While I usually love reading about nutritional choices, this book wasn’t really interesting for me. However, it did have food choices I’m willing to try.

This book is so much fun to look at as well as to read. It's bright and cheery and done in a magazine type layout. The pages are glossy and just jammed full of information. I found that most of the information can cross over to teens through adult, making this a very useful book that will be used over and over again.

I enjoyed this book immensely. It is easy to read and holds lots of information. With each chapter focusing on a theme, and then broken down into tiny articles and blurbs, this makes the information easy to digest and really easy to stay focused on. One neat thing is, because of the bright and cheery pages, I found my children (and even my husband!!) picking it up and looking through it. Since it was left on the coffee table, it was easy to access and even those that visited, leafed through it and commented that they wanted to add one to their family library.

One part that I thought was great - especially in a "healthy living" type book is the discussion of eating out and what are the best choices at certain fast food places. Although one should avoid them, there are times that it may not be possible. This book is realistic in that area.

This is a great book that I strongly recommend every parent should read. Please note, this book is Christian based.

This is a fantastic resource for the family. Obesity is becoming a huge problem in America today and it is really sad - what we do and don't eat is the major cause of that and it seems to be highly family related... parents definitely set the example. I was excited about this book because I was looking forward to going through it with them and hoping that it would really open their eyes to the importance of eating right. The book seems to be written more for parents than for kids though, which is fine, just not what I was expecting. I still plan on using the information in it, just maybe not in the way I was thinking I would.

Thanks to goodreads first reads I received this book. This is my introduction to a series of books by this author. It involves getting the most out of good food to provide to best benefits. A pediatrician also contributes to this book. The format is nice for easy reference and I also did appreciate the holistic approach, I do believe each area of our lives affects the other and shows it, either lacking or abundantly.

I NEVER win anything!! I'm really excited to read this book and to share it with my kids. They all have taken an interest in eating healthier and I think this will cut down on the "happy meal" requests! Bonus!

Dr. Colbert provides valuable information regarding health that I found useful and necessary. He is religious, and enjoys incorporating his beliefs into his profession and writing. I did find him slightly "fluffy" at times, but I simply overlooked his preachy or extremist-sounding sections, and appreciated his scientific data.

This was a first-reads win. I only skimmed it, disappointed that it pertained mostly to infants and toddlers. Was hoping for better information for adolescents.
