I would like to thank the author for the eARC opportunity. Like always, this review is voluntary & honest.

Wow, every time I think Sarah can no longer leave me in awe with her stories & writing, she PROVES ME WRONG. And she did this twice with this book, because I didn’t think this book would top her other books that I’ve read & loved, but it ended up being my favorite of hers thus far!

The way she brought so many of the different storylines from The Book of All Things series together. Tied them all together so beautifully to further along a bigger plot that unites them all, all characters & all journeys. It was so amazing to read about Imryll & Drazhan, Rhiain & Asterin and even the Ravenwoods which reminded me of Rhosyn & Evra. It filled my heart with happiness to hear about them again & the ending of this book left me excited for what’s to come with the future generations if possible.

Anastazja (Ana) was such a kindhearted & selfless heroine. I feel like the best way to describe her would be a heroine who shows that we are not all born fearless, but life throws hardships our way that strengthen us & teach us how to rise above the ashes & fight for those we love. To fight for those we know we must protect. To fight for a better future. I LOVED her development, the gradual change in her character that happened so organically was executed so beautifully, it brought tears to my eyes by the end. You know that feeling when you’re proud of how far someone has come in the best way? That was me!

Tyreste… if you would have told me he would have jumped to the top of my favorites of Sarah’s MMCs, I wouldn’t have believed you. BUT THIS MAN, the way his love for Ana is so wholesome, strong, pure & most of all HEALTHY. He somehow always knew when she needed to stand on her own & when she needed him to be her strength. He understood that & supported her, but he never let her give up on them or her happiness. He reminder her she deserved a happily ever after, and most of all, he fought for her when no one else did. He was there for her when she was isolated from everyone else. The way he loved so fiercely & fought for their future fearlessly. I was rooting for him to finally get the happily ever after he deserve. And his growth from the events in The Altruist and The Assassin, to the end of this book? Such incredible growth!

Not only was the spice in this deliciously steamy, but Sarah always finds a way to make it poetic as well as an important plot point to further the overall story. And was swooning & blushing THE WHOLE TIME. The side characters we meet in this story will also steal your heart & have you hoping we may get their own stories as well. This was a perfect addition to “The Book of All Things” series and I cannot wait to see what other incredible stories Sarah will continue to create! 🩵

Sarah M. Cradit weaves an enchanting and forbidden love story in "The Belle and the Blackbird," a fantasy romance with echoes of the Snow White fairy tale.

Set in the richly developed world of The Book of All Things series, this story introduces readers to Tyreste and Anastazja, characters first encountered in "The Altruist and the Assassin." While each book in the series can stand alone, there's a sense that readers who have followed the entire series may have a deeper appreciation for the interconnected elements.

Their love story is both alluring and heart-wrenching, with elements that pay homage to the Snow White tale while adding unique and compelling twists. One of the highlights of the book is the portrayal of Tyreste's family, who bring warmth and depth to the story. Additionally, the inclusion of sign language representation adds another layer of richness to the narrative, although the circumstances surrounding Anastazja's hearing loss could have been explored in more detail for clarity. Perhaps it is explained in prior novels.

While the characters in this tale often resemble fairy tale archetypes rather than fully fleshed-out individuals, the magical world they inhabit and the forbidden love at its core create an engaging reading experience.

Thank you to the author for the eARC! This is an honest review.

TBATB is an NA standalone fantasy romance tale about a young recluse and the enigmatic noble whose life is consumed by a terrible, dangerous mystery. It's the 7th book in an interconnected but standalone fantasy romance tales - The Book of All Things, all set in the Kingdom of the White Sea world.

A new era started with love between Imryll and Drazhan (heir of Vjestik), when powerful bloodlines and rare magic birthed a resilient dynasty. Over 200 years later, Ana is the current heir of the Vjestik. She was born second, but tragedy stuck and made her first. The danger is luring everywhere she goes. Behind the seemingly wonderful and privileged life of Ana, an ancient evil stalks her family's revered halls.

Sarah's writing is marvelous and immersive. I was yet again sucked into her magical, dangerous and captivating world. Writing is lyrical and it displays so much emotions that some of you will definitely sob. I very much enjoyed that TBATB tied many secrets and scheming aspects (not all) this time. It was wonderful to see connections and meet characters from previous books. When I learned that Tyr would have his own book, I was so happy!

