"was born in New Orleans, LA, in 1961. New Orleans is one of the most interesting American cities, and it has an incredibly rich and exotic culture that had a profound influence on me. Kids in other cities have lemonade stands; we sold voodoo gris-gris and made wax dolls in the likenesses of our enemies. It's a very beautiful city, and the constant heat and humidity make gardens grow out of control. There's an air of lassitude there, a general acceptance of eccentic or flamboyant behavior--the heat simply makes people do crazy things.

I went to school in New York, and after school went back to New Orleans. Then I went back to New York (Manhattan) and got a job in publishing and started writing. My first book, a young, middle-grade chapter book, was published in 1990.

Living in Manhattan was incredible, even though I didn't have a lot of money. There was so much to do and see, and so many interesting people to watch. There was a lot of frenetic energy there, and sometimes that felt very wearing and hard to live with. After eight years I was ready for a change, and my husband and I moved back to New Orleans. (Are you seeing a pattern here?)

(While I was in NY, I helped edit "The Secret Circle" by L.J. Smith. I thought it was great.)

We stayed in New Orleans five years. By the time we had two small children we knew we had to find someplace safer to live. I was glad my children were born in New Orleans--I had been born there, and my father had, and his father had, and his father had and so on. There was something about the connection of generations of blood coming from one place that I found very primal and important.

Now I live in a cohousing community in Durham, NC. This is the most suburban place I've ever lived, and it's very different from living right in the middle of a city. For one thing, there aren't enough coffee shops. However, it's incredibly safe, and the community is very important to me. There are a lot of strong women here, and I find them inspiring.

Am I a witch? Well, no. Even Wicca is too organized a religion for me. I'm much more idiosyncratic and just need to do my own thing, which is kind of new-agey and pantheistic. It's not that I don't work or play well with others, but I need to decide for myself when I do a certain thing, and how I do it. However, I can really relate to Wicca, and I so appreciate its woman-centeredness and its essentially female identity. I love those aspects, among others.

I have several favorite writers. Barbara Hambly has been the biggest influence on how I describe magic. She's an incredibly imaginative and empathetic writer with a gift for creating a rich, sensual world. I love Barbara Pym, an English writer whose books came out mostly in the fifties. She was a master at describing the thousand tiny moments that make up a woman's day; how the seemingly small and inconsequential thing can suddenly take on a huge emotional importance. I greatly admire P.D. James. She's one of the very few writers who makes me actually look up words in the dictionary. She has a beautiful, precise, educated command of the language that leaves me in awe. I love Philip Larkin's poetry. I read a lot of nonfiction and also have some favorite romance writers. Before anyone groans, let me say that these women write really well about women trying to achieve emotional fulfillment, and that's kind of what we're all doing, right? I also just like reading about sex. Anyway, Jennifer Crusie, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and early Linda Howard are my faves.

And then of course there's my dark side, but more on that later.

SWEEP II: Power. Destiney. Betrayal.

Book Four: Dark Magick
The end of book three was intense and bewildering. Obviously, Cal controls Morgan, it's not a real love, I think that's why Hunter and Sky sigils her house so maybe she can see. I can't believe that Cal and Morgan might have killed Hunter, I suspect that he might be Morgan's soulmate! So Hunter thankfully isn't dead, Morgan is so happy and relieved she didn't kill him, unlike Cal who wishes they did. Morgan start seeing things in Cal she didn't like, when her tries to sleep with her, she can't do it, she keeps feeling something is wrong especially after her 17th birthday and she almost killed Hunter. Her friends in Practical Magick, David and Alyce warn her to be careful and to ask for help. Morgan and Hunter share a mind connection and they both discover many things about each other, than she does it with Sky, the scry on Cal and Selen as well and Morgan discovers many horrible things.

