I've read all the immortals books (there are 6 or 7 of them total, I think) and at first, they were interesting. After a few of them though, I have to admit, I got a little bored. The first 2 or 3 books had their own complete stories with endings (but were still connected to the series as a whole). The remaining books were just one long drawn out story about the same thing with no ending or problem resolving until the final book. The main character, Ever, becomes completely annoying with her never ending parade of BAD choices, and the millions of obstacles she and her boyfriend face in order to have sex make the books redundant and boring.
I Absolutly LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! I don't know why people say they hate them on here but it is a really great book, I recommend reading this book , you either Love it or Hate it so you should go decide for yourself if you like it , the books are about sixteen year old Ever, her famliy gets in a car reck , her sister Riley visits her when she is a ghost ever gets psychic powers and then she meets gorgeous Damen who is a immortal. SPOILER ALERTS
Ever: I Like how they said ever used to be popular but then she came to California being the weird girl, She makes me mad how she acts Somtimes but I think it just adds more of who she is as a character who has gone through a lot so I understand how she is Somtimes but I keep in mind that that's her character,
Miles: Probably my FAVORITE character in the book, miles is Evers best friend , ( he is also gay, I don't mind that at all but if you do I wouldn't recommend reading this book) he is bright and entertaining , I think he teaches the reader a lot once you get into the books, I LOVE how Alyson Noel made such a bright character when somtimes the book goes dark but you still have miles to brighten it up a bit and I like how she made Evers group of friends sorta like misfits so you understand more of there characters more I think.
Haven: You always know that one teenager who just want attention, Haven is Evers other best friend, haven is a misread girl her parents are not around usually and she is goth so she can get more attention, she goes to clubs to help kids with drugs and drinking ( She doesent do drugs or drinks she goes to those clubs because wants attention) she is not a well liked character she is snobby and always gets jealous of Ever and she can be very annoying at Somtimes
Damen: Damen is every girls dream boy, the thing I don't like about Damen is he is absolutely PERFECT!! He can paint better then all the famous painters ( he claims he taught them how to paint) he claims he sucks at love but No he does not he finds Ever all of her life times and loves her again and again I don't call that sucking at love but anyways I LOVE DAMEN.But I thought Alyson Noel could have made him have maybe a little more flaws because you we'll never find a guy like Damen it is impossible he is way to Perfect!!!
Drina: This Girl Is SUPER CREEPY!!! Talk about attachment she basically stocks Damen and kills Ever all of her life times , she is super weird too obsessive and a weird bad guy in the story I have never seen anything like it you we'll either Love/Hate this idea of a bad guy I personally dissent really like it but I still Lived the story!!!
How Drina died at the end was sorta stupid but it was still a good ending all the books were great everyone should read them there awesome
If you value you your sanity you will not read ANY of these. to be fair the first book and the beginning of the second book are quite good, if you can ignore the heroine of the story, she had been through a lot, understood. However when a character makes the SAME stupid mistake not once or twice but THREE times!! I tend to get annoyed. The cherry on the cake of her stupidity is when she starts to think about betraying THE ONLY decent character in the book!! to say it annoyed me would be a huge understatement(like saying the sun is warm understatement) safe to say I will not be reading the other books in this series because I actually like having hair and I don't like pulling it all out in frustration.
The writing style is good and Damon is a sweetheart, a little too sweet. I'm sorry but that is the nicest thing I can say about this book.
I seen this book at a BJs when I went to visit my family in Pennsylvania. What drew me to the first book was the cover. After looking at the cover, I read the introduction. It seemed rather interesting. After reading the first two books from the series; I pretty much lost interest in the series. I'd recommend the series to someone who enjoys a long suspense as well as someone who enjoys reading fantasy fiction novels.
the first three books are just the beginning of Ever's and damen's epic love story that will last eternity. or will it??? read the last three amazing books to get clues and the answer in the final book. I'm truly a HUGE fan of this series. I just started this month and have read the whole series six times. alyson Noel truly grasps u into the books and NEVER let's u go!!!
And this is where it ended for me. The first three books in this series were AWESOME, but after that it all went down from there. I am going to try and read the rest of the series, maybe it picks up :]
Liked the first book, but after that it was a short downhill spiral followed by a plummet off a cliff. I feel a bit guilty, but I am REALLY not fond of authors that just drag things out at the sake of the story.
This book did grip me right away; I instantly liked the FMC and found it intriguing. Instantly I felt some Memory Walker vibes. As it goes on, it does have some major Twilight vibes; particularly Damon basically is Edward (personality-wise, not physically). Still, the book’s fun enough that I’m happy to see how it plays out.
