Prilla just can't say no. When Nettle asks her to join in on caterpillar sheering for the second day in a row, Prilla tells a little white lie—she prefers butterflies to caterpillars. Then all the butterfly-herding talent fairies come down with a case of fairy pox, and because of her "love of butterflies," Prilla is asked to help out. But butterfly-herding is a lot harder than it sounds. Butterflies are downright mischievous, making Prilla's life perfectly miserable. Is it time for Prilla to 'fess up?

definitely not my favourite Tales of Pixie Hollow but there is no such things as a bad Tales of Pixie Hollow book.
I loved these books as a child and still do and now I have completed my reread of all those that ever were translated into Finnish. Wanna get my hands on the others even in English....
the problem in this book was not prilla but the fact that no one else MINDED THEIR OWN BUSINESS!! I think this was rooted in the fact that they didn't respect prillas job JUST BECAUSE she was the only one with that job. they didn't let the fairy who KEPT THEM ALIVE do her job but they didn't bother the alarm clock talent fairy?? and like vidia is right prilla should tell them she doesn't want to do their jobs but how do you object to queen clarion?? the whole butterfly plot was queen clarions fault because like if you have a business and you're the boss and there is one person that makes everyone believe that your other employees are real, you wouldn't make her like sort colored blocks or something right?? and the job part doesn't make sense because I like dogs, but I wouldn't be able to herd like 20 dogs BY MYSELF with no help or instruction!!! prilla is NOT A PROFESSIONAL IN ANYTHING!!!!! queen clarion I hate you. it is a little bit prillas fault though because she was telling the caterpillar girl that she liked something better than caterpillars and instead of butterflies she could have said that she liked HER JOB?? what pixie hollow really needs is a presentation on why other people don't like your job as much as you because YOU WERE BORN TO DO YOUR JOB. CATERPILLARS ARE NOT COOL YOU WERE JUST ASSIGNED TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. I think prilla should have asked caterpillar girl to do her job and caterpillar girl would have been like "I can't because only you can do that and also I was born to be a caterpillar girl" and prilla would be like "then that probably means you should let me do my job because only I can do it" and then prilla should have went to the real world and told everyone to stop believing in caterpillar girl so caterpillar girl would die. does prilla get paid for doing other people's jobs? probably not. caterpillar girl is incredibly selfish she's probably making prilla do her job so she has less work and because of that people are going to stop believing in fairies and they will all die. caterpillar girl probably knew prilla was lying about the butterflies but told clarion to get back at prilla for not doing her job. going back to alarm clock talent fairy, was she really more vital than prilla? if her only responsibility is waking up prilla to do something that's not prillas talent, couldn't alarm clock fairy just do the job? these are the things I think about
We enjoyed this story from Disney, one of many Disney FairiesTales of Pixie Hollow books that our oldest daughter found at her school library. I have a feeling we'll be reading more of the same.
This one is about being true to yourself, not letting everyone run all over you, and telling the truth. The lessons were good, the story was fairly funny and the book was a quick read.
3.5 stars. Cute story, with a touch of mystery and a lesson about speaking up. Generally, a conflict that can be resolved with a conversation is not a good one, but I think the rules may be different in a book for young readers. This book shows them it’s ok to have different passions from your friends.
It’s a follow up to one of the original books by Gail Carson Levine that launched the chapter book series. I haven’t read them, but did hear a summary on a YouTube video. I think had I not known her backstory, this book—her talent—might have been a bit confusing. Then, it is briefly explained in this book, so perhaps not.
I also liked how there’s a subtle theme about being a loner by choice (Vidia) and by circumstance. Prilla is the only one of her talent in a community where everyone else has a talent group to belong to. It’s not overtly explored, but her desire to help others is suggested as a way for her to belong.
Prilla on epäilemättä Keijupoukaman avuliain keiju.
Well ya cuma bisa kasih rating 3 bintang aja
Poor Prilla is just like me: can't say "no" to save her life. This is a story about how it's better to be honest about what you enjoy, or with what you're comfortable with, than to lie because you don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. A great lesson for kids, featuring Pixie Hollow's most precious fairy (no, I'm not at all salty that they cut her from the movies, not at allll...)
These are always fun little reads - I really loved in this one how Prilla had to learn how to say no when her friends asked for things. I think this is difficult no matter who you are, and learning how to say no without hurting others feelings, and without letting it hurt you, is such an important lesson!
people pleaser prilla a mood. also the fact that she's like "but I dO like helping out. some tasks. sometimes. just not these ones, and not this much" like yeah so true it can be hard to find a balance and not go overboard it's good to be helpful it's even fun to be helpful but when it becomes too much and when it's people pleasing it's hurtful to yourself
This was an interesting story to the Pixie hollow series, Prilla is one of my favorites and to see her grow and have her own tale was interesting and very good. This was a fast pace and simple read very enjoyable and good.