Tyr has his own secrets and dark past that haunts him. So does Ana. He's so sweet to his family and so caring to Ana. They only met 2 years ago, but the passion these two have is undeniable. Despite Ana being royalty, she's so down to earth. I have no negative things to say about them. I hope you will enjoy their dynamic as much as I did. I don't want to spoil anything due to quotes, but there are 2 particular ones I adored. I will try to give you hints here:

1: If you read chapter 15 (almost the end), there's a quote from Tyr about love and death. It's so intimate and powerful, and just the words that they both needed to hear and express. Perfection!
2: Chapter 23, Tyr's quote involving breath in his tired lungs and the aftermath of what he did. My emotions were all over the place.

What do I love about Sara’s books? Everything. This was a second chance romance, Tyreste story and can be read as a stand-alone. His journey and his love for Anastazja. It was heartbreaking and intense. SMC wrote a thrilling, complex story with hints of a fairy tale. The evil stepmother was the worst. It was written creatively with awesome magic and the development was something special. My favorite thing about this was the romance and chemistry. SMC always delivers. I highly recommend and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book is set in Sarah M. Cradit’s Kingdom of the White Sea universe, and it follows Tyreste Penhallow and Anastazja Wynter, two people from different stations in life who fall in love anyway. Tyr and Ana’s forbidden romance was absolutely phenomenal, and it’s actually my new favorite of the series! I was so excited when I saw that Tyr was getting his own story, and Sarah M. Cradit did not disappoint! “The Belle and the Blackbird” was raw, gritty, and emotional, and I enjoyed every second of it. This book was incredibly angsty; I even cried literal tears at certain points because of what was happening with these characters.

The two main characters in this novel were Tyr and Ana, and I have to say that I connected with both of them. Tyr has lived a hard life, but despite everything, he continues to keep his head held high, even when things aren’t easy. For me, Tyr was a wonderful character because of his personality and his actions. The way he was devoted to his family, his dedication to his work, his interactions with his sister Addy, and of course, his love for Ana. And Ana! I can say with 100% honesty that Ana is one of the most kindhearted and selfless characters I’ve ever read about. She’s not conceited or entitled due to her high station, and although she often finds herself trapped in an internal struggle, she always tries to do her best for the people she loves.

Tyr and Ana have the kind of connection that only happens once in a lifetime, and their chemistry was scorching hot. Their relationship was well developed, and their love was steadfast and true. There were many difficult moments for them, but I was rooting for their happily ever after the whole time. This was absolutely a 5 star read for me!

Ahhhhh!!!! OMG!!! What a book!

I mean Sarah can do no wrong and will forever be an auto-buy author for me. Her work is amazing and I can never give her books any lower than a five star.

I didn’t think the clawed and the crowned could be topped as my favourite but this one has done it. It exceeded all my expectations and more. It had me on a rollercoaster of emotions and my heart was definitely in my throat a few times but that ending 😍

I LOVED everything about it. The belle and the blackbird has a Snow White feel to it but is so much better and a little darker which I loved. It’s also closely connected to the claw and the crowned in the book of all things series which was a bonus for me. Tyr and Ana are just uhhh 🥰 Loved their relationship so frickin much. The way his family (especially his sister Addy) completely took her in as one of their own melted my heart.

This is a series where I genuinely get excited about the next instalment and if you haven’t read any of these books yet, PLEASE do. You won’t be disappointed.

It has romance, spice, poisoned apples, wicked schemes and a very hot new book boyfriend 🔥

Thank you so much to Sarah and Luna blooms PA for an arc copy of this book.

Thank you to Sarah for the aARC in exchange for an honest review!

Sarah M Cradit does it again! In the latest installment of her Book of All Things trilogy she writes a masterpiece. The Belle and the Blackbird picks up with Tyreste from the Alturist and the Assassin, which was a welcome addition to this part of the series! Tyr is a fantastic hero to root for as he tries to support our heroine while still having a story of his own.

The Belle and the Blackbird has a fair amount of commonalities to the fairytale Snow White, which is welcome and written well. Overall, Cradit has written another fantastic book and I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for this series.

Thanks to Sarah Cradit for an ARC of this book. It’s tense and engaging, and difficult to put down. Ana and Tyr are sympathetic characters, and if you read "The Altruist and the Assassin," you’ll find yourself immediately rooting for Tyr to finally find the happiness he deserves. Prior to this, Tyr went through hell to get where he is—surviving a fire in which he believed his parents were killed, losing the woman he thought he loved, finding himself a prisoner for many years, finally being freed with the help of that woman, only to find she had fallen in love with someone else because her feelings for Tyr were never really romantic. Five years later, he has located his family and is still long-distance friends with Rhiain (his former love) and Asterin (her husband), who now have several children together. Now, he is totally in love with Ana who, early on, breaks things off with him because she’s worried about his safety if someone finds out she cares for him. Heartbroken, they both find they’re better off working together (which is what any seasoned reader should expect).