The author did a good job of telling the story in the POV of a self aware, wise-beyond-her-years teenager. While none of the characters are original, they’re also teenagers just trying to survive those also high school years, so it pretty much works.
Despite the lack of originality, it’s a pretty fun read. Pretty much nothing is original anyway these days, and there was some fun action, drama and a fun villain. The author does have a writing style I enjoy; will likely read on in the series, at least for one more installment.
4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note: I listened to the audiobook; this is a 5-star performance. Narrator’s voice remained smooth and pleasant, even when sped up.
2. Blue Moon
This was entertaining enough and kept me invested in the series, but isn’t my favorite installment. Ever is annoying in this one—which means the author knows how to get to her readers, so impressive but frustrating too if that makes sense.
Worth the read in order to stay current on the series, as book 3 picked up more.
3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note: I listened to the audiobook; 5-star performance from the narrator.
3. Shadowland Couldn’t put this one down, enjoyed it more than book 2. Though it was a bit slow. There’s all this mystery, leftover drama from previous installments and conflict but … it sort of crawls on. Could’ve been better written in this way. Still, enjoyed it, missed it when I put it down and feel a need to read on in the series so good overall.
4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note: I listened to the audiobook; 5-star performance from the narrator.
This book series reminded me of a mixture of the vampire diaries and some other books. The only difference is that there is no vampires in this book series just immortals and magic. While the storyline is original and has good plot some of the writing seemed slow and difficult to get through. In other words, it took me more than a day to read the full series and that this is one of those books were you can take a break from the series and come back months later still knowing what is going on.
K, just pretend this also includes books 4–6... My first thought when I read Evermore was how did this author not get the pants sued off her for straight plagiarizing Twilight and The Vampire Diaries? The good news is, if you liked those, you'll probably like this one (I still did). After the first book, the series takes a VERY different direction (at least from that of Twilight, I've never actually read or seen Vampire Diaries, I just recognized the character's name...), and it got much too dark for my tastes very quickly. I don't like it when the villain has too much power for too long. I don't like watching the hero struggle hopelessly against overwhelming odds. That's just my personal taste though, so if you like the unbeatable odds thing, by all means, you will probably like this series. However, I did actually like the last book, Everlasting. It came to a satisfying conclusion, and the characters learned some universal life lessons that I feel enriched the story. This one was more of a journey of self-discovery than a battle against evil, but it fit with the themes and trajectory of the whole series.
Evermore: Oh... WOW. This book just blew me away. I was intrigued by the first line, which was the first building block for Ever and Damen's fantastic tale. I have been waiting to get my hands on this book for quite a while now. I read the blurb a long time ago, and I knew I had to read it. The result of reading it? I fell in love with Ever and Damen. Alyson Noel really knows how to build suspense, create obstacles and do everything else that makes a book interesting. I definitely recommend that you go read The Immortals Series. Stunning.
Blue Moon: How this series continues to amaze me. I don't know how, and I don't know why. It has never happened before. Never have I believed that every book of a six book series would be two trios of stunningly beautiful books. Well, I believe so now. Alyson Noel is amazing. Her writing though... wow. Alyson Noel has topped my top author chart. I just love her writing, somehow it gets to me a lot. I totally understand Ever, and I feel her frustration just through Alyson Noel's writing. What's my recommendation? Read the immortals series. It's most definitely worth it. After that? Come back here and obsess with me over it. Believe me, I think they're that good.
Shadowland: Oh, wow. I just loved the end of this. Although, I have to say, the middle dragged a bit. It was very much like Blue Moon, a continuation of similar days, with not much action. But, once it all heated up, I loved Shadowland! Again, Alyson Noel has proved that she is a master plotter and a brilliant writer. I can't get enough of her, and this series. This book was a bit of a disappointment in comparison to Evermore and Blue Moon, but I still loved it, if you get what I mean? A great book, but not on the same level as Evermore and Blue Moon. Fantastic ending.
If I hadn't bought this on a 1-3 box set after the first one I wouldn't have bothered getting the rest of the series. First book was okay, fluffy and easy but very slow, second book actually had quite a good story and the third had promise, but then turned completely stupid at the end. Will not be bothering with any more of this series
Intresting story...one of my favourites which I have to admit, I've read more then once. Amazing story with breathtaking characters that leave you wishing you were in the book. I strongly recommend this book to any and all who are dying for an immortal love story with an epic ending.
This series is okay. I would say the first book is the best out of these three. However, there will be times when you want to shake the main character Ever, as hard as you can.
Look at Evermore, Blue Moon, and Shadowland for full reviews.
I was hooked on the first 3 books but the fourth book didnt keep me as intrested. It took forever to get to the point and Ever always got me mad. Its good to read to pass some time.