Book Five: Awakening
So Cal and Selen finally revealed who they were, what their intentions were and almost kill Morgan like they did her parents in fire. Selen obviously killed Maeve and stole her book of shadows, she must be the Dark Wave that attacks witches and kills them. Hunter saves Morgan with Sky, Bree and Robbie, her car Das Boot is destroyed (almost) and her heart is broken, especially after she discovers that her Cal's gifts where spelled with dark magick to control her and make her believe she loves him.

Book Six: Spellbound
The last book was intense! Morgan is mourning her love and relationship with Cal, who tried to burn her alive. She is starting to fear magic especially when she feels darkness looming. Practical Magick, her favorite shop is in danger of closing, and one of the blood witches owners, David, has been using dark magic to prevent that. She witnesses his trail and stripping of magical powers and it scares her, especially that who performs the penalty is none other than Huner the Seeker, who is now the leader of their circle and her teacher. But it seems Hunter is falling for Morgan so fast, I don't think she will catch him.

A great follow up to volume one, I think I enjoyed this one even more.

The Characters: I love the characters in these books Morgan, Bree, Hunter, Cal, Skye and all the other minor characters as well. They're intriguing, their actions have depth and motivation--something I always appreciate. They have complete and well thought out histories that play a vital role in the plot. Morgan's journey to discover her true heritage is faciniating and seems genuine.

The Magick: The magic in these books are based (loosely?) on the Wiccan tradition, which grounds it a bit in reality and gives it credibility. It's beautiful and nature based. I did feel that Tiernan could have done even more with it though.

The Romance: Another love triangle. Ugh. Not a fan. But both boys (Cal and Hunter) have good and bad things going for them. They both have dark and light sides.

The Structure: The way the book was structured the reader gains insight to the Wiccan world of magick through Book of Shadow entries at the beginning of each chapter.

Overall: A great book (I LOVE witches) and I'm really looking forward to the next volume!

This was delightful garbage. For which I am trash for. Let me jump in and throw on the lid. :)

Reasons to read this series
- Paranormal romance at it's 2001 finest.
- Magick
- Cheesy but fun to read characters and dialogue
- magickal history that's interesting

I will say, I took off a star because the ending of 2 of the books felt very rushed. Like we were building up to these moments and then quick fight and BAM! over. If I'd have blinked I'd have missed it. Just saying. Which sucked because the rest of the pacing was good and the story just flowed. But those endings were way too rushed.

Overall 4 stars

*2.5

Note: I’m reading this series in its original single installments, but I’m reviewing the bindups because there simply isn’t enough content in each tiny book to review them all individually!

The action definitely picks up in this volume, but there is also a lot of “We need to talk” without any actual communication happening. However, the constant recapping due to the original short installments is getting tiring. I liked the diary and BOS entries at the beginning of each chapter when they were only a few sentences. I think it’s a cool idea, but the fonts are getting harder to read now. Some of them physically hurt my eyes when it’s a solid two pages, so I just skim them.

The characters are super inconsistent. The author writes dialogue based on what would be clever or sexy in the moment, not based on how the characters would actually respond. The plot is also inconsistent, with contradictions both between books and even between pages. Some inconsistencies are as small as “Matt wasn’t there” only for him to have a line of dialogue on the next page, but some are actually pretty important plot points or setting descriptions.

**SERIES REVIEW - Reviews don't differ between each book**

The Sweep series follows the story of Morgan Rowlands, a teenage girl who discovers her witch heritage and learns how to use her powers while navigating the challenges of love, friendship, and family. The series I have read is the omnibus style, with three of the original 15 book "Wicca" series books that have been made into 5 longer books.

The series begins with "Book of Shadows," where we are introduced to Morgan, a high school student who leads a fairly ordinary life until she meets Cal Blaire, a handsome and mysterious new student who awakens her magical abilities. As Morgan delves deeper into the world of witchcraft, she becomes entangled in a dangerous love triangle between Cal and Hunter Niall, an International Council of Witches Seeker sent to investigate Cal and his mother for misuse of magic. It follows all the way through two years of Morgan's life and her discovery of heritage and friendship, ending the series with a happily ever after. An added bonus to the series is the "standalone" Wicca Book - Night's Child, which is centered around Morgan's daughter decades later.