Magda, the witch who caused Ana’s mother to die and her father to marry her, is now Ana’s evil stepmother. While she has enchanted the entire household, including Ana’s twin Niko, and holds them in thrall, she reveals her true self to Ana and the descriptions are disturbing—rotten teeth, dead eyes, gnarled hands, and so forth. Ana is forced to do Magda’s bidding because of threats to kill her father, her brother, and eventually Tyreste. Ludya, Ana’s shaman, and Grigor, Ana’s uncle (brother of her deceased mother) turn out to be helpful allies in Ana’s efforts to escape the machinations of Magda. The problem is that Magda is not really the problem; she works for someone else.

Mortain (not new to anyone familiar with the series) is a meduwyn, an immortal, evil being who seeks to destroy the Ravens of Ravenwood (a people who live in the mountains and transform into Ravens to travel) and plans to use Ana to do it. Although she initially lures several ravens from their home on Icebolt Mountain (Ana is a phoenix), she feels guilty and is searching for a way to avoid doing it again. Mortain is no more benign than Magda. (Narrator: He’s worse.) Anyway, Ana and her friends (Tyreste, Ludya, Grigor, and Tyr’s sister, Addy) work furiously to discover a way to prevent Mortain from harming anyone in their kingdom. They find that it has been done in the past and determine a more lasting way to enact that protection.

It’s a compelling read—tense, yet hopeful, while still discouraging (yes, really). Ana and Tyr’s desire to be together and to be safe seems like an impossible task, but of course, we know they’ll figure it out eventually. There are some gruesome scenes described, and although I wouldn’t say anything is gratuitous, that doesn’t make it easier to read. Sex scenes are pretty graphic as well (if you’re bothered by that kind of thing, which I’m not). The important thing is that Cradit draws you into the lives of the characters and makes you care about them; you become invested in their happiness. You feel their emotions and understand why they do the things they do. Although I found more memorable quotes in Tyr’s previous book, this one is still amazing and worth reading. Though not necessary, you might appreciate it more if you read The Altruist and the Assassin first.

The Belle and the Blackbird is the 7th book in The Book of All Things romantasy series. The book can be read as a standalone, but I think it makes for a richer reading experience if you have read the previous book in the cycle, The Altruist and the Assassin, where we first meet Tyreste Penhallow.

The book opens with an established relationship between Tyreste and Anastazja Wynter. But quickly things take a turn for the worst and our lovers are torn apart by DARK FORCES! Ana decides to terminate the relationship with Tyreste telling him it was only for a lark, but she's done now and leaves Tyreste alone with a broken heart.

This set up leads us to the main Snow White inspired storyline involving Ana's stepmother, Magda, a witch with powers that Ana has no hope of defeating and has already taken most everything that Ana loves. In an effort to keep Tyreste safe, Ana uses her magic in an attempt to keep Magda's dark schemes from touching him, but it leads her to make some horrific choices and she sees no opportunity for escape.

Once again Sarah Cradit delivers on plot, plot, plot! The romance is woven into the actual PLOT of the book and while it is a romance (true love will conquer all!), getting there is the biggest problem. Ana sees her love for Tyreste as a forbidden love, and Tyreste is so heartbroken, he can't see what's in front of his face. These two have to figure out that working together is what will defeat evil, but it takes time, maturity, and most of all, communication for Ana and Tyreste to get where they need to be.

The other thing I really loved about TBATB is the setting. The far north is the perfect setting for characters to feel trapped and alone. It's always cold and snowy and the village of Witchwood Cross is hard to get to. There is no help coming for Ana and Tyreste and no one to stop Magda for them, which leads to Ana's feelings of isolation and doubt.

Can I say once again, that I adore Cradit for putting actual detailed plots into her romantasy books? Readers of The Claw and the Crowned will love the callbacks to Imryll and Drazhan and I loved how Sarah wove their story into this new one starring their descendant, Ana. It's not necessary to read Claw before reading The Belle and the Blackbird, but really you want to because Imryll and Drazhan were also chef's kiss!

Warning this book does have some scenes of gore (and it's a doozy) and the spice level is about a level 3.

It's safe to say I enjoyed every moment of The Belle and the Blackbird and I can't wait for the next book in the Guardians cycle.

