Seriously! How can you NOT read and love a book like this?? I love combining two or more hobbies; kitties and books, or kitties and books, AND a cup of coffee...! It has always been my firm belief that cats are Mother Nature's most purrfect creation and should rightfully rule the world. This book seriously tickled my kitten fancy, and is a purrfect addition to my collection of feline literature.
"Be soft. Be cool. Be mysterious. Know all the sunny places."

You know, we really ought to learn more from our cats. They have such wonderful lives having us serve them, they must know something we don't, right?

Like the ability to just be absolutely adorable without even trying.

Sadly, this is not directly covered in this book.

It's short with lovably dopey artwork that any cat fan will love and find themselves saying, "Yup. My cat totally does that."

Full of the kind of wisdom only a being with much more intact instincts than you can teach. How did i ever enjoy life before i found my 21 lb, jet black, rescue kitty? Delightful, inexplicable, brilliant, completely silly, and totally in touch with what matters.
And yes, of course i have a dog, too, as a proud and practicing bipetual.
And 2 snakes - but they're not furry, or homeothermic.
A fine 10 minute read. For those times.

I received this as a Christmas gift from my aunt, along with a cat jigsaw puzzle and novelty cat socks, because I am THAT niece.
Sort of a graphic novel, sort of a picture book, and very cute.

As a cat-owner myself, this book sweetly highlights the many benefits of owning a cat, having such a friend, and the many things I've learned from him. He often "helps," sits or lies down on the spots I've just got up from, is very affectionate, dreams with me, and is loved. ...more

This book was gifted to me as a birthday present a long time ago by a family I still love.
My favorite gold pieces from this amusing book are

"Pee without getting any on your shoes [and] get someone else to clean your bathroom".
(illustration of cat balancing her backside over the edge of litterbox, followed by messy bathroom).

"Be curious" (illustration of cat headed for top shelf of bookcase with a fishbowl on it).

"Depend on others without losing your independence [and] enjoy your own company"

I found this book randomly in my best friend's bedroom while visiting. It was exactly what I needed while going through a time of many life transitions to begin graduate school, including leaving my own cat for some time. It is short, lovely, and includes adorably amusing drawings. The book is a perfect reminder to value life's small moments and consider a different, all be it, small and furry, perspective. ...more

Um, okay. But . . . everything I need to know I learned from The Wizard of Oz! I already know how to give humans the silent stare, rip the end of the couch to threads without guilt, nap a huge percent of the day, never come when called, yawn like I mean it, sneeze that’ll be the envy of everyone, be tolerant but not overly accommodating, lay on the newspaper (always a hit with friends at Starbucks), pee without getting any on my feet, lick the important parts (don’t go there), resist being put i ...more

There are plenty of lessons within these covers that us humans should look at and perhaps obey - or at least try to!

I particularly like 'Avoid company you do not like', 'Just because you're home, you don't have to answer the 'phone' and 'Dream'.

The cartoons to augment the advice are most appropriate.

A fun book.

This book is short, clever, and incredibly hilarious! It's the kind of book you'll want to keep on your shelf to refer back to every few years when you're in dire need of a laugh. But if you don't want to buy it, look for it at your library. You'll probably be able to finish it before you can even get to the check out counter. ...more

Cute kitty wisdoms. Maybe not the most in-depth wisdom pieces out there, but the book works for the daily life blues. Adorable kitty pictures, just something perfect for the days when you need something cute and simple to be happy.

To be nearly 30 years old and a satire-esque gift book this is actually so sweet. Messages like “be accommodating, but not overly so,” “don’t be afraid to bite the hand that feeds,” and “don’t be afraid to take chances - somehow you always end up on your feet” make this short and sweet little book relevant. Cute art too!

“Be hard to leave. Notice the squirrels. Be mysterious. Be tolerant but overly accommodating.” These are just a few of the insights within this little book. Based very loosely on All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, the plain wisdom and simple illustrations make this a great book to read. It can help you know yourself as well.

This is a cute little book that I think all cat owners/lovers can relate to. Except the cat on counters/tables because that is just disgusting.