Throughout the series, Tiernan masterfully weaves together themes of love, betrayal, loyalty, and self-discovery. Morgan's journey is compelling and at times, relatable, as she struggles to balance her responsibilities as a witch with her desire for a normal life. The supporting characters, including Morgan's best friend Bree, her coven, and her love interests Cal and Hunter, are fully fleshed out and add depth to the story.

Tiernan's writing style is engaging and immersive, with vivid descriptions of magic and the natural world. The pacing of the series is well-balanced, with moments of intense action and suspense alternating with quieter moments of introspection and character development.

Overall, Sweep is a captivating series that will appeal to fans of young adult fantasy and romance. Tiernan's skillful storytelling, richly-drawn characters, and evocative setting will keep readers engaged from start to finish. Perfect for teen readers, as younger readers may not understand the heavier life challenges facing Morgan. This series has always been one of my comfort reads, having read all of them since their release in 2001 when I was a sweet little teenager - I used to lock myself away and read them one after another over the course of a few days, having them permanently borrowed by borrowing and returning then borrowing again from my local library. Eventually, as an adult I was able to purchase the 5 book copies and still read them now in my 30's.

This book was just as good, and maybe even better, than the first volume. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has classic, almost typical themes, twisted in with ones so different from anything I have read that it makes it seem brand new. It was a great book!

Morgan Rowlands, blood witch, teenager, good friend. All the above describe Morgan but in this book she kind of realizes each one of those character traits out a little bit more. She is one of the most powerful witches people have seen in a long while but she is not initiated so she cannot control her powers. She realizes that she is confused about her hatred for Hunter and might even realize that Cal (her gorgeous bf) is evil and may want something more from her then just her love. Also, Bree and she have been best friends forever but they are enemies up until the point where Bree realizes that even though Cal tore the two girls apart she cannot let Morgan die.
After Cal tries to kill her Morgan distances herself from everything he influenced in her life. She realized that the presents her gave her are all spelled and therefore causes her to get closer to Hunter just to figure out her powers. But Hunter is better for more than just spells. Things heat up between the two characters but Morgan still finds herself thinking about Cal.
It makes you just want to slap her that she is daydreaming about Cal, when he tried to kill her and she has beautiful Hunter there falling in love with her. But Cal is her guilty pleasure and you can tell that he is not done with her. Upon returning Morgan sees him and he tries to convince her to come back to him. But she has fallen in love with Hunter and is willing to let Cal go, but she has to make sure that they do not hurt one another.
The final battle in the book could have gone on a little longer and had more detail. Sometimes I felt as if Morgan was just standing there dumbfounded as Selene threw spell after spell at her. I do not understand why exactly Cal would jump in front of one of his mothers spells to protect Morgan even though he manipulated her, lied to her, and tried to kill her. He claims that he loves her but something is not right. His mother then dies miraculously and Hunter and Morgan bail without knowing for sure how she died. To me this is a set up that their battle with Selene is not over.
I do like this series and I enjoy watching Morgan come into her powers and realize her true love. But there are parts that I just want to scream at her vulnerability and naive qualities. But as the series progresses I hope she does too.

I love Cate Tiernan's book because they're the perfect relaxing read. Her stories always have colorful characters in them that you can't help but love. But what I've really come to love about Tiernan's books is that nothing is as it seems at first. People you think are bad turn out to have a dose of good in them and good people are quite capable of evil things themselves. So whenever something bad happens, I can never guess who's behind it and I can always count on the author surprising me in the end. And another thing about Tiernan’s books is that they have killer cliff-hangers. Thankfully her books are now published as bind-ups. Otherwise the endings would have killed me.

