caught so many times by now in real life. As readers, we know that he can do whatever the hell he pleases because his trusty writer will be there to miraculously save him - and that is taking away all of the urgency in the series.

I didn't enjoy this book. I wouldn't recommend it. I don't know if I even want to read May. What the heck was that ending anyway? I don't know if I really care what happens to Cal. I just want them to solve the mystery of the Ormonds quickly and be done with it.

NO!! You CAN'T take Gabbi off life support!
Mom is being unecessarily cruel...maybe brainwashed by Rafe?
At least there are truly nice people throughout who help him.

YAY!! Gabbi's going to be okay! At least now Cal is thinking about what his mom said and asking more questions.
Wouldn't she know if she had twins? Maybe the double is a clone...maybe the Singularity involves genetic testing?
Winter just needs to tell the truth regardless of Cal's trust. She's annoying me now.
SOMEBODY needs to find out who is the media is spreading all the lies about Cal! What about THAT source?!
How is he going to break out of a mental institution? I hope Cal and the double will meet up soon. I want to hear that convo.

Cal is trying to get to his great uncle’s house to find out more about his family when he has to run away from people who will probably kill him. When he gets to his great uncle he does get info but their time together is cut short when Oriana comes and sets fire to Barthalemew’s house. Cal has to take the Orca to escape just in time. Of course when he lands at a town the investigators frame him for everything.
The chase goes on in this book and Cal has to run and fight for his life.
Amazing book over all

I found April the most nail-biting action-packed book so far. It was so interesting, and the amount of thrilling events there were in April, I just found that amazing. Right at the cliffhanger at the end, I just felt so annoyed that I had to wait until libraries opened again, so I could go and read May. 5 / 5 would definitely read it if I were anyone seeing this.

Small Spoiler: A great book, I read this in only 2 days I was that hooked. The series is far from over in this thrilling 4th book of the amazing series. Im not going to add spoilers, but I can say something big happened that you would NOT want to miss. Callum Ormond, appears to be trapped and escape seems almost impossible.
Must read series and great book.

These books. Each one is more ludicrous and far-fetched than the last, but here I am reading them. And I am sure I will keep on going. Now I feel like I have to see it through to the end. I blame my husband! I read books 1-3 years ago, but never finished, and he started reading them so here we go.

Never a day goes by without Cal facing capture or worse. It's becoming a little repetitive but it certainly keeps the pages turning. He either has the worst luck that he is always in danger or the best as he manages to avoid capture.
As a book for young adults this one definitely hits the mark.

Yet another thrilling installment in the Conspiracy 365 series! These are very short reads, taking me only about a day or two to finish, but are still as good as similar (longer) books. I love all the action and I'm hoping and praying Cal will make it the whole year!