Thank you to Sarah Cradit for the arc for review purposes.

Wow, what another amazing story from SMC, this one weaves a tale of forbidden romance and perilous mysteries that tugs at every emotion. Tyreste and Anastazja's journey is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, a love story that defies societal norms and expectations, and is testament to Cradit's masterful storytelling. We as readers are privy to the intricate dance of love between two individuals from vastly different worlds, as they navigate ancient curses, political intrigue, and personal traumas. Cradit's lyrical prose paints a vivid world that effortlessly intertwines with her previous works, I loved linking back to Asterin and Rhiain as well as Imryll and Drazhan but with that aspect of not feeling like I'm missing out if I don't remember every detail (or if I hadn't read them at all, I hate when I read a book where someone's like "you don't need to read the others!" but it turns out you absolutely do). With compelling character growth, intense emotions, and moments that will leave you reaching for tissues, 'The Belle and the Blackbird' is not just a retelling but a reinvention, and it did NOT disappoint.

The Book of All Things series continues to deliver on a world so full of rich characters and impressive history. Sarah M. Cradit weaves an threads together, telling stories that captivate the reader and leaves them feeling good, but craving more.

I wasn't originally excited to read more of Tyreste after the Altruist and the Assassin since he wasn't a very likeable character, but without even showing his growth, he is such a changed character and for the better! I loved following a known character aand reading the merge of family lines with Ana Wynter. More people and events are connecting between the books, even though they can still be read as standalones.

The plot was my favorite part in this book. It pulled in much dark tones, and a larger problem for the entire continent, not just the North. The magic system in the Kingdom of the White Sea still remains somewhat a mystery to me, so I am excited to read what comes next!

This was much spicier than I expected but it was still done so well and with love. Tyr's and Ana's relationship is to die for!! I couldn't get enough.

An interesting mixture of the Snow White tale, and the Snow White and Rose Red tale. I didn't realize until recently that they are two completely different stories. We've got the evil stepmother and the charmed apple, but we've also got the two "sisters", although that's about all the comparison I could really make to Snow and Rose. The story opens up with a "spicy" scene, which I'm not real fond of, but was able to get past. I'd put it at about 3-4 peppers for the book overall. I enjoy the writing style of Sarah Cradits books, and the Kingdom of the White Sea is an interesting world to escape to for a while. It was cool to see a little more of Imryll and Drazhan from The Claw And The Crowned, but it isn't necessary to read that book to understand this one.

This was an unique spin on the Snow White and Rose Red retellings.

Their story started off with a bang. It was interesting to see the reasons behind what Ana did to protect Tyr.

Ana was trying to protect everyone around her but herself. Tyr just wanted to protect Ana and be there for her.

I loved that Tyr's sister Addy did sign language. Loved how Sarah portrayed in the book.

I love how Sarah weaves all her previous stories together. And it seemed like there were some future hints to upcoming stories.

"Often bent. Never broken."

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Tyr since I didn't care much for him in TAATA. However, he won me over in this one. The man has skills... if you know what I mean...

This starts off with spice and a breakup. I knew it'd be good from there. I did want to slap Ana and Tyr quite a few times but I really enjoyed this story. Sarah always makes reading her stories effortless.

This was a dash of mystery, high stakes, and a bit spicy. Another wonderful addition to the BOAT series!

I love Addy! She’s probably my favorite character in the book.

Tyr, we have much to discuss my dude. And I am so so happy that you found your love.

Ana, we also have some things to discuss. Like, why not ask for help? You have help! Which is why I am happy for this character development towards the end.

The forbidden romance is strong with this one that there’s a “miscommunication” trope. It’s not really miscommunication, just didn’t say what I really feel kind of way.

I enjoyed seeing Asterin and Sesto even for a moment.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and learn more about this world.

Cradit has done it again! This book tore my heart out, put it back in again…and then kept me on this emotional rollercoaster. And no, I don’t have any complaints.

This is one of the most compelling books I’ve read in a while. I found myself absolutely rooting for Tyreste and Anastazja’s romance. I dare say that these are even my top couple from the author now. Their love was equal ounces forbidden and dangerous. I loved the way Cradit had everyone biting their nails as they read on. (And maybe I do have a slight weakness for high born with a pubkeep)

The elements of Snow White/Red Rose was *chefs kiss*. I’m usually hesitant about retellings like this one but this one was executed to perfection since the elements were clearly there but didn’t overshadow an original plot. And this plot certainly was something that couldn’t be overshadowed.