After reading this second volume of Wicca books I wanted to tell Morgan “I told you so!”. I saw the betrayal coming from miles away. I never trusted that person, not even in the beginning of the series. He was just too smooth and Always saying the right thing. He was just too perfect and something felt off about him. But I am proud of Morgan that it didn’t take her too long to realize something wasn’t right.

I love how the romance developed in this bind-up. It turned out just the way I wished it would. Hunter and Morgan are inexplicably drawn to each other and you can feel the chemistry between them. I just hope Morgan will get over Cal soon and let herself be with Hunter freely. They’re perfect for each other. Morgan’s powers are growing and she’s slowly learning what she is capable of. Her immense powers are making her struggle between always doing good and sometimes doing something bad to protect the people she loves. I do love it when a main character struggles internally. It makes them more real and easier to relate to.

I can’t wait to dive into next books and see what else Tiernan has in store for the characters I’ve grown to love. She’s a wizard when it comes to thinking up new and interesting ways to keep the stories going.

Well I don't know if I can give these books more than 3 stars. Like, it's okay, but it's definitely not amazing. Like, I have read books that were ten times better than this. I don't even know why I keep reading this either! Like, I don't even think it's that good, but I keep reading it because I'm curious. I really want to know what's going to happen in the end. I want to know how Morgan's relationship with Hunter is going to turn out!

Honestly, I never liked Cal. I always thought that there was something wrong with him. He definitely wasn't the type of love interest that most young adult books have. When Hunter came in the picture I was like "ooohhh. This is how it's supposed to look like". I'm so happy that Cal is dead now. I have been waiting for this for a very long time! Now Hunter and Morgan can be together. I just want to say that I love Hunter a lot more. I'm also happy that Bree and Morgan are on the path to becoming friends again. It was really bothering me that they were not friends.

Apart from that, the rest of the book was meh. Like I guess there were some events that made the book more interesting, but overall, It wasn't that good. I will be reading the next volume, because now that Selene and Cal are both dead, I want to see what the next antagonist will be. I have a very strong feeling that it will be Ciaran (I think that's how you spell it).

