Los secuestradores de mentes

Rate this book

Also publishes as Stephen Cole.

Steve Cole is the slightly crazy, highly frantic, millions-selling, non-stop author of Astrosaurs, Cows In Action, Astrosaurs Academy, The Slime Squad, Z. Rex and many other books (including several original Doctor Who stories).

He used to edit magazines and books but prefers the job of a writer where you can wear pyjamas and eat chocolate all day.

Steve just can't stop writing - if he does, strange robots appear and jostle him vigorously until he starts again.

In his spare time he loves making music, reading old comics, thinking up ideas for new books and slumping in front of a warm TV.

Michael and I have been reading the Astrosaurs series by Steve Cole. The astrosaurs are vegetarian dinosaurs that escaped the Earth before the meteor hit and have established themselves in the "Vegetarian Sector" in space. They are tasked with keeping the Vegetarian Sector safe from external hazards and also from the mean and greedy meat-eating dinosaurs who inhabit the "Carnivore Sector" of space. In the Mind-Swap Menace, Captain Teggs, the main character in the series, a huge but very empathetic and kind stegosaur and his colleague, Iggy Tooth, a tough iguanodon and the chief engineer of the spaceship, Sauropod, come across an abandoned carnivore space station in the Vegetarian Sector. On investigation, the discover that the space station is not actually abandoned and they come across Crool Dasta, a sneaky coelophysis, and the master mind of the mind swapping machine. Captain Teggs and Iggy become involved in an adventure where they need to save both themselves, and their dinosaur world, from the evil plans of Crool Dasta and his accomplice. Mike and I are loving this series which is very appealing to young boys as each book is packed with action and the story lines are quite unique and interesting. The books are also all about dinosaurs and what could be more amazing than that!

A group of highly developed dinosaurs travelling through space encounter some escaped prisoners.

I thought this book had a reasonable story that would probably be enjoyed by youngish children.

Excellent series of books for boys to become interested in reading - dinosaurs and space; a great combination. My eight year old loves these.