This is a book that will keep you on your toes and keep you hoping. This beautiful story shows the importance of love and trust.

The Belle and The Blackbird is a compelling and fascinating read! Sarah M. Cradit is amazing at weaving tales that interconnect. The story follows Anastazja Wynter and Tyreste Penhallow. Tyr was also in The Altruist and the Assassin (another book in the Book of All Things stand-alones) and I’m so happy he got his own book and found love. Tyr and Ana are in love but Ana worries for his safety so she breaks things off early on in the book. But circumstances keep bringing them back together. Ana is forced to do terrible things by her evil stepmother, a witch named Magda, and she does them to save those she loves. Ana is a wonder FMC and her character arc is phenomenal. Tyr is one of my favorite MMCs. He is perfect in every way. I found the story building very captivating and couldn’t wait to finish the book.

This was another fantastic read from Sarah. This book is my favorite so far in the series, The Book of All Things. This series is set in the rich developing world of the Kingdom of the White Seas. My guess is that each stand-alone in this series is the historical record of major events leading up to the original trilogy.

Anastazja and Tyr’s love story is so and heartbreaking. We are introduced to these characters in “The Altruist and the Assassin” but these are all standalones with inner twined with each other. Their love story is enticing and heartbreaking. I do like the Snow White elements with a thrilling twist to the story.

I highly recommend reading this book and series

I think the Guardians Cycle might be my favourite out of all of them 😍
Seeing how the story continued after the events of TAATA was so much fun. I love Tyr and Ana, though she can be a bit too dramatic for my personal taste. Having Tyr as her rock, her anchor made it so much better.
The plot in this had me reading late into the night. Seeing how different events in other books tied into this one!
Sarah is a genius at world building, plot and character growth!

At the beginning of this story, I got goosebumps just by reading the impressive introduction which gave a great insight to the story. A centuries-old feud has come to light and only together can Anastazja and Tyreste end the terror that has gripped the north and the Ravenwoods for so long. The story is divided into different sections which have unique titles. And as you go forward, the artwork just steals your heart away.

I personally associate Sarah with very beautiful artworks & design covers and her books are really gorgeous where the artists do an amazing job. The chapter headers are unique to them and I love reading them to find the significance behind them. Tyreste is so handsome just like Ana is very beautiful and their portraits in the book are just mesmerising.

The first chapter is the foundation and is heartbreaking in this story. Then the story starts with letters from a 200-year-old conversation and the mystery starts to build up that why, when, where, and what of?? The only problem is that the letters are in a language these intelligent people are not able to decipher, I am excited to see how it goes from here. Just 2 chapters in and the excitement is reaching to the top.

The story has so much loneliness for both the characters and it makes me sad that people have to go through so much. Fear is a real thing. Illusions can solve a lot of problems. Ana encourages herself by chanting thoughts whenever in the unknown is the best support one can give to herself or himself. At 70% in, I was shocked with what came in although I expected it to be something like this but nooo it can’t be. Life is cruel.

I was completely engrossed in the story and the plot developed with every chapter. The suspense was maintained throughout the book and the steps taken in the process have entertained me thoroughly. I was able to relate to the story and can easily see the glimpses of other stories in this series which added to experiencing an amazing story in the works.

Every book Sarah comes out with is better than the last one in some way or the other, this one was very different from all the others in the series and daammm the BEST to read. Ana and Tyr are made for each order. The support from family and friends was quiet assuring that everything will be fine by the end of the book. They were the pillars for these two other than their love for each other.

I am in love with this retelling and literally adore each and every character here. Addy is the most adorable, friendly, and lovable character, she is Tyr’s sister. Ana’s character has grown substantially in the entire journey of ups and downs of it. Tyr got to learn and accept his feelings and act on them. A must must-read book.

Oh my God. Oh my God. I was waiting for their story from TAATA. And totally did not disappoint.
Let's start from the start. Story background can be both confusing for first time readers of this series, but slowly it will clear up. The characters are amazing and the chemistry is awesome.
Although I loved the angst more personally. But then getting back together was good too

I have read a few books set inthis world, and each one is as compelling as the next. This opening chapter was quite the surprise for me though, I wasn't expecting such an explicit scene right off the bat! Not that Ms Cradit shies away from steamy scenes, she doesn't and she does them really well, but good golly, I honestly wasn't expecting to get hot under the collar in the first few paragraphs! I did, very hot...but there's a reason why we get sucked in head first, ok, yes, pun intended...the reason is a simple one, it highlights Ana's desperation, her impending fate and the dreadful curve ball the universe has thrown at her, an inkling is dribbled our way and It got me immediately on Ana's side. And on Tyreste's, although, my heart went out to him, everything he holds dear is snatched away with a few cruel words by Ana's hand or mouth rather. And what's worse is that I completely understood her motive behind it, the anguish she caused both herself and Tyreste, the saying "you have to be cruel sometimes to be kind" popped up immediately in my head.