Alrighty kiddos, Morgan is back at it again with the confusing feelings a dumb life choices. So Vol. 2 seems to be more like two distinct novels instead of the one novel like Vol. 1. Although really Dark Magick seems more like the conclusion to Vol. 1 then the beginning of Vol.2, formatting wise I would have put it in Vol. 1. Dark Magick wraps up Cal and Morgan's relationship, while Awakening starts the beginnings of a friendship with Hunter and Sky and the mending of Bree and Morgan's relationship. I found myself telling Morgan shes dumb a lot during these three novels, cause she refuses to live in the reality of the story. Like other characters present her with solid evidence and she is just like that's not true. She makes horrible life choices and I'm frustrated with her immensely. A good place to start is Dark Magick. It picks up in the aftermath of Hunter and Cal's battle to the death with Cal the winner. If the first three didn't make me dislike Cal the fourth one certainly did. So Morgan is absolutely convinced that she has killed Hunter and is racked with guilt about it. Selene and Cal both convince her that it was in self defense (and it technically was). But do you know who didn't feel guilty Cal. Cal didn't feel guilty. Something Morgan just pretended not to see. Another thing that really should have been a tip of that maybe Selene and Cal were not the best people was the fact he lied about being Woodbane, something that was really freaking Morgan out when she found out she herself was of reformed Woodbane blood. You know who was telling the truth about Cal being Woodbane? Hunter that's who (more on that later). When she told Cal about her mother's coven tools he told his mother and Selene literally drove to Morgan's school just to talk to her about the tools and then was very upset when she found out the Morgan had bound the tools to herself; I was like "GIRL THEY ARE USING YOU!" Then, you know for good measure, he tries to kill her. I never likes Cal from the beginning. He was just to suave and charming so I kinda saw the whole "using you for more power" thing coming. What gets me is that despite people who know better, Hunter and Sky, and even her (ex) best friend, Bree, were all like Cal isn't good he's a liar and hes filling you with nonsense. Does she listen to them? No. No she doesn't. Then when Morgan finds out that low and behold Hunter is indeed alive she is elated that she didn't kill him and that he is alive. Cal on the other hand is not elated that Hunter is alive and well. In fact Cal is the exact opposite of elated. He tried to convince her that they would be better off if Hunter were dead. Does she take this as a red flag that maybe just maybe her boyfriend is an absolute ass? You would think that she would but she doesn't. Speaking of Hunter, I absolutely adore him. He is awkward and beautiful. He comes across as a bit cold (I'm convinced its the British), but really he cares very deeply about his family and his friends. He takes his job as Seeker very seriously, even though it takes a really heavy toll on his conscious. I like him a lot more for Morgan A) cause he's an actually good guy and B) because he is a lot more level headed and lives in the reality of the story unlike some people *cough* Morgan *cough*. Morgan immediately rights him off as the bad guy, mostly because Cal tells her so and some because she feels uneasy when hes around. She also rights off Sky, Hunter's cousin, as evil too. This girl does a Wiccan Mind Meld with him and still shes convinced that hes not a good guy despite the fact that she had unlimited access to his entire mind and not a single dark thought. It literally takes Cal trying to kill her by locking her in a room and setting it on fire for her to not only trust Hunter and Sky, but to also rekindle her friendship with Bree. Hunter for his part tries his best to protect Morgan and teach her how to protect herself. While Cal wants to use Morgan's power to further his mother's agenda, Hunter wants her to embrace it and be able to control it. Now despite how much I love Hunter he does have his flaws. He is very touche when it comes to the subject of Cal and honestly he's a bit jealous of the relationship Morgan had with Cal. So as Morgan and Hunter grow closer Morgan grows more and more confused about her feelings and instead of taking this is stride and giving her the support and space she needs to come to terms that her one and only boyfriend whom she was convinced she was in love TRIED TO KILL HER, he tends to blow up and become pretty angry when Cal is mentioned. Minor flaws; he's still my favorite. Much to Morgan's credit she deals with a lot of shit in this Volume. As previously mentioned she is nearly burned to death by her boyfriend. She was pulled from the rubble by her ex-best friend. Then she starts falling for her now ex-boyfriend's half-brother who is like a witch cop who wants to bring down her ex-boyfriend and his mother all while facing the very real danger that her ex-boyfriend's VERY powerful mother wants her dead so she can use Morgan's dead mothers coven tools unencumbered and she still has to go to math class. So I can kinda of understand her poor life choices, but that doesn't make them any less dumb. One of the things that Morgan struggles the most with, especially in Awakening and Spellbound, is the fact that she literally is blind to people's "dark" side, which is just slightly annoying as a ready. Mostly cause after what she has been through you would think that she would be a little less trusting and because she takes it out on Hunter a lot like its his fault that people do bad things and she can't see it when they do. The kicker is that the whole time Hunter is just like they did this bad thing and the broke the Wiccan laws doing it and shes just like you just have a vendetta against good people. Honestly throughout the whole story she has been selfish and naive. She doesn't really seem to care how her actions affect the people around her or even herself. So far Morgan is not the most compelling nor my favorite heroine in a story, but the story itself is pretty compelling. Hunter also kind of saves it for me so like I don't really feel like I am forcing myself through them, but I also don't think I am enjoying them as much as I once would have.

I forgot how much I love these books! There's some pretty lame high-school style drama, but for the most part they're really addictive. And of course they make me incredibly motivated when it comes to studying Wicca (lots of Hollywood-style magick, lots of unnecessary drama, but fun to read and inspiring nonetheless)!

Really liked this one! Stepped up the action, the internal conflict of the main character and also introduced more in depth some of the characters from last volume. Not a huge fan of the book of shadows inserts but I can see how they give a lot of information to the story's background.

