Team Grendel has made some enemies.
The Team of ex-Navy SEALs, scientists, and highly trained misfits may have saved countless lives, but they are now paying for their heroism. Pursued relentlessly across the globe by an unknown group, Team Grendel finds themselves disavowed by the United States and other sovereign nations for their work outside legal channels.
Across the South Pacific ocean, Team Grendel must flee, headed for a sanctuary only their boss and benefactor knows about, fighting for their lives the entire way. But, as is the luck of Team Grendel, there is more than just human enemies chasing them down. As they battle their way across the open waters, something so giant, so relentless, and so hungry, pursues them, ready to end their war on the monsters of the deep.
The mother of their nightmares has come to the surface and it will not stop until the Team is dead and devoured! Yet, even a monster shark of nightmarish proportions has its own enemy and Team Grendel is about to find out what happens When Giants Collide!

It was Shark Week. Cut me some slack. This was sorta okay but it isn't scary when a giant shark swallows a group of people whole. It's scary when a smaller shark rends that person's flesh apart with it's "fit to scale" razor mouth. It improves the screaming virtue. This was like that Star Wars sequel that owns the premise of "This Death Star is Bigger than the Death Star in the Last Movie." I find that unsatisfying.

2.5 stars but it has some mindless horror entertainment value. I can't complain. I knew what I was getting into.

Hello Gemmies! I have an entertaining audiobook review to share with you today. MEGA 3: When Giants Collide by Jake Bible is the third book in the MEGA series. This series is pure adrenaline fueled fun. When Giants Collide is my favorite in the series so far! Jake Bible has seamlessly blended the military action, science fiction, humor, and horror, genres into one amazing thrill ride!

MEGA 3: When Giants Collide takes place some time after the events in MEGA 2: Baja Blood. Team Grendel has completed several missions including taking down a Titanoboa (I hope we will learn about that mission in a future book or novella)! They have saved countless lives but have also made countless enemies. Our lovable band of misfits made up of of ex-Navy SEALs and scientists are now paying for their actions. Disavowed by the United States and pursued by numerous groups, Team Grendel finds themselves fleeing for their lives across the South Pacific ocean. But in true Jake Bible fashion, that's not all! Jake has delivered another well thought out adventure with even more twists and turns and secrets to decipher. There are plots within plots, tragedy, and of course....monsters!

The character development remains top notch and I end up falling more in love with Team Grendel with each book. Shane and Max remain my favorites. I literally laugh out loud at all of their antics. But, really, I just love all of them and their interactions with each other. I remain fully invested in all of their outcomes. The shark carnage is bumped up a notch, just adding to my enjoyment of this story.

MEGA 2: Baja Blood is narrated by one person, Neil Hellegers. Neil is the absolute best pick for this series. His pacing is perfect and he does a brilliant job bringing all of these characters to life. Neil adds just the right amount of snark and sass to successfully nail all of the dark humor. He is also able to add enough differentiation to his voice to give each character a unique personality.

If you love vengeful giant killer sharks, betrayal, high tech weapons, dark humor, intelligent sasquatch', and ocean adventures go read this book! Published by Severed Press, MEGA 3: When Giants Collide is available for purchase from all major booksellers. I give MEGA 3: When Giants Collide 5 out of 5 gems. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. Happy Reading!

Ready for another crazy book in the Mega series? Because….. yes, this book is bananas! I’m starting to sense a theme! 😮 Crazy and big. Bigger carnage, Bigger fights. Bigger killers. Bigger twists. Bigger romances. BIGGER SHARK. And all of the above is just crazy good fun.

Mega 3 starts off several months after Baja Blood. There is a little bit of recap with the main characters. We get a brief update with what has been going on in between book 2 and 3. There is just a little bit of set up for the plot and then we are off to the races at full speed. Very quick. It felt like this book was over before I knew it.

With each book in the series, you get to see a little bit more character growth. It is very rewarding to watch the bonds between the team getting stronger with each book. I love this team! They have such a great chemistry together.

I’m loving these series. It is incredibly fun and action packed. Pure 100% adrenaline. What a perfect summer read. An excellent pick for reading during Shark Week! The book is over before you even know it. What a hook at the end, too! Once again, I am left satisfied with the ending but craving the next book in the series!

Review of this book.

This book was just as exciting as the other books in this series. The action did not stop with the last page. In fact it went up a notch. The continuity was spot on. All the characters were present and the action flowed seamlessly. The author just keeps getting better and the books more thrilling.

Someone described this series as an R-rated SyFy movie, which is pretty apt, except I’m actually enjoying this series. What madness will Team Grendel encounter next? Who knows, but I’m here for the ride.

A nice quiet cruise.

Who am I kidding? When it comes to Ballantine and Team Grendel quiet is not on the cards.

Team Grendel back at it again

Once again Team Grendel first day themselves on another one of Ballentine's secretive missions but they have a bigger target on their backs. Their enemies have grown in numbers as well as size. Their pasts have come back to haunt them. Some questions are answered about Ballentine and the company, but with every answered question there are 10 more new unanswered ones. Thrilling read and even some introductions of new characters and creatures.

Another nail-biter... Or ship grinder as the case may be. Lots of surprises in this one, especially Ronald. The fate of the original Beowulf vessel is revealed at last. Oh, and of course our team of heroes is being pursued by everyone after they have been disavowed. Drug Cartels, Pirates, Mercs and, of course, the BIGGEST Friggin' shark yet! Another hit!