What started off as a batch of letters needing translating, soon turned into a nightmare so horrific, it boggles the mind, especially Ana's. And I could relate. Desperate to keep her remaining loved ones safe, she is manipulated into tasks by her very evil stepmother, feeling she has no choice but to comply. Her fear is so palpable as is her horror at what she is forced to do. But there's so much more than just Magda asserting her will over Ana. I admit that although I really loved her character, I found Ana very naive at times. On the one hand she knows what she wants and pulls out all the stops and on the other, accepts everything shoveled her way. I see her determination to change her situation, just to see her sliding back to hopelessness. Her all consuming love for Tyreste and her family definitely messed with her common sense! Thankfully, through trial and error, she finally comes into her own and finds that inner strength. Lots of error...lots of trials... and lots of helplessness. When she soared, I soared with her, expelling a built up breath in relief.

The characters I enjoyed the most were definitely Tyreste and Adeline, him because he wears his heart on his sleeve for all to see and I did. I so wanted to wrap my arms around him to console him. He never waivers in his support and love for Ana, even though he's been through the mill, he sets everything aside to help her. Adeline because she's just awesome! She's a mute but boy has she got gumption!

This is another well spun tale by Ms Cradit, taking me on a superb journey of deceipt, manipulation, a very vivid world and a plot that had me chewing on my fingernails in angst. A story that captured my imagination and heart with it's creativity and magic system. A story that brings in characters from previous books in this series, all standalone, all equally enjoyable. And best of all, once I'd stuffed my heart back in it's rightful place, the HEA makes all my chewed fingernails a thing of the past, barely noticeable.

The Book of All Things is a series of standalone fantasy romance tales set in the vibrant, epic world first introduced by USA Today Bestselling Author Sarah M. Cradit in the Kingdom of the White Sea trilogy. The Belle and the Blackbird is a forbidden love fantasy romance Snow White & Rose Red retelling, featuring Tyreste and Anastazja, characters first introduced in The Altruist and the Assassin. It is the second story in the Guardians Cycle of The Book of All Things, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone.
------

Sink into this alluring tale of a reclusive pubkeep and the dazzling, unattainable noble whose life is wrapped in a deadly mystery he can’t resist solving.

The Belle and the Blackbird is the seventh book in the Book of all Things series. I love the spice level in the Guardian cycle, ad with that combined with Sarah's signature storytelling ability, it should come as no surprise that The Belle and the Blackbird is one of my favorite installments in the Book of All Things series. I loved this one!

In The Belle and the Blackbird we meet our main characters, Tyreste and Anastazja. We first met these two in The Altruist and the Assassin, and it was fantastic to see them get their own story. I loved Ana so much. She is such a kind hearted, good person. I knew right away that I wanted her to succeed and find her happy ending. Me liking her as much as I did made her whole journey super rewarding for me. I always love how developed and fleshed out Sarah makes her characters, but I was particularly impressed with Ana's character growth throughout the story. And Tyr! He was the perfect complement to Ana, and after knowing him from the previous book, I was so happily impressed with him. I was rooting so hard for these two!

I enjoyed the little throwbacks to Snow White, but this was no ordinary retelling. This story felt fresh, beautiful and completely their own. If you like emotional love stories set in an epic fantasy world, with spice, fantastic writing, loveable characters, and some snow white throwbacks, then this is the book for you. I highly recommend the Book of All Things series to all lovers of fantasy. Sarah M. Cradit is an epic fantasy writer like no other. I love her books!

This is a must read fantasy series! Check it out right now if you haven't already!

Anastazja - I enjoyed her character, especially since she's having ancestors from The Claw and the Crowned. Even tho the stories are standalone it was nice to read some events that happened in the past that she reads about it. Those memory lines events were beautiful and I liked the way she found her voice and fought. Her character was definitely troubled by lots of bad things, and I liked the way she was so selfless even tho power is in numbers and I'm glad she eventually figured that out.
Tyreste - I thought he's so shy, or at least in the past he was, but in this book he has been a beast. He's been out of his shell and you can see a more dirtier side of him which I've enjoyed a lot.
There are also other characters that drive the story and/or add to the story such as Addy which I've loved her so much. Each character in the story I found it to be interesting because they have had some type of influence on the stories outcome.