My Review [May have spoilers]

Book 4 – Dark Magick
The end of book three was intense and had you wanting to read more of the series.. So i could not wait to start book 4 and i loved reading about the characters and getting back into the world.. I still do not like Cal because you can see in this book that he is trying to control Morgan and on his side it’s not a real love but you can see that morgan cares about cal which is sad to see.. I think that’s why Hunter and Sky sigils Morgans house so she can see the real cal and Selene and also to keep her save..

characters that i loved:
⦁ Morgan
⦁ Robbie
⦁ Mary k [ morgan’s sister]
⦁ Alyce [from the bookstore]

Cal and Morgan might have killed Hunter and she is not happy about that but you can see how happy cal is about it because he hates hunter.. I suspect that hunter might be Morgan’s soulmate.. So i am happy to see when morgan went to her fav book shop that she seen Hunter was not dead and you could see that she was happy to see him alive.. Morgan is so happy and relieved she didn’t kill him, unlike Cal who wishes they did.

Morgan starts to see things in Cal that she does not like which was good to see.. I did not like the way he treated her on her birthday because she could not do what he wanted and she keeps feeling something is wrong with cal and his mum especially after her birthday.. Her friends in Practical Magick, David and Alyce warn her to be careful and to ask for help which i thought was sweet..

Characters i disliked:
⦁ Raven
⦁ cal
⦁ selen

Morgan has progressed a lot as a character in such a short amount of time, and she continues to do so in the series.. Sure she makes some bad decisions, but that only makes her that much more human. And that is something I love about this series.. Sky and Hunter definitely played a big part in this book which i am glad to see a lot more of them in this series..

Book 5 – Awakening
I hated the way Cal and Selen treated Morgan and they finally revealed who they were, what their intentions were to Morgan and everyone else.. Its sad to see that Morgan is heartbroken but its sweet to see that hunter is taking care of her and making sure no one hurts her..

characters that i loved:
⦁ Morgan
⦁ Mary K
⦁ Robbie
⦁ Jenna
⦁ Alyce
⦁ Bree
⦁ Hunter

I was sad to see morgan so heartbroken and fighting for her life when cal took her and put a spellbound on her so she could not move. I hated that he and his mum tried to kill Morgan like the way her parents died in the fire . The way the story is going now in this series i think Selen obviously killed Maeve [ morgan’s mum] and stole her book of shadows, she must be the Dark Wave that attacks witches and kills them..

Characters i disliked:
⦁ Raven
⦁ cal
⦁ selen

I loved that morgan sent out a witch message to all her friends and that Hunter saves Morgan with Sky, Bree and Robbie which i think is amazing that bree is trying to be Morgans friend again and her car Das Boot is destroyed (almost) to save morgan and its sad to see that she is still heartbroken even after cal tried to hurt her.. there is also a sad part where she has to get Cal’s gifts away from her because they were spelled with dark magick to control her and make her believe she loves him.

Book 6 – Spellbound
Hunter the Seeker, who is now the leader of Morgans circle and her teacher. But it seems Hunter is falling for Morgan and Morgan is getting feelings for hunter but she is also trying to get over her heart being broken and she does not know who she can trust But in her heart she knows she can trust Hunter..

characters that i loved:
⦁ Morgan
⦁ Mary K
⦁ Robbie
⦁ Jenna
⦁ Alyce
⦁ Bree
⦁ Hunter

wow there is so many twists in book 6.. This book was packed with action, Twists, awesome friendships, amazing characters and romantic parts that it only took me a day to read.. I like the relationship between Morgan and hunter

The characters i hated are:

The only thing i did not like about book 6 was when cal tried to come back into town and try to mess with Morgans head again.. I also did not like that Selene took Mary k just so she could get to morgan and try to hurt morgan and hunter.. It was sad to see when morgan found more stuff out about her real parents and how they died.. I am hoping that Morgan and Hunter will end up together..

I highly recommend this series by Cate Tiernan. I can’t wait to read more of the books in the series..