The world-building isn't something I'd love to be in, snow almost all year round, no thank you. But the cider, the apple event? Those were some beautiful moments, and also the fire moment was definitely heart-touching. In general, the world-building isn't overly described but you get information about the world around you, and gives you a general idea of what their world looks like.

I loved how fast-paced the story felt, I flew through pages, and probs I probably would've read it quicker if I had more time to read, but overall the story moved quickly. There was no dull moment, you've got lots of events happening in a blink of an eye, sweet romance that takes you through ups and down, a bit of betrayal and lots of tension because you can't predict what's yet to happen.

The book is not clean romance, it is spicy and very detailed into the sex department. The story contains trigger warnings such as: torture, murder, manipulation, blackmail, magically-influenced attempted SA (not graphic), however none of the subjects triggered me.

The Belle and the Blackbird is book seven in The Book of all Things series, by Sarah Cradit, and It's almost redundant to say that this is currently my favorite fantasy epic romance series. I'm hooked to political intrigue, hot love stories and unusual forms of magic - totally addicted to George Martin's ASOIAF and sagas that follow similar perspectives. So, it's no surprise that I fell in love with the Kingdomverse, with each of the reaches, the families and the entire extensive network of adventures that runs through the different cycles of this fantasy universe. TBATB is the second in Guardians Cycle, so, we already knew some characters of first book, The Altruist and the Assassin. Here Sarah takes up the traditional tale Snow White Rose Red to tell another found family story - already a trope in Kingdomverse - complete with dynastic secrets, spicy romance between a lady and a commoner and a whole mythical atmosphere that is very reminiscent of Slavic folklore. Ana is yet another strong and determined FMC among the many that Kingdomverse has brought us. It is also one of the most marked by suffering, especially for carrying the weight of family leadership on its back. She grows and strengthens as the narrative takes place, practically being reborn as a new woman, freed from fears and sure of herself. In turn, Tyreste reminds me of those medieval amour courtois lovers, eternally in the service of his lady. In the story, this applies both to emotional support and, of course, to the sexual tryst. The spice vibe in the tale is amazing, we really feel the involvement of the couple, not only physical but also emotional. There are some wonderful secondary characters like Addie and Grigor, I sincerely hope Sarah can explore them in new stories. In all, Belle fits perfectly into the Guardians Cycle and throughout the Kingdomverse. The story draws on Kingdom lore and highlights the ubiquitous figure of Medwyns, resuming the heritage of the phoenix and establishing points of contact with Scepter Cycle. There are still some entries to Ravenwoods and a somewhat new magic people - the Vjestik, which I hope to learn much more about in the next installments of the series. I can only conclude by recommending reading Belle to all those who love fantasy romance with epic vibes. Once again, Sarah woves her magic with all the honors and merits.
I received and arc by the author for an honest review.

(3 ⭐️) I enjoyed a lot of this book! The characters were fun, the plot was interesting, and the romance was cute. However, I unfortunately didn’t enjoy this nearly as much as Sarah’s other books I’ve read.

First off, I found Ana to be a pretty compelling character. She was just so angsty and had a lot of complex problems to work through. She was constantly trying to do the “right” thing and navigate impossible situations with virtually no help so I really just had to feel for the girl. Tyr on the other hand… Listen, I’m not the type of person who thinks all men in romance books need to be perfect or even full-on simps (even though I prefer that) but I just found him to be quite wishy washy until almost the end of the book. He kept changing his mind about Ana and contradicting himself which made me doubt his commitment and feelings (if a guy is already looking for the next one after like a week, does he really still love you that much?). I think there needed to be a bit more development on his part for me to be fully invested in their relationship.

The initial plot was also pretty strong. I really enjoyed following Ana as she tried to not only save the people she loves but also outsmart Magda within the first half of the book. I think the second half was where things got a little convoluted. Not only was there an underdeveloped secondary villain introduced but the actual “solution” to the conflict was quite silly to be honest.

I think maybe my expectations were a bit high since I’ve really enjoyed Sarah’s other books and always thought of them as standouts in the fantasy romance genre but this was still a fun time. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes mistaken identity, angst, spice, and loose fairytale retellings.

This book "The Belle and The Blackbird" by Sarah M. Cradit was phenomenal. I couldn't wait to see Tyreste and Anastazja's story unfold. It was an amazing book that went through their story in the most perfect way. Like all of Sarah's books, it was such a fleshed out story that I didn't want the intricacies to end as quickly as they did.