Sweep Volume 2 by Cate Tiernan

What I Didn’t Like:
-Definitely full of the “haven’t we heard this story before” vibes, probably because I read this genre so much. For better or worse I felt shades of the House of Night series, my beloved Zoe Daniels series, and any other series where someone realizes they’re some supernatural/paranormal entity. You know what I mean, you’ve read them.
-Jesus/God or Goddess, pick one. I get that Morgan is raised Catholic and is learning to embrace her Wiccan roots, but it’s weird that most of the series she specifically thinks in terms of Goddess and defaults to Jesus/God when she’s in crisis.
-Cliffhangers. Get the series in this trilogy chonks, friends, because you’ll want it. Each of these stories ends with a cliffhanger, but it hurts less if you have three books to wade through because you can just keep going. Didn’t help the end of this one though … that hangs.

What I Did Like:
-Grammatically correct. That seems like a silly thing to mention, but it really is. There aren't any errors in this one even though we’re talking about almost 600 pages. It just reads easy and flows because it’s well written and error free.
-Wraps you up in the drama. One of the things that YA does so well is completely throw you into the drama of the life of the main character. This is no different. She has everyday problems (relationship drama, issues connecting with her sister, religious struggles) and then she compounds those with her wiccan drama. It’s fascinating and it sucks you in.
-Cliffhangers. Yup, I just mentioned those. But I’ll mention them again because not every author can leave you with a cliffhanger that makes you pick up the next one. Sometimes it’s not enough. Sometimes the book doesn’t stand up to that ending and you realize you don’t mind if you never find out how it ends. This one doesn’t do that. When this ends with you hanging on that cliff, you have to know what happens next. I just added another almost 600 pages trilogy volume to my TBR because I have to know. That’s the mark of a good cliffhanger.

The Verdict: This is a tough one. If you like the drama of a YA book infused with a story about wicca, if you like reluctant hero tropes combined with learning-my-powers stories, if you like love triangles … this is your book. Maybe it’s not that difficult, that’s pretty niche. 3 stars … but if that happens to be YOUR niche this will be your new favorite series.

WHERE TO BEGIN?????!!!! I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!!! Cal was just a controlling, manipulating shithead. BUT JESUS THE BETRAYAL?! I was just shocked. I mean, I knew Selene AND Cal needed Morgan for something. But the fact that he tried to kill her??? To “solve the problem” AND THEN SAYING HE DID IT TO SAVE HER????????!! I was just shocked.

MY OH LORD, HUNTER. I loved him from the moment he was introduced in the book. I was rooting soooo much for Hunter en Morgan. I love love love their relationship. It’s so pure, not to compare with Cal en Morgan. I love the way he shows Morgan that he genuinly cares about her and loves her. Morgan was confusing sometimes. I mean I understand her, Cal with whom she was in love tried to kill her. Not to mention all the controlling crap. She thought he loved her and would never hurt her. She was betrayed and was still healing while getting into things with Hunter. I also loved the fact that Hunter had so much patience with her after everything.

BUT THE CLIFFHANGER THO. I had my doubts about Cal’s intention after he came back. But when Selene loured Morgan to their house by using Mary K. I was surprised that it was only Selene in the library. I still thought that Cal was at her side and didn’t left her. Then from one moment to another Cal appeared and saved Morgan by being killed by Selene. I mean come on. WHAT A SACRIFICE. Not that he didn’t deserved it. Still hate him tho. But he saved my precious Morgan. And I need Morgan and Hunter together. Like, NEEEEED.

NOW WHAT? I just don’t think Selene is dead. Cal maybe is, but she isn’t. I think she’ll come back. It just can’t be over like that. She’s a powerful witch and I don’t think Selene would have let Morgan killed her without a real battle. This just sounded too easy. Too good to be true. But am I right this time?

OH AND!!!!! I’m wondering what happened to Hunter’s dad. They finally made contact and he wanted to say something to Hunter about his mom but then the connection broke because of something dark. Are they dead? Are they still alive and escaped the dark??