This may be considered a retelling of "Snow White," but Sarah performed that avenue in such a way that it was totally unique and not just a traditional retelling following the exact same story plot. Sarah really impressed me with this as I absolutely love variation retellings, especially when the author makes it his or her own.

This book is amazing. And had a good balance of spice and story plot line that we have come to know and love. I truly think this is my favorite book yet in the series, but I always say that, and then the next book becomes my favorite. Sarah always out does herself with everything she comes up with. I love being surprised and even more impressed when an author can outdo an amazing story.

I give this book a 5/5 rating and highly recommend everyone read this series. I don't think you would be disappointed at all.

“Home is where we make it. Family is who we choose.”

Read this book if you love;
• Forbidden Love
• Shapeshifting Heroine
• Dark secrets
• Snow White and Rose Red retelling

The plot is quite interesting. I really like some elements from Snow White story can be found in this story with the apples, the wicked step-mother and the Mirror.

The Belle and the Blackbird is about Tyreste’s story, he previously appeared in the the first book – The Altruist and the Assassin. To be honest, I forgot what the 1st book is about but fortunately this one provides enough information to jog my memory back about it. Plus the characters from the 1st book also make an appearance which helps, like Asterin and Sesto.

It took longer than I expected for me to get hooked into the story cause most of the time I don’t agree with some of the decisions the main characters (Tyreste and Ana) made during the first half part of the story.
Nevertheless, I really like Tyreste’s family relationship especially seeing him so close to his sister – Adeline. I love their strong bond and how welcoming Tyreste’s family to Ana.

Overall, it’s not a bad one but it’s not as great as the other books I’ve read in this series so far. The ending was slightly rushed and I kinda hope the real villain was more highlighted, nonetheless I like this snow white retelling story that comes with a twist.

⚠️ 𝐓𝐖: Torture, murder, manipulation, blackmail, magically-influenced attempted SA (not graphic)

If Sarah writes it, I’ll read it ❤️

Sarah M. Cradit is one of my go-to authors for a good romantasy. Her books are so well-written and detailed. As always, Sarah’s characters were very well developed, and they continued to shine until the end. I absolutely loved how flawlessly she tied in other characters from this series.

The first chapter of The Belle and the Blackbird had me hooked. My jaw dropped (iykyk) and my heart broke for Tyr and Ana. But it’s fine, I’m fine. The rest of the story, and the conclusion, totally made up for it.

Tyr and Ana were *chefs kiss*. Their love for each other only continued to grow and burn through all of the hell they had to go through. Tyr fought for Ana, stood by her, and loved her through everything. Ana was fierce, strong, and selfless. She always put her loved ones and others above herself. Even if it meant sacrificing herself to save them.

The challenges they had to endure individually, and together, made them stronger. And as I continued to read, I only fell in love with them more.

- I would walk through fire… swim the Howling Sea… for you.

- Love isn’t knowing when to say goodbye. It’s finding the strength to do it when everything inside of you would do anything to just be weak, for once.

- You are the breath in my tired lungs. The beats of my fractured heart. The peace in my tortured mind…

- Your soul is wounded, and it can be mended, but a broken soul cannot make such a choice.

So much emotions...... so much fear when you follow this beautiful Snow white retelling you get a beautiful tale of LOVE, longing, despair and hope. Ana and Tyres are beautifully complex characters. they experience so much loss and hurt only to rise above like a firry Phoenix (pun intended) and become the characters they are meant to be. On their own they have to find themselves but together they will find passion and love to last a lifetime if they can rise above their fear. the art not only on the cover but inside is breathtaking. although I felt this was a slow moving plot at first the book picked up pace about the half way point and sored. As with all Sarah Cradits books the love story is at the center of the story and this story is so complex. you will urn for these two get together after they have been torn apart. but the longing makes is so sweet.

as a fairytale retelling reviewer I will say I didn't get the rose red aspect of the story I felt it was more a Snow White story then the 2 girls even though I understood what the author did I just personally did not feel it the vision of snow white and rose read translated to page. In saying that though I loved the snow white aspects and the beautiful imagination that transpired to this story and would totally recommend it as a snow white retelling.

The world building in these books are just magical. the time and effort to create this world is so obvious that she takes this seriously. this is book 2 in this cycle but in the series it is book 9. the fact that she references so many of the other books in this is just amazing to me. what this author accomplished in these books is astonishing.
